According to ABC Arizona: Police arrested a Mesa man suspected of shooting his son-in-law with a flare gun and attempting to stab him with a folding pocket knife Saturday morning near Alma School and Pecos Roads in Chandler. George Brown, 66, was involved in a domestic dispute in front of the victim’s home when the dispute turned violent, police said. The victim was shot in the abdomen with the flare gun causing an open wound with burns, police said. Witnesses stated that they heard Brown say he wanted to shoot the victim and watch him burn to death, according to court documents.
