In this age of social media, many parents have taken their forms to punishment to the net to embarrass their children into behaving. Many of those punishments have been egregious and cruel, but this one seems to be reasonable. That said, someone will always find a way to be faux outraged… According to 13ABC , Ohio dad Matt Cox was sick and tired of his 10-year-old daughter being suspended from school for bullying her classmates, so he decided he was going to put an end to it. Cox forced his daugther to walk 5 miles to school in 36-degree weather over her 3-day suspension and uploaded his recording to Facebook. Many parents applauded Cox for teaching his daughter a lesson, other, more sensitive types were big mad: Something is wrong in the home if this is how you try to teach your child how to be a good person. Punishments may make a kid stop doing the behavior, but it doesn’t change their heart. You need to sit down and figure out why she is bullying, spend some TIME, instead of just punishing. Add to that, putting it on social media so you can get some attention? yuck. Do YOU have a problem with this kind of punishment?
Jael Strauss, the America’s Next Top Model contestant who revealed just two months ago that she had breast cancer , died Tuesday morning around 11 a.m. She was under hospice care at the time. And she was 34 years old. Insiders close to Strauss tell TMZ that her condition took a turn for the worse on Monday night, following several days during which Strauss was unconscious. Her family has been allowing visitors to see Jael, however, up until the final few hours of her life. It was clear at that point that the Season 8 hopeful did not have much time remaining. Strauss chose to stop chemotherapy around Halloween and went into hospice on Thanksgiving, writing on Facebook: “First night in hospice. So many things I never knew about life. Or death. So many things.” It was only a month or so before this transition that Strauss wrote a lengthy and emotional message to fans about her Stage IV breast cancer. Likely aware at the time that the diagnosis was fatal, she said: “It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable.” “With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the ‘few months’ doctors said I could make it. I don’t want to die.” “I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013.” With this statement, Strauss was referring to a past battling the devastating affects of crystal meth addiction. This was something difficult and personal, and which she addressed publicly in an appearance on Dr. Phil in 2012. In August, just two months before the breast cancer diagnosis, Strauss celebrated five years of sobriety. This is what she wrote on Instagram in tribute to herself, her situation and all those who helped her along the way: I know a few things to be true: Miracles are real, Recovery is possible for everyone no matter how far gone you think you are, We are never too broken to be put back together. Service work feels better than the greatest high. Sobriety makes you weirder not normal and I’d be dead if it weren’t for all the love and forgiveness I’ve been showered with by my friends and family. SAid Jael’s family and friends to TMZ in a statement: “The one blessing was that we were able to show her how loved she was before she passed. She brought so much light to people.” As mentioned above, Strauss competed on the eighth season of America’s Next Top Model in 2007 and finished sixth in the competition. Danielle Mullins Jbali may have been replaced by a slew of new 90 Day Fiance stars , but she still has her fans. And she’s now turning to those fans for help with a crisis. She is asking her fans and followers to help her out of a tight spot — to the tune of $5,000. Danielle Mullins has taken to Facebook to issue a plea to her fans who have stuck with her since her time on 90 Day Fiance . “I feel like no matter what I do,” Danielle shares. “I can never get ahead.” A lot of people feel that way these days. It’s been a couple of generations since the minimum wage was, as originally intended, enough for people to survive. “I am trying to go to school to better myself and get a better job,” Danielle writes. “I have even had to get another job,” she shares. “Because the employer I work for now cut my hours to 20 hours…” Danielle is currently at risk of losing her home. “I bought this trailer,” she shares. “Hoping that it would be a home for me and my girls.” Now, Danielle reveals, “I will probably have to leave my home.” Heartbreaking — and not what you expect to hear from a reality star. Danielle explains that this is “because I had some financial issues the last few months and got behind on my lot rent.” The Ashley got a hold of a screencap from Danielle’s private Facebook page. “The trailer park I rent my lot from won’t take partial payments,” she explains, adding that it “charges me to have our dogs.” Charing someone extra for them to have dogs on a plot of ground sounds like an excuse to make money. “And,” Danielle claims, the park “has harassed my guests all summer when they park on the road.” We’re not sure where they’re supposed to park, but we’d suggest that they park there, instead. “They took me to court,” she reveals. “And I managed to come up with lot rent and the past due amount, the court costs, and more.” But her problems were not solved. Danielle writes: “and likely they won’t accept it.” “I work my tail off doing Cameos [which are made-to-order videos for fans, by the way],” Danielle mentions. She continues: “what hours I work, promoting products and selling autographs to come up with money.” “We will probably have to leave my home ’til I can come up with the money to move it,” she laments. A residential trailer isn’t an RV that you can just drive to a new location. Danielle implores her fans and followers: “please pray for me and my girls.” If you’re thinking that Danielle must have been spending recklessly to fall behind that way … you are mistaken. “I got behind on lot rent for my home that I own,” Danielle wrote elsewhere. “I have had two replace one of my bathroom floors due to black mold,” she shared. “I had two water line breaks, and then my hours got cut,” Danielle explained. She continued: “The mobile home park took me to court and I came up with the money but it is the matter of them accepting it or not.” Sometimes, a landlord would prefer that you just leave if they don’t believe that you’ll pay reliably. “If they don’t accept it,” Danielle says. “I will have to leave the home I own and find a way to move my trailer out of the park.” Danielle Mullins’ GoFundMe page tells her story: “Danielle went back to school, took on a second job, and is trying to do the right thing,” the page says. A Puerto Rican woman named Lennys Bermudez Molina says she was trying to find a seat at a Phoenix restaurant last week when she was berated and told her race would be “wiped out.” “I hate to say the political climate is to blame for someone’s outrageous behavior, but I was visibly shaken today with this exchange. I simply asked the woman if I could sit down next to her while I waited for the car to charge,” Molina captioned a Facebook video of the incident. The video shows the spoiled mayo rudely telling Molina she wished the “whole freaking nation” was white. “You will be wiped out … trust me,” added the woman. SMH, the boldness of this beyotch is crazy. Are you even surprised to see yet another racist video ???
Kareem Hunt, one of the top running backs in the National Football League, has been caught in the act. And the act is really quite awful. TMZ has obtained footage of Hunt violently beating a woman inside of a Cleveland hotel this past February. The surveillance footage is from February 10 at 3:22 a.m., to be exact, and it clearly depicts Hunt arguing with an unidentified 19-year old female. We see the Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro confronting his victim and then shoving her very hard, prior to the woman striking Hunt in the face. At this point, truly loses it: he pushes one of his friends into the woman and then kicks her while she's crouching on the floor. Law enforcement was called to the scene, but no arrests were made. Hunt, who led the entire league in rushing last year, was not suspended by the NFL nor disciplined in any significant way by the Chiefs. In August, team CEO Clark Hunt publicly stated in August he doubted Hunt would be suspended, meaning he was well aware of at least some kind of incident. We do not know if he saw this video or if anyone in the league office has seen the video. The situation is reminiscent of what transpired with Ray Rice. Also a talented running back in 2014, Rice was suspended for two games for punching his girlfriend. But then this CRAZY footage of Rice knocking her unconscious went public and the league increased its penalty, causing many to wonder why the NFL needed videographic evidence when Rice had already admitted to punching his loved one. Commissioner Roger Goodell has become infamous for failing to appropriately deal with players who beat women. At the time of this Hill incident, the woman told police the entire thing started because Hunt kicked her out of his room after she refused to hook up with one of the men in his entourage. Sounds very classy of him. In December of 2014, meanwhile, Hunt's wide receiver teammate Tyreek Hill – then a star on Oklahoma State University’s football and track teams – was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation. According to reports, he allegedly punched and choked his girlfriend… who was pregnant at the time. Watch the video now to be very disgusted by Kareem Hunt.
Back in 2016, Kesha alleged that she was raped by famed record music producer Dr. Luke. Luke has worked with some of the biggest names in pop over the course of his career, and Kesha insisted that she was not his only victim. In court documents that were unsealed last year, Kesha accused Luke of raping Katy Perry, and to the surprise of many, Perry remained silent on the matter. But while she never spoke out on social media, Perry did respond to the allegations in court. And it seems the singer was not happy to be dragged into a legal battle she wanted no part in. In a 2017 deposition unsealed today and obtained by Radar Online, Katy makes her feelings on the situation very clear: “Annoyed, pissed off that she would bring me into it in this way, annoyed at both Luke and Kesha,” Perry replied when asked how she felt about Kesha’s claims. Perry stated that she was never assaulted by Luke, but declined to support him publicly, as she knew her fans would be “very angry” if she were to defend an accused rapist. “I would be attacked, I would be the one woman that is against women and I’m not against women, but I believe in innocent until proven guilty and I believe in justice,” she told the court. “I want to stay out of it because I know them both and I empathize with both of them and obviously it’s a horrible situation for both of them,” she added. “And the only two people that know what really went on are those two people.” Today’s unsealed files also contain a transcript of a 2016 text message conversation between Kesha and Lady Gaga on the subject of Perry: “Was crying a lot today and needed my mom,” Kesha told her fellow pop star. “I’m really upset with Katy Perry … She could bring the whole thing to a head…She was raped by the same man. She is probably really afraid to lose everything.” “U are really strong standing up to him, she’s not as strong as u yet,” Gaga assured her friend, adding: “Have you talked to her?” “[You’re] right. I need to find sympathy and empathy for her. She’s so mean. It’s hard,” Kesha responded. “Do you want me to see if I can talk to her?” Gaga said. “I know she’s mean.” Kesha was definitive in response, texting, “OMG, NO!” in response to Gaga’s offer to intervene. While no criminal charges have been filed against Luke, he and Kesha have both filed civil suits against one another. Their legal battle remains ongoing. The internet lost its mind after learning that a woman named her actual daughter “Abcde.” The furious mother complained that her child had been mocked by an airline employee who couldn’t believe the name on the boarding pass. Now, Southwest Airlines is apologizing profusely. Traci Redford says that her 5-year-old daughter, whose actual name is Abcde, was insulted and mocked by an airline employee. The girl’s name is pronounced ab-city . And yes, it is objectively funny on every level. However, Traci was not amused when a Southwest Airlines employee at John Wayne Airport in California laughed at the name on her daughter’s boarding pass. She was even less amused that the employee apparently photographed the girl’s name on the boarding pass in order to share it on social media. Now, Southwest has issued an apology. In a statement to People , Southwest Airlines profusely apologized for their employee’s very human reaction. “We extend our sincere apology to the family,” the statement begins. “We take great pride in extending our Southwest Hospitality to all of our Customers,” Southwest continues. The statement continues: “which includes living by the Golden Rule and treating every individual with respect, in person or online.” “The post is not indicative of the care, respect, and civility we expect from all of our Employees,” the airline says. “We have followed up with the Employee involved,” Southwest’s apology continues. That sounds … unpleasant for everyone involved. “And,” Southwest says. “While we do not disclose personnel actions publicly.” The statement continues: “we are using this as an opportunity to reinforce our policies.” Hopefully, that means making it a teaching moment, rather than making an example of those involved. “And,” Southwest concludes, they are working to “emphasize our expectations for all Employees.” Traci Redford spoke about the ordeal that her daughter experienced at the airport. “The gate agent started mocking my child’s name, laughing” Traci described. Traci said that the employee was “pointing at me and my daughter and talking to other employees.” “So,” Traci described. “I turned around and just said, ‘Hey, I can hear you, so if I can hear you, my daughter can, too. I’d appreciate it if you’d just stop.'” Apparently her daughter was puzzled: “She asked me, ‘Mom, why is she laughing at my name?’” “And,” Traci continued. “I said, ‘You know, honey, not everybody is nice, and not everyone is going to be nice, and it’s unfortunate.'” “While I was sitting there,” Traci accused. “She took a picture of my boarding pass and chose to post it on social media.” Traci clearly resents the employee apparently “mocking my daughter,” “It was actually brought to my attention by somebody who had seen it on Facebook,” Traci reveals. Yeah, we do have to say that, laughter may be involuntary, but uploading to social media? That’s a choice. (The “thirst” equivalent of this situation would be, like, the Alex From Target incident) “And,” Traci concluded, she “reported it to Southwest Airlines.” Children cannot help their names. Even adults have to go to court in order to get their names legally changed, and it takes time and money. As funny as a name like Abcde may be, it is totally inappropriate for anyone — especially an employee in the service industry — to mock a child to her face. Children can be very sensitive to these things. Instead, people should focus their ire on the mother, who cursed her with that name — which looks like a joke or a typo — in the first place. Someone who is not a Southwest employee should have explained to her that she was setting up her daughter for decades of ridicule. The social media site went offline, along with Instagram, after having a similar problem over a week ago, according to USA Today . FB users were beginning to question their allegiance to the site, while Twitter users were enjoying the show. The only reason I knew Facebook and instagram were down is because twitter told me — Clint Wilbanks (@THE_KLYNT) November 20, 2018 Most people have their preferred forms of social media and when it comes to Facebook, there are five groups in particular whose world was shook when Facebook decided to stop working.
