Popeyes Worker Quits By Performing A Rap Song, Big Pun Would Approve

Source: Joe Raedle / Getty A Popeyes worker decided he was going to quit his job. That itself isn’t too surprising, but this guy took it to peak levels by announcing so with a rap song.  The now ex-Popeyes employee walked into his story and made the announcement that he was quitting. This is where we point out that he also had a hypeman in tow as he proceeded to kick a rap song about his intentions set to the tune of Big Pun and Joe’s hit “Still Not A Player.” “I don’t really wanna work here no more,” goes the updated refrain. It, was, lit. Did he get his last check, though? So my cousin decided to quit his job at Popeyes today. This nigga went out in style pic.twitter.com/c1LCk6UNvi — (@DjHelicopter23) May 16, 2018 — Photo: Getty

Black Father Stopped In Park By Officer After Complaint of “Suspicious Man With Baby”

Source: Facebook / facebook We can now add taking a stroll an in the park with your child in the park to the long list of innocently trivial things that warrants suspicion from a white person when a Black person is doing it.  The Root reported that a black father, Donald Sherman while on a peaceful stroll through a local Washington D.C. park with his son Caleb was stopped by a “special officer.” via GIPHY Sherman took to his Facebook to share his experience aptly titling it “Today in Living While Black”: “30 minutes into our stroll I got flagged by a security officer in one of those cars marked “Special Police” on the side. I was a bit confused as to whether she was looking for me to stop but she honked twice and pulled over so I got the picture. She told me that she received a complaint from someone who said there was a “suspicious man” walking on the bike path with a baby. She said that when the complainant was asked to describe my race, she declined.” Sherman shared the officer asked the complainant to describe the suspicious person and “she declined.” Regardless, he says the person who filed the complaint against him was a white woman on a bike who veered off when she saw him and his some heading towards her. He goes on to add that he a “pleasant” interaction with the officer and let him know she only stopped him because she wanted to find out what happened before sending him on his way.  He ended his story by accurately stating: “If this complaint had been made to a different security officer or an actual cop, things could have gone very differently. This is exactly why we have to talk about white privilege and why black lives matter. Because at any point doing anything anywhere my safety and my child’s safety could [have] been in jeopardy because [of] some well-intentioned complaint.”  This growing list of things black people can’t seem to do in peace without being harassed by white people is getting ridiculously long. —

Eew: Four Teens Face Charges For A ‘Prank’ That Involved Cupcakes & ‘Bodily Fluids’

Source: Catherine Rickard / EyeEm / Getty I don’t know what’s going on in Connecticut, but four high schoolers in the area took a prank so far, I’m questioning their emotional and spiritual well-being. Two guys and two girls thought it would be “funny” if they brought some cupcakes to The Gilbert School made from their bodily fluids….   …we’ll let your imagination run wild. According to WFSB , all the cupcakes had the number 17 written on them, however cupcakes with a dash through the 7 had a special surprise in them. And when I say special surprise, I mean cue the “bodily fluids.”   Former Gilbert High student Kelsey Owens spilled all the tea : “The kids they didn’t like got the ones with dashes through the seven so they knew those were the tainted ones.” One anonymous parent even said the four kids passed the cupcakes out as if they were doing it out of the kindness of their hearts.   Dang. Talk about fake friends. The students little “prank” didn’t blow over well with the authorities. All four were arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree breach of peace. Eesh. “The case was presented to the prosecuting authorities (Juvenile Court) after an extensive forensic examination of the ‘cupcake’ and DNA comparisons of the suspect juveniles,” police said. Luckily, no staff or students became ill after eating the cupcakes. Despite all this, I’m surprised no one wanted to sue, take revenge or throw hands. The Gilbert School did however release a statement about the gross incident: “Nothing is more important to us at The Gilbert School than the safety and well-being of our students, and as such we are grateful for the support and responsiveness shown to us by the Winchester Police Department throughout this difficult situation. We continue to work cooperatively with the police, and any further questions regarding this case should be directed to them.” Such a tamed response. I wonder how the student victims feel?

Step Ya Grammar Up: 8 Things We’ve All Been Saying Wrong This Whole Time

Source: SensorSpot / Getty They say you learn something new everyday, and with the Internet expanding so rapidly, it seems like we learn something new every second.   For example, this whole time, we’ve all been complaining about something being “hard as hell.” But to many folks’ surprise, it’s actually “hard as hail” — get it?   That got us thinking, what else have we been saying that’s flat out wrong? People are still bugged out that Gif is pronounced Jiff. Check out more phrases you’ve probably saying wrong all along. The “Yop”in Yoplait yogurt is pronounced Yop like “top” not like “nope.   Nipping something in the butt is not a thing. But you can “nip it in the bud”.   In court, there’s no such thing as pleading the fifth. You can “take the fifth”. A plea is a statement someone makes at the beginning of the trial.   Instead of saying that someone is out of their rabbit ass mind, it’s actually “rabid ass mind”. Like rabies.   The only time you could be “Waiting on” someone is if you work at a restaurant. Otherwise, you’re “waiting for” something or someone.   Avoid looking crazy in meeting by remembering that it’s “flesh out” ideas, instead of “flush”.   We all say “you’ve got another thing coming.” But would you believe that it’s actually “You’ve got another THINK coming.”  I.E. “If that’s what you think, then you have another think coming.”   Can you think of any more things we’ve been saying totally wrong? Video Shows Ex-NFL Player Choked, Slammed And Had His Teeth Knocked Out By Cops

View original post here:

B lack people must have their cell phones charged 24 hours a day to blast police brutality incidents. The latest in a nationwide string of damning police brutality videos posted to social media showed Georgia cops forcing a Black ex-NFL player to the ground like they were the featured primetime act on WrestleMania. The clip of Desmond Marrow’s  arrest posted on Facebook Thursday has folks’ anger at level 100, with the alarm being sounded once again across the country. First, three White Henry County officers choked and slammed Marrow, 30, in the head until he passed out. He cried and screamed that he couldn’t breathe to no avail, the video revealed. @ShaunKing …… smh pic.twitter.com/VfQEs7hF37 — E. Dewey Smith (@edeweysmith) April 26, 2018 Secondly, Marrow’s teeth were knocked out, he said on social media. The arrest was so violent that he also suffered a shoulder strain and a concussion. Thirdly, Marrow, listed on the preseason roster of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, complied with officers’ demands during the arrest. He also told cops that he was not resisting, but they didn’t stop and one officer even warned him that he had a stun gun. “I’m not even doing nothing. I’m not even fighting back,” Marrow, who appeared to be handcuffed, said to the two officers who slammed him against a white pickup truck. One of the officers had Marrow’s arms behind his back, and the other officer pulled his legs out from under him before he was taken to the concrete. He struggled and screamed more as an officer pressed down on his throat. Marrow said Eric Garner ‘s last words, “I can’t breathe” but was still manhandled. Finally, cops conveniently used the mistaken identity defense in believing his cell phone was a gun like in Stephon Clark ‘s deadly shooting in Sacramento last month, according to The Washington Post . If there was a silver lining, it’s that Marrow didn’t suffer the same deadly fate as Clark and so many other unarmed Black men after interactions with White police officers. “I thought I was going to die. I was sure I was passing out or dying when Officer #D.Rose was choking me as my breath kept slipping away,” Marrow wrote. As to why cops arrested Marrow, they acted on suspicion after he was alleged to have played part in an altercation. Marrow was charged with terroristic threats, reckless driving and aggressive driving, according to Atlanta’s 11 Alive . No one should have to experience what Marrow went through with this beyond terrible arrest. The situation was especially traumatizing, he said. “This has affected me mentally and impacted my life in a way I can’t even humanly describe,” Marrow wrote on social media. “This isn’t a cry for sympathy, I just need it to be known . . . My cry is for JUSTICE.” SEE ALSO: Melanin Under Attack: Study Shows How Toxic Hair Products Are To Black Women Guilty On All Charges: Bill Cosby’s Prison Sentence Could End Up Being A Life Sentence [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3793345″ overlay=”true”]
