We recently learned that Anna Duggar didn’t have sex with her disgraced, cheating husband for nearly a year after he checked into rehab. Turns out his family won’t touch him either (so to speak). While it may seem like Josh Duggar is being slowly re-introduced into public life, everyone is clearly still wary of any association with him. The Duggars are in Big Sandy, Texas, attending a week-long convention for Christian families who adhere to a common set of beliefs. They announced that the “whole family (minus Jill and Derick) is heading to Big Sandy for their homeschool conference for the week!” Yes, including Josh … not that you’d know. In photos from the event, the expectant couple has been carefully avoided, though their two-year-old daughter Meredith was spotted. Josh and Anna did appear in one picture of a large family gathering, though they are MIA from any solo shots or other group images. Beyond the fact that his sex scandals have made Josh into a human third rail, criticism directed at Anna may also give the family pause. Currently pregnant with her fifth child, Anna has been criticized by many for standing by her man (she can’t win either way with fans). In any case, the silence can be deafening. When the world first learned that Anna was expecting for the fifth time, she and Josh revealed the news on the family Facebook page. While they are always congratulating their younger siblings on similar life milestones, Jill and Jessa Duggar were radio silent this time. In fact, it may only increase the scrutiny. The impression is that every public appearance or social media mention of him is carefully crafted and unavoidable. Almost involuntary. Discussion of where the scandals left Josh Duggar’s net worth , or what he’s doing to make a living now, are extremely common online. There’s also debate over where he’s living or whether he’s become so depressed that he can’t function as an equal parent with Anna. This image of Josh, posted by Pickles 4 Truth , shows him with an unkempt appearance at the Creation Museum in Kentucky last month: Josh is looking a little worse for the wear. Moreover, a hot photo of Jana Duggar holding Meredith at Big Sandy drew attention, and not just due to how beautiful “Cinderella” is. Coupled with reports that he doesn’t help Anna at all, Duggar obsessives are wondering how dependent Josh has become on his family. Some have even wondered if they’ve moved in with Jim Bob. One fan asked: “Are the Duggar family raising Josh and Anna’s children?” At the very least, they’re believed to be living close to the family compound in Arkansas, where he toils away doing whatever it is he does. There are few feelings worse in the world than learning your significant other is cheating on you. So can you imagine the shock, pain and anger you'd feel if you actually walked in on said significant other and another man in bed? That's exactly what happened to a Facebook user named Duston Holloway. Yet… he somehow resisted the urge to yell, scream, beat the guy up or throw his girlfriend's belongings all around the room. Instead, he calmly took note of the situation and snapped a bunch of photos of the pair between the sheets. He then shared these images on Facebook, partly to shame his lying girlfriend, but partly (we hope) to take pride in how he handled the situation. Shea Moisture isn’t often confused with PepsiCo. But, like the soda giant just a few weeks ago , the beauty brand has been forced to issue an apology in the face of mounting criticism over an ad its long-time customer base finds very distasteful. First, let’s take a look at the commercial in question: Shea Moisture Ad As you can see, the spot opens with an African-American woman who says she was mocked throughout the years for her natural curls. The video then transitions to a blonde woman who explains that she didn’t “know what to do” with her hair, followed by a redheaded woman complaining about dyeing her locks. The overall message here is for people to “break free from hair hate.” Unlike that horrid Kendall Jenner ad , It may be difficult to understand the controversy behind this commercial at first. A bit of background helps: The company was founded by Richelieu Dennis, who came to the United States from Liberia and who has always focused on women of color. As a result, those who have used and followed Shea Moisture for years believe this spot is an example of the company turning its back on its roots in the black community. Critics think the above commercial is an affront Shea’s core customer. Others don’t fault Shea for certain aspects of the ad, but believe the company wasn’t really seeing the big picture: “Seeing Shea Moisture make a campaign trying to expand their brand to white people by getting rid of their target audience is upsetting,” wrote another user. And these critiques didn’t fall on deaf ears. In an usual move, not only did the company yank this commercial… it issued a detailed, honest, sort of hilarious mea culpa in response. “Wow, okay – so guys, listen, we really f–ked this one up,” Shea wrote on Facebook, adding at length: “Please know that our intention was not – and would never be – to disrespect our community, and as such, we are pulling this piece immediately because it does not represent what we intended to communicate. “You guys know that we have always stood for inclusion in beauty and have always fought for our community and given them credit for not just building our business but for shifting the beauty landscape.” The statement concluded: While this campaign included several different videos showing different ethnicities and hair types to demonstrate the breadth of each individual’s hair journey, we must absolutely ensure moving forward that our community is well-represented in each one so that the women who have led this movement never feel that their hair journey is minimized in any way. Thank you all, as always, for the honest and candid feedback. We hear you. We’re listening. We appreciate you. We count on you. And we’re always here for you. Thank you, #SheaFam, for being there for us, even when we make mistakes. Here’s to growing and building together… Pretty good response, right? McDonald’s Employee Aids Police In Catching Up With Steve Stephens Yesterday, the 3 day search for murderer Steve Stephens came to an end after he was briefly chased by police then took his own life. Today, we get more details on how he was caught. According to CNN , McDonald’s chicken nuggets and a mindful employee ultimately lead to Stephens’ demise. Around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, Stephens pulled up to a McDonald’s in Harborcreek Township, Pennsylvania to order a 20-piece chicken McNuggets and a small fries. The employee working the window recognized him immediately. “[The employee] said, ‘I think that’s the guy. Can you double check I’m right?’” franchise owner Thomas DuCharme said. “When I saw him I knew it was him. It fits the profile. He didn’t look that different than the picture but his beard was trimmed down.” The unidentified employee called the cops and used some tricky maneuvers in an attempt to keep him there until the boys arrived: To buy time, DuCharme gave Stephens his nuggets and told him his fries would take an extra minute. But Stephens did not wait, he said. He took his nuggets and drove off. “He didn’t want to wait for the fries, which was fine,” DuCharme said. “We were just trying to make sure [the employee] got in contact with the state police.” Authorities literally chased Stephens as soon as he pulled out the parking lot. Reports say police rammed his car and while the car was spinning out of control, Stephens pulled a pistol and shot himself in the head.
