A Mississippi Restaurant Is Under Fire After An Employee Referred To Customers As “Black B**ches” On Their Receipt

Source: krisanapong detraphiphat / Getty Mississippi Restaurant Is Facing Backlash For One Employee’s Racism One employee working the drive-thru window at a restaurant in Mississippi ended up being fired on Monday after printing a derogatory name on a Black customer’s receipt. According to Alexia Washington, she and a friend visited Who Dat’s on Friday night and placed a meal order, but once they saw what was on the receipt, they were disgusted. “Something told me to look at my receipt,” Washington said, according to WMC Action News . Printed at the top of the receipt were the words “Black b**ches in silver car.” She said she immediately reported the inappropriate text to the manager at Who Dat’s, who made the employee apologize–But of course, she was still disturbed by the worker’s hateful message, which is why she decided to post a picture of it on her Facebook page. “My car isn’t silver, for one,” Washington wrote in the now-deleted post. “For two, I wasn’t rude. I didn’t have any type of hostility. He didn’t have any hostility with me.” She went on to explain her decision to share the message on social media, saying she “wasn’t going to say anything and [was going to] give them the opportunity to do right, but nothing has been done,” according to the Clarion Ledger . Washington claims she had requested that the employee who printed the slur on the receipt be fired, as she felt “racially ridiculed and demeaned as a African American Female.” When her messages to the restaurant’s higher-ups seemed to be ignored, that is when she decided to go public. “I seek justice for this hate crime and I will no longer remain silent,” she wrote on Facebook. “I’ve lived in Oxford for 5 years and I’m still having to deal with this type of ignorance. I’m not a rude or hateful person. I was not rude when I was at this establishment and was greeted with this kind of service. I will not stand for it.” Luckily for Washington, her decision to go public with the whole scenario paid off, as Who Dat’s posted a reply to the customer’s post, assuring her that the employee had indeed been fired. The restaurant’s owner, Wylie Coleman, even met with with Washington face to face after that. In a lengthy note posted to the restaurant’s Facebook, Coleman wrote that he sat down with Washington for an hour and a half on Tuesday “in shock and remorse” to discuss “a broad range of issues and goals in our lives as we work through the summer.” He said he and Washington “have so much common ground.” Coleman called the racist receipt “no joke” and “a vivid insult describing oppression which stabs four-five immediate generations.” He said he couldn’t explain the employee’s action and that it “did not represent us as a business or [personally].” He also declared that the decision to terminate and ban the employee was a joint one made with Washington, as it would be “the only way to move forward.” He added, “From the bottom of my heart I would like to apologize to the young ladies that were attacked by this injustice. We have a lot of work to do as humans and representative[s] of the community.”

Mary Duggar: Tragic Cause of Death Revealed

We have an update on the very sad death of Mary Duggar. As previously reported, the beloved matriarch of this famous family died on Sunday at her home in Arkansas. She was 78 years old. At the time this tragic news was broken, Duggar’s cause of death was unknown. But People Magazine and Radar Online have now confirmed that the mother of Jim Bob passed away due to an accidental drowning. On Wednesday evening, the latter outlet reported that a 911 call was made on Sunday for a “possible drowning” at Mary’s home in Springdale. The website writes that the call came in at 4:37 p.m. and emergency assistance was requested because a woman was said to be “unconscious” at the scene, based on a recording of this emergency message. This is all the information we have right now, but an investigation has been opened to uncover more of what led to this awful incident. The TLC stars announced the sudden death of their loved on Facebook earlier this week. “We are so sad to share that Grandma Duggar (Mary) passed away Sunday afternoon, June 9th, 2019. Mary Lester Duggar grew up in Farmington, Arkansas and was married almost 50 years to J.L. (Jimmy Lee) Duggar who preceded her in death,” the announcement opened. It continued as follows: “Mary found great joy in sharing her love for Jesus and her own story of how at age 15 she asked Christ to forgive her for her sins. It was at that time she committed the rest of her life to live for Him, a commitment she kept with devotion. “Grandma Mary Duggar has been on the TLC shows, 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On with her family for over 15 years. “She is greatly loved and will be missed so very much! “She lived a tremendous life as a follower of Christ, a wife, a devoted mother, a loving mother-in-law, and a much-loved grandmother.” Since this initial confirmation went public, multiple Duggar family members have also shared their own personal tributes and messages. Here are a few examples… Anna Duggar :  Great-Grandma Duggar went to heaven today to be with Jesus! What an awesome woman of faith and such a loving example of God’s love. She was a true soul-winner and loved everyone she met, telling them to turn from sin and trust Jesus for salvation! Miss her soooo much and we cherish each moment we were blessed to spend together! Lots of tears being shed here — grateful for all the prayers. Jill Duggar : My heart breaks. My grandma died suddenly today! She was an amazing woman of God and such a great example to so many! Grandma, you are greatly missed by all who knew you! Austin and Joy-Anna Duggar : Grandma Duggar… She was a strong woman, role model, godly counselor…and my favorite person to watch ‘The Price is Right’ show with. She is GREATLY loved & missed! Thank you all for your kind words and prayers for our family. Amy Duggar : My best friend passed away yesterday afternoon. Jesus sure took home a treasure. I’m at a loss for words, shaking as I even type this out. I loved her so much. She helped raise me, we did everything together. We’ve been on countless trips, we had lunch together 3 times a week, and if we weren’t together we were either texting or calling each other. I know you are in perfect peace and we will see you again. Jessa Duggar : We will keep her stories and memories alive for these little ones, but we’re sad that they will not have the blessing of knowing her in person as we have… As we look back and reflect on the gift God gave us in Grandma Duggar, we are so grateful. How we wish we would’ve hugged her more, said ‘I love you’ more, and spoken more of these sentiments to her while she was here with us. She was deeply loved, and she impacted the lives of so many people. While we weep over our loss, we realize that she has been united with the person she loved more than anyone here on this earth. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We love you, Grandma. Mary is survived by her daughter, Deanna, her son, Jim Bob, along with 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. May she rest in peace. View Slideshow: The Duggars: Who’s Courting? Pregnant? Next In Line? [UPDATED]

Bigoted Bacon Brigade: Investigation Into 3,100 Facebook Posts Reveals Racist, Sexist, Offensive Posts By Philadelphia Cops

Source: Hirurg / Getty Over 300 Philadelphia Cops Post Racist Facebook Comments We already know police ain’t s#!t , but stories like this still never fail to make us shake our head. According to ABCNews , the Plain View Project has been conducting an investigation into 3,100 Facebook posts made by Philadelphia police and found over 300 racist or offensive comments made by 328 active-duty officers. Many of these offensive posts included language that promoted violence against Blacks, Muslims, and immigrants. Some of the posts have comment threads between multiple officers who have no fear of telling the internet how they REALLY feel about non-white people. Says organization founder Emily Baker-White: “We found a very high and concerning number of posts that appear to endorse, celebrate or glorify violence and vigilantism,” Baker-White told ABC News in an interview on Tuesday. “We included posts that we thought could affect public trust and policing.” “We also included posts,” she added, “that seemed to emit some sort of bias against a group of people — whether if that’s a minority faith, a minority race, ethnicity, immigration status, whatever it is. We saw a number of posts that appeared to denigrate those groups of people.” Police Commissioner Richard Ross commented about the internal investigation over these posts: “We have reviewed the social media transcriptions you provided, and find many of them to be not only incongruent with our standards and policies, but also troubling on a human level,” Ross said. F**k the police.

Meek Mill Has Been Granted A New Trial

Read the original post:

Source: @JustInMyView / R1 Digital After years of fighting, it looks like Meek Mill has finally been granted a new hearing in front of a new court. The request was granted Monday, according to court documents. Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has been granted a new hearing in front of a new court, a milestone his legal team has been pursuing for years. The news comes just two weeks after the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office  filed an appeal  with the Pennsylvania Superior Court asking for a new trial with a new judge. “We’re looking forward to the oral argument before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and to, hopefully, having Meek’s conviction vacated,” Mill’s attorney Jordan Siev said in a statement. “In light of the District Attorney’s recent filing, where he supports the granting of a new trial to Meek and the recusal of Judge Brinkley, we hope to have this injustice rectified once and for all.” D.A. Wants Meek Mill To Have A New Trial, In Front Of A New Judge The ongoing battle between Meek’s legal team, which has called for Judge Brinkley to recuse herself from the case, and continues to refuse. According to NBC 10 : At the center of Mill’s legal battle is former Philadelphia police officer Reginald Graham, who is among a group of officers on an internal “Do Not Call” to testify list kept by the district attorney’s office. He was the sole officer to testify when Mill, whose legal name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, was first arrested on gun and drug charges in 2007. Since then, Graham’s credibility has been called into question. Several other cases involving the police officer have already been overturned, yet Mill’s conviction remains in place. Meek Mill Accepts Cosmopolitan Hotel’s Apology For Arrest Threat Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner highlighted the “”public perception of unfairness and bias” throughout Mills’ highly public trial, and instances where Brinkley overstepped her duties as a judge.” This story is developing. 3 Essential Takeaways from Ciara’s ‘Red Table Talk’ Interview

View original post here:

Source: Stan Evans / Stan Evans Since ending her engagement with rapper Future back in 2014, Ciara has become the poster woman for fairy tale endings. She showed us how to move on from a toxic relationship and reminded us that sometimes the greatest love can come after the most devastating heartbreak. After splitting with the Atlanta rapper, Ciara went on to build a beautiful relationship and family with NFL superstar, Russell Wilson, and together the two have become #RelationshipGoals right in front of our very eyes (and social media timelines). On the latest episode of Red Table Talk , the Smith-Pinkett ladies sat down with the queen of “leveling Up” herself to discuss transforming her “not so pleasant experiences” she went through that all led up to the pure bliss she’s in today. She revealed everything from her feelings of pain after ending her first engagement to the moment she realized that calmness meant that her now husband was the one. She even shared the highly anticipated “Ciara Prayer” that she prayed to bring a man like Russell into her life. Ciara’s positivity is admirable and after watching her open up to RTT ladies, we can’t help but to love her journey from emotional scars to “Beauty Marks” even more. So many gems were dropped during the ladies’ 25-minute chat at the red table, but here are a few key takeaways that we absolutely we love. Learn from All Your Mistakes and Experiences  Although she never mentioned Future by name, Ciara opened up about the most painful aspect of her split from the rapper citing a combination of the breakup itself, the idea of being a single parent, the pressure from the public and the fact that none of it was an ideal situation for her or her son as the reasons why her break up was so hard. It was only after she began to learn from her experience that she was able to move forward and attain the happiness she desired. Her revelation that “time does not stop” and her fear of “wasting time” is what helped her start the healing process as she realized that it would be worse to stay in an unhealthy situation that wasn’t going to get any better. “Knowing what you don’t want is really important, because it creates clarity”, Ciara mentioned. From this experience, she was able to start making different decisions and learn the type of love she wanted for her and her son. Loving Yourself Is Huge Ciara recalled that the moment she realized it was time to end her relationship [with Future] and stand on her own was the same moment she made a commitment to love herself first. “I remember one time I was working out on the elliptical machine and I was just not sure about do I stay or what direction do I go? What’s the right thing to do? It’s easy to do this, but is the easy thing the right thing?” Ciara said. She explained how taking their son, Future, on vacation helped her gain confidence in herself to walk away from that situation. It was then that she committed to loving herself first because once she truly learned to love herself she was able to be loved the way she deserved and most importantly, she was able to give love the right way. “The Prayer” During the fishbowl question segment of the show, a fan got right to the point and asked Ciara, “what was the specific prayer you prayed to get Russell? Hook a sister up!” While blushing, Ciara revealed what she prayed for during that time, stating, “when you pray for things you should be very specific and very clear about what you want, to the point that you can taste it”. She continued, “you can feel it through your bones and body. It’s a very spiritual thing because you’re getting lost by praying and speaking and declaring what you want in your life”. Ciara went on to explain that she prayed that she would learn from the wisdom she gained, for discernment, for a God-fearing man and for someone that loved kids. As Jada interjected, she mentioned that a man shouldn’t be a good man for you, but rather he should be a better man for himself, first. Listen and take notes, ladies! Hanging In Little Rock: Arkansas Neighborhood Livid Over Resident’s Racist Noose Effigy Facebook Post

Source: Congressional Quarterly / Getty Facebook Post Depicting Noose And Confederate Flag Enrages Arkansas Neighborhood It’s the year 2019 and racism and hate crimes are still on the menu. According to Fox16 , a neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas is outraged over a resident’s Facebook post that depicts a brown mannequin being hanged from a noose next to a confederate flag. “This day of time, there’s no place for it,” says Ricky Allen. “I saw a video of a noose, of a person of color, hanging from it. It’s kind of disturbing.” To make matters worse, the owner of the home has fixed her face to explain that the imagery “is not about race”… “Well, hell, I’ll take it down. This is a Halloween decoration – a Creeper. You know the movie Jeepers Creepers,” says the woman. The woman claims no one has stopped by her house to tell her the mannequin is offensive. “They could have knocked on the door and asked instead of calling the news out,” says the woman. Ma’am. B!tc#. What in the HELL makes you think that a Black person is gonna knock on your door for a conversation when there is a symbol of their impending death hanging in your front yard? MOREOVER, a “Halloween decoration”?!?! Ho, it’s JUNE! SMH.
