Jarrod Haschert Asks Ronda Rousey to Marine Corps Ball Ronda Rousey Accepts Marine Corps Ball Invite But the undefeated UFC champion is all about United States Marine Jarrod Haschert, a 22-year old who struck up the nerve to ask Rousey out on Facebook last week. And not just to the movies, either, but to the U.S, Marine Corps Ball on December 11. “You are my celebrity. I love everything you do and I think you are a phenomenal person,” Haschert says in the above video. After not responding for a few days, Rousey then spoke to TMZ in a Whole Foods parking lot… and she said yes! Under one condition, that is. He’s gotta be a gentleman,” Rousey says. “I’m not a first date kind of a girl.” But Rousey does make it very clear in this interview, she’ll “totally go” to the event with Haschert. This isn’t the first time (at all) that a layperson has asked a celebrity out on a date. But most of the promposals previously recorded and released (below) went unanswered. Gotta give props here to Rousey for coming through in the affirmative, don’t you?

Via NYDailyNews A black man from Michigan and a police officer in Ohio have agreed to sit down for “a conversation” about an incendiary video showing their confrontation during a traffic stop, police said. The video, filmed by John Felton when he was in Dayton, shows the officer saying he pulled Felton over because they made “direct eye contact.” “This is why I hate coming to Dayton,” Felton, from Detroit, wrote on his Facebook page when he posted the video Aug. 15. “What kind of s— is that? Dayton Police this cop needs to be on desk duty. Fake ass white collar thugs eager to meet their quota.” The cell phone clip started getting attention days after it went online, and came to national prominence late last week, getting nearly 50,000 views on Felton’s Facebook alone. Brooke Beaton domestic violence pictures

Brooke Beaton, 27, put a face to domestic violence after her boyfriend left her with two black eyes and a bruised shoulder. Beaton called police on August 22 to report the assault. The next day, she called her childhood friend Tiffany Thoelke, who is a freelance photographer, and planned a photo shoot. Thoelke took several shots of Beaton and posted the pictures on her Facebook page, along with a message about raising awareness about domestic violence featuring the hashtag, #SilenceHidesViolen

This is the Problem with Proposing Near a Body of Water

We've documented plenty of heartwarming proposals and plenty of awkward proposals over the years. But what about a proposal in the guy opens the ring box… only for the ring to plunge into the nearby water and put a slight dent in his romantic plans? Say hello to Matthew Picca. He had everything all set to pop the big question to Kayla Harrity outside of the Old American Fish bar in Southpost, North Carolina. “Matthew got down on one knee at our favorite place in South Port tonight,” Harrity wrote on Facebook, alongside photos of the moment. “Just as he opened the ring box, the ring fell out of the box and thru the crack on the deck.” OOPS! Also: Uh-oh! In response to the snafu, Picca and a handful of relatives who were on hand jumped (fully clothed!) into the water, armed with flashlights and an important mission. Finally, someone found the ring (after 1.5 hours!), the crowd cheered and also started to change “Propose again!” “It was the best feeling in the world,” says Harrity. “My fiancé, soaking wet, smelling like salty, fishing water, proceeded to get down on one knee and put the beautiful ring on my finger!” She added that the newly-engaged couple then returned to the restaurant and bought shots for the man who tracked down the diamond. As they should have, of course.

Anna stuck by him through that public relations mess, with the parents of three (now for) saying she knew of this and forgiven him for it long ago. Things have just gotten much, much worse, however. In the wake of recent revelations that Josh lived a “double life” and has been “unfaithful” to his wife, many critics have been urging Anna to run. Even her own family is echoing calls for an exodus. Earlier this week, Anna’s brother slammed Josh Duggar in the comments of his sister Jessa’s Facebook page, calling him out in epic fashion. Anna’s sister Susanna Keller , who was previously blackballed by the hypocritical Duggars for having a child out of wedlock, followed suit. Both of her siblings did not mince words when it came to Anna’s future, saying they would love to see her move out and move on from him. Marcy Borders, a mother of two who lived in Bayonne, New Jersey, was diagnosed with stomach cancer last year. She died Monday at the age of 42. Her brother, Michael Borders, posted a message on Facebook Monday morning asking for people to pray for her. Burger King Makes Offer to McDonald’s: Ready for the McWhopper?

Burger King has extended a temporary olive branch to its arch rival. Although no olives of any kind are involved. In full-page ads that ran in The New York Times and The Chicago Tribune, along with the commercial featured here, the fast food company reaches out to McDonald’s and asks if it wants to collaborate on an item. The McWhopper would be available on September 21, the International Day of Peace, and it would be offered in a special pop-up store in Atlanta that would constructed in a parking lot between a McDonald’s and a Burger King for that one day only. “Dear Burger King,” McDonald’s has responded to this ad on Facebook, adding: “Inspiration for a good cause… great idea. We love the intention but think our two brands could do something bigger to make a difference. We commit to raise awareness worldwide, perhaps you’ll join us in a meaningful global effort?”

Rob Kardashian: Finally Getting the Help He Needs?

For several months now, Rob Kardashian has been in hiding, suffering from some combination of addiction, depression and compulsive eating issues. Reports of Rob entering rehab have proven inaccurate on several occasions, but it seems the troubled 28-year-old has been working on improving himself and his situation from the privacy of his sister Khloe’s home. The first promising signs came earlier this month when Rob made peace with Kim Kardashian on Instagram. Not only have the formerly feuding siblings been interacting on social media, Kim reports that she and Rob have even been hiking and working out together. Now, Radar Online is reporting that there’s more cause to be optimistic, as family insiders are claiming that Rob’s been undergoing in-home therapy designed to help him overcome his personal demons. “Rob has been doing very intense therapy at home,” says one source. “He doesn’t ever want to work a program. None of them can work a 12-step program or anything public, because it would hardly be anonymous.” The insider says that in addition to sobering up, Rob is focused on getting back into shape with the help of his sisters: “The Kardashian girls are intent on helping Rob lose weight, because they believe his image issue is at the heart of his personal struggles,” says the insider. “He is intent on beating this through working out and/or whatever is necessary. “He wants to be the brother that was able to take care of his sisters like he promised his father he would before he died.” An admirable goal, Rob.
