Faced with new competition from The Voice and in need of a ratings splash, The X Factor is reportedly close to giving control of its stage over to a Kardashian. Indeed, not only is Khloe a candidate , TMZ confirms from a previous rumor, she’s the competition’s front-runner for female hosting duties! The X Factor is expected to name one female and one male host, and sources say Khloe’s recent screen test impressed Simon Cowell and other producers. Along with new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato , show insiders believe Kardashian would help lure in fresh, young viewers. One person in the know tells TMZ “there’s at least an 85% chance” Khloe is named co-host. A decision is needed in the near future, as The X Factor will need hosts in place when it goes live next month. (Season 2 premieres over two nights, September 12 and 13, next week.) The X Factor find not have a Season 2 host. But it now has a Season 2 poster. With a pink background and the incredibly witty use of the letter X, the Fox competition has unveiled the following promotional shot of L.A. Reid, Simon Cowell, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato : These four comprise the judging table, of course, but producers are still on the lookout for one male and one female judge. Khloe Kardashian has made it clear she’s interested in the gig, while Kevin McHale of Glee has become a popular choice on the boys’ side. All we know is that the series better make a selection soon: Season 2 kicks off on September 12. Are you excited for The X Factor? Will you be tuning in?

Britney Spears walked off the set of The X Factor on Monday after a drag queen showed up doing an apparently awful rendition of Spears’ “(You Drive Me) Crazy.” How come? Spears explained today that she was just following the instructions of Demi Lovato.. who is incidentally 11 years her junior. Lovato – who herself reacted unfavorably to a rap about bath salts this week – apparently told Spears during the performance: “Let’s go.” Spears then followed orders, departing the the set and returning later to tell the performer that she liked the tribute – but it wasn’t X Factor material. For her part, Lovato said she felt bad for the singer, who was apparently on the floor crying after the performance because he thought he nailed it. Sorry dude. Not the case. It does take some guts to dress in drag and perform a Britney Spears song in front of Britney Spears. But you should probably go into it expecting a walk-off. Or at least a great deal of mockery.
How much will Katie Holmes get in her split from Tom Cruise? That depends on a number of variables, but the prenup she signed in 2006 basically cuts her out of the vast majority of her fortune, according to reports. One source calls the prenup she signed “long, tight and stacked in Tom’s favor.” Not that she minds. She just wants freedom for herself and her daughter. A source close to Cruise says reports that she will receive $3 million for every year they were married are false, and that she will receive next to nothing . At the same time, “She’s not about the money. She’s not that girl. She loves to work. Money is not that important to her. She makes plenty on her own.” A major sticking point in the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce – besides custody of Suri – may be child support, which she reportedly wants from the star. As for whether Katie will challenge the prenup, it’s pretty common when a divorcing couple is in conflict, though it’s unclear on what grounds she’d contest it. Katie sources are not ruling that out, but they insist she’s not out for cash and cite the prenup as proof of her intentions: she didn’t marry for his money. So why’d she leave? Reportedly out of fear that their daughter, now six years old, would be dragged deep into his controversial Scientology belief system. Holmes’ decision to file for divorce blindsided Cruise, but it appears she had been planning to leave him , or at least thinking about it, for up to six months. Incidentally, Forbes ‘ new list of highest paid actors in Hollywood has Tom at #1, by a wide margin, with $75 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Karl Laventure, a man believed to be high on bath salts, attacked police officers and took 20 jolts from a Taser as he threatened to eat them yesterday. Frightened golfers at a driving range in Alpharetta, Ga., called police when Laventure went on a rampage, running around half-naked waving a golf club. Video footage shows the crazed man, 21, being held down by several officers and screaming incoherently about God, Biggie, Tupac, etc. “I’ll eat you! Don’t make me eat you!” he threatened. Karl Laventure (Zombie Cannibal) Attack The case is eerily similar to that of Rudy Eugene, who ate the face off a homeless man in Miami, Fla., and sparked rumors of a zombie apocalypse . Eugene, also believed to be on bath salts while attacking Ronald Poppo , who miraculously survived, was surprisingly not on anything but pot . In any case, he was shot to death by Miami police. In yesterday’s incident, Laventure “just came running at us,” Officer Ross Hancock of the Gwinnett County (Ga.) Police Department told WSBTV. When his partner blasted him with painful pepper spray, “He didn’t even wipe his eyes, he just kept them open.” The cops then tasered him. Although that took Laventure down, he hopped right back up again. “We had to Tase him approximately five more times,” said Hancock. “It took several officers to hold him down to get him cuffed … He was still talking gibberish, still cussing, still saying he wanted to eat us, eat other people.” He reportedly told the officers “Im’ma eat you!” repeatedly. The man was restrained long enough to get him to the hospital, but there the insanity started again and he had to be tasered another 14 times . He was charged with misdemeanor offenses of disorderly conduct and obstruction. The DEA is attempting to control the wave of dangerous synthetic drugs that go by bath salts , K2, Spice, Ivory Wave, Vanilla Sky, Bliss, and Purple Rain. “The chemicals that have been made illegal and designated Schedule 1 controlled substances are mephedron, methylone and MDPV – but they are the ingredients, not the products themselves,” DEA spokesperson Barbara Carreno said. “The challenge with synthetic drugs is that any good chemist can tweak their molecular structure and formula and you have a new product, which isn’t illegal,” she explained. “It is hard for the law to keep up with them.”
Dr. Travis Stork can lay claim to one of the shortest engagements in the history of The Bachelor, splitting from Sarah Stone before the season even finished airing. Fortunately, his second engagement worked out a bit better. Saturday, The Doctors co-host wed his girlfriend of over three years, pediatrician Dr. Charlotte Brown. The couple got engaged last year on vacation in Hawaii. Surrounded by family and friends, the two gorgeous physicians exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony nestled in the Colorado mountains. Stork couldn’t have been more thrilled: “My days as a Bachelor are nearing an end!” he Tweeted. “My wedding ring has arrived… getting excited!” Congratulations go out to Travis and Charlotte. They were clearly great catches whose days as a Bachelor and Bachelorette were limited. As for the current season airing on ABC, The Bachelorette spoilers hint at an interesting resolution to the June 22 finale. Follow the link if you date!
It’s Paris Fashion Week, which means one thing: we’re about to be bombarded with countless examples of hideous outfits that pompous designers and celebrities pretend are hip and chic and totally the next trend. In reality, they’re just stupid looking. Case in point: Kim Kardashian and the following black dress, which appears to be growing some kind of weed along one side of it. She may wanna call in an exterminator for this monstrosity… Kardashian, of course, is accompanied here to the Stephane Rolland Fashion Show by boyfriend Kanye West, about whom she recently gushed to Oprah . Might these two shack up? Get married? Have kids? We’ll save those pressing questions for another time and focus instead now on the contraption attacking Kim. Give this dress a grade:
