WWII Veteran, Lawrence E. "Shine" Thornton, Killed In Brutal Attack

If there was ever a story to make Chris Brown look slightly less bad, this might be it. Four Mississippi teenagers attacked WWII veteran Lawrence E. “Shine” Thornton in his driveway and the 87-year-old man died from the injuries sustained in this brutal mugging. WWII Veteran Dies After Brutal Attack Lawrence E. “Shine” Thornton, from Greenville, Mississippi, died two days after four young men shoved him to the ground to steal his wallet while he was in his own driveway. His life, says Eric Scheiner, was “a story of hard work, overcoming adversity, belief in God and finding some success in doing what you love.” The accused, Terrance Morgan, 19; Edward Johnson, 19; Leslie Litt, 18; and Geblonski Murray, 18, have each been charged with capital murder and are being held without bond. They are also charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Abandoned Dog Gets Rescued, Gets a Haircut, Gets a Fresh Start

Like the story of an abused pit bull rescued by a concerned citizen, we have a new uplifting dog tale to share with readers. Earlier this fall, an extraordinarily shaggy canine was found by Brenda Gough’s husband near the family’s farm in Ontario. It was so scared and so heavily matted that the poor creature could barely walk. So Gough quickly brought the pooch to the Park Road Veterinary Clinic where she works. Abadoned Dog Gets Fresh Start Once there, the dog was named Shrek (“out of endearment,” the clinic wrote on Facebook. “The irony of him being found near a pond… how he will go from shy and afraid to loved and comforted with a family.”) and he was given a massive makeover. According to the clinic, 3.5 pounds of hair was shaved off, an incredible transformation depicted here: “He is still terrified and nervous,” Gough told Metro. “But looking for human contact, and learning all about love.” Three days after Shrek was discovered, he was interacting with other dogs and permitting people to cradle him. “He’s a special little guy with a huge fan club,” Gough told Metro, referring to all on Facebook who have shared Shrek’s story. “The outpouring of support from around the world has raised my faith in humanity.”

People Aint Isht: Mother Murders Autistic Son And 9-Year-Old Daughter After Losing Custody To Their Father

You can’t get much more heartless and pathetic than this. SMH. Mother Murders Her Children After Losing Custody To Their Father A California mother who recently lost custody of her 2 children has been charged with doing the unthinkable and taking their lives before trying to take her own. via ABC News A mother involved in a contentious custody case has been charged with killing her 13-year-old autistic son and 9-year-old daughter in California after a judge ordered them returned to their father in Georgia. Authorities weren’t releasing many details, but one of the special circumstances filed by prosecutors against 42-year-old Marilyn Edge alleges the children were poisoned. Edge, of Scottsdale, Ariz., is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. She was charged Monday with two counts of murder with special circumstances in the deaths of her daughter Faith and son Jaelen. Edge lost custody of them on Wednesday in a Georgia case then texted her ex-husband, Mark Edge, two days later that she would bring the children back on Sunday, his attorney Marian Weeks said. The children were found Saturday in a Santa Ana hotel room. Mark Edge was informed about the death of the children early Sunday by Atlanta police and was taken to a hospital for duress. Marilyn Edge could be eligible for the death penalty if convicted. She was driving a car that crashed Saturday into an electrical box outside a shopping complex in Costa Mesa. She refused to get out of the car and tried to choke herself with an electrical cord as rescuers attempted to free her, Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. Gay Matrimony-dom: 95-Year-Old World War II Vet Marries His 67-Year-Old Partner

Love is love. Elderly Gay Couple Get Married Dayum, they’ve been together for 20 years. According to Mail Online An elderly military couple married at their veterans home yesterday in the center’s first gay ceremony. 95-year-old World War II veteran John Banvard, married his partner, 67-year-old Gerard Nadeau, who served in Vietnam. The two have been together for 20 years, but had to wait until the recent Supreme Court decision to legally tie the knot. They moved to the veterans home in Chula Vista, California three years ago and decided to hold the ceremony there, among their friends. The ceremony was small and simple. After exchanging vows, the two men were sealed with a kiss. ‘It was something we wanted to do for a long time,’ Mr Banvard told 10 News. Their ceremony, however, wasn’t completely welcomed by the rest of the home’s residents. Facility director Neal Asper told Fox 5 San Diego that news of the gay ceremony was ‘somewhat controversial’. As for the residents who have complained to him about it: ‘I told them, they have the right to get married here just like everybody else.’ But some residents still didn’t like the idea. Someone even contacted the Westboro Baptist Church, a notoriously anti-gay group in Florida, in hopes that they would get the ceremony moved off the property. On the day of the wedding though, there were no protestors and those who objected to the ceremony simply didn’t attend. ‘Oh that’s they problem not mine,’ Nadeau said about those opposed to the wedding. ‘But you know what this will do? Open the door for other people.’ One resident said that while he disagreed with two men getting married he respected their legal right to do so. ‘I just know that it’s against my faith and my religion, but as Americans they have a right to do what they want to do.’ Everyone deserves to marry who they want, but those have to be some dusty old smash sessions! Robert Pattinson Questions Good Looks, May Have Body Dysmorphia

Have you seen the new set of Robert Pattinson Dior ads ? They make it rather clear: The actor is smoking! But try telling that to Robert Pattinson’s harshest critic: Robert Pattinson! In the new issue of InStyle UK, The Twilight Saga stud comes across like ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart , dour… reflective… somber… questioning the same looks that leave young women screaming in the streets upon his appearance. Robert Pattinson: I May Have Body Dysmorphia “Maybe I have body dysmorphia,” he wonders. “I’m quite lanky. You can’t exactly see me in a sports film or something, can you? I’m never going to play ‘one of the guys.” But, come on, Robert. You must be aware you’re handsome, right? “It depends, sometimes,” he says. “But I’m weird about my looks. Once you get photographed a lot it changes you. I remember when I first did Twilight I didn’t care about how I looked – there was less pressure.” And now? “Everyone who works with me knows they’ll have to sit there and wait for me to go through my process of having my panic attack about how I look.” And while he’s only 27, with a lot of life and a long career ahead of him, Robert was asked by the magazine how he wants to be remembered. As a sizzling stud muffin? Not exactly. “I don’t know,” he says. “I guess I’d want them to say I’m a really good friend.” Feast your eyes below on a couple Robert Pattinson photos from the InStyle spread and ask yourself: How can this guy question his looks?!?

Faith Hill-Tim McGraw Divorce Rumors: Denied By Singers’ Reps

Reports that long-married, superstar couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are headed toward a $135 million divorce are false, according to their reps. Exhale, country music fans. Exhale. Faith Hill, Tim McGraw Divorce Rumors Denied This month, the duo graced the cover of the National Enquirer , which claimed their marriage was over as McGraw feels like he’s mistreated by his wife. Hill, for her part, allegedly has “trust issues” and apparently accused her husband of almost 17 years of having “sexual chemistry” with Taylor Swift. With both Faith Hill and Tim McGraw up in arms, the latter is “threatening to walk,” claims the tabloid’s source, but the rep tells a different story. While McGraw is close with Swift, rumors of chemistry between them are largely speculative, and he said recently that he is happily married, sharing the secret: “The easy answer is just to shut up and not say anything, that’s easy. But really it’s a lot of give and take and it’s a lot of no ultimatums,” he said. As for the divorce rumors themselves, a rep for McGraw says the claims are “ totally false and ridiculous ,” while Hill’s rep also denied them unequivocally. Case closed?

SMH: Black GOP Group Petitions To Impeach Obama In Order To “Free Themselves From Governmental Tyranny”

Black GOP Group Files Article Of Impeachment Against Obama Of course the National Black Republican Association would be based out of Florida … According to Fox Nation: The National Black Republican Association (NBRA) based in Sarasota, FL, headed by Chairman Frances Rice, filed Articles of Impeachment against President Barack Obama with the following language: We, black American citizens, in order to free ourselves and our fellow citizens from governmental tyranny, do herewith submit these Articles of Impeachment to Congress for the removal of President Barack H. Obama, aka, Barry Soetoro, from office for his attack on liberty and commission of egregious acts of despotism that constitute high crimes and misdemeanors. On July 4, 1776, the founders of our nation declared their independence from governmental tyranny and reaffirmed their faith in independence with the ratification of the Bill of Rights in 1791. Asserting their right to break free from the tyranny of a nation that denied them the civil liberties that are our birthright, the founders declared: “When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” – Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. There are 10 articles listed, but these stood out the most: ARTICLE 9 He has violated the Constitution when, on January 4, 2012, (1) he bypassed the U. S. Senate to appoint three members of the National Labor Relations Board, actions that were ruled unconstitutional by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit which affirmed previous decisions by the Court of Appeal for the D.C. Circuit and the Third Circuit; and (2) he bypassed the U. S. Senate to appoint Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. ARTICLE 10 He has intimidated whistleblowers and brought twice as many prosecutions against whistleblowers as all prior presidents combined. Egregiously, while refusing to prosecute anyone for actual torture, he prosecuted former Central Intelligence Agency employee John Kiriakou for disclosing the torture program. Wherefore Barack H. Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office. Discuss… Continue reading
