Star-struck millennial heart throbs Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson made ALL the headlines with their whirlwind romance this year. They were head over heels in love, no doubt about it. But all good things, as the saying goes, must come to an end in a matter of months. And you’re dang right that’s in the present tense. Do people get engaged after just a few weeks of dating if they don’t love each other? Do people adopt pigs together if they do not love each other?! Do people get multiple tattoos dedicated to their significant other if they don’t love each other? OK, sure, love is not a requirement for any of these things … you can be mentally unstable and do all of them just fine. But Ariana and Pete did them out of love, and that’s just a fact. They just broke up, and that’s unfortunate, but sometimes the greatest romances take some time to come together, and it’s obvious that now is not the best time for Ariana. She still seems to be reeling from the death of Mac Miller, and it’s likely that she’s still dealing with the trauma from the Manchester bombing as well. So maybe she needs to take some time to heal. Maybe a few months, maybe a few years. Maybe she’ll date around during that time, and maybe Pete will, too. But as she sang in her song dedicated to him, he’s her soulmate. And soulmates are forever. NO by Hilton Hater Neither Pete Davidson nor Ariana Grande were involved in THE MOST DRAMATIC ROSE CEREMONY of all-time… but their relationship has still followed the trajectory of those who get together on The Bachelor. The comedian and the artist were never dating in a traditional sense of the term. They went out. They goofed around. They got all silly on social media. They were almost, literally, a walking Saturday Night Live skit. It was all cute and fun and we’re sure quite enjoyable for Davidson and Grande, but then real life interjected: Mac Miller died of a drug overdose . Sources have all indicated that Grande (understandably) took the death of her ex-boyfriend very hard. Ariana’s been in a dark place for about a month now. Such a trauma could spell the end of many relationships, but especially one such as this; one essentially built on partying and cosplay. There’s simply no sturdy base here for anything as dramatic as a loved one’s death. Mix in the awkwardness of that loved one being Grande’s previous serious boyfriend… and here we are. Davidson may be equipped with a 10-inch long penis, but he simply isn’t equipped with the emotional maturity to deal with a tragedy of this nature. YES by Simon Delott This summer, in the wake of Ariana’s engagement to Pete Davidson , I was so confident that they would stay together. Now, I’m eating crow. I didn’t see this coming. “Sociologists at NYU used decades of statistical data from 4,500 families and found that couples in which the man was much taller than the woman were more likely to stay together,” I wrote at the time. “Folks, Ariana Grande is 5 feet tall. Pete Davidson is 6-foot-3,” I continued. “Those 15 inches could see them through to the end.” We all know that the best way to discuss love and romance is using cold hard numbers and statistical analysis. I’m not sure where I went wrong. After all, if a spur-of-the-moment relationship between a pop star with baggage and a comedian who’s never met an impulse on which he didn’t act can’t work out … what hope is there for the rest of us? In all seriousness, though, the cause of their breakup was reportedly largely Mac Miller’s tragic death earlier this fall. The passing of Ariana’s very recent ex, so soon after her return to the public eye, left her wounded. It was all too much. But that doesn’t mean that these two won’t ever get together again. They’re both still young, and it sounds like this breakup was as amicable as a dropped engagement can possibly be. My real question is this: Is Ariana going to sing the song, “Pete Davidson,” when she goes on tour in the future? There’s no non-awkward way to either sing or skip that song unless they get back together. Just saying. After all, how could a singer with a four-octave vocal range ever relate to a comic whose style is so painfully one-note? Let’s forget for a moment that Pete mocked the Manchester bombing that traumatized Ariana and so many of her fans. And let’s ignore, for now, the fact that Davidson said he sympathizes with the man who groped Grande or that he beamed with pride over the fact that Bill Clinton ogled Ari at a freakin’ funeral. (As a guy with a Hillary Clinton tattoo, that must have been an extremely confusing time for Pete.) What we’re focusing on today is the fact that Grande is clearly a woman who’s drawn to virtuoso talent, and despite spending the past four years in the best comedy college imaginable, Davidson (rather ironically) comes up short when his abilities are compared to Ariana’s. On a more serious note, insiders have claimed that the breakup was at least partially the result of Ariana’s grief over the death of her previous boyfriend, the immensely gifted Mac Miller. There’s been a lot of talk about Pete and Ari’s perceived insensitivity toward their exes in publicly admitting that they’d secretly longed for each other for years (in other words, since well before they were single). To be clear, both parties’ duties to their exes ended the moment they broke things off – but who wants to live in a world where we’re all just fulfilling our minimum obligations to one another? It’s not hard to see how Ariana might have wound up with some seriously conflicted feelings – as well as some major doubts – in the wake of Miller’s overdose. But in the end, out guess is that a talent gap wider than Pete and Ariana’s height difference also played a significant role in bringing this ill-fated romance to a halt. This is the kind of story that’ll make nonbelievers stand up and declare their faith in God! Imagine being a kid again . Your parents let your friends come over to play and you guys are all hanging out in your backyard, when you decide to hit up the treehouse. While most kids would then settle into a game of cops and robbers and the like, one Missouri “miracle” boy’s day of fun ended very differently earlier this month. In an almost fatal accident, 10-year-old Xavier Cunningham was playing in his backyard with friends when a swarm of wasps attacked them, causing Xavier to fall face-first out of his treehouse. What’s more, his face crashed right into a metal rotisserie skewer the boys “had found and staked into the ground to avoid stepping on it,” NBC reports. The boy’s father told the site, “He was more concerned with the yellow jackets than the skewer.” From NBC : “The skewer drove through Xavier’s face, all the way to the back of his head. He then ran inside to his mother, who immediately brought him to the hospital. Xavier eventually ended up at the University of Kansas Hospital, where Dr. Koji Ebersole assessed the path of the skewer, which somehow circumvented Xavier’s eyes, brain, and major blood vessels.” In a Youtube video posted about the incident, Dr. Ebersole says he was “amazed that he was alive, let alone, awake and talking.” According to the good doctor , “The skewer somehow managed to nearly brush — but completely miss — two vital blood vessels when it bored through Xavier’s head. The trajectory the rod went ‘is essentially one in a million,’ Ebersol said. ‘I just can’t believe that.’ The unlikely path the skewer traveled allowed Ebersol the time to assemble a team of about 100 people and come up with a plan to remove it. But Xavier wasn’t out of the woods just yet. The square skewer had a knob on the end of it, which could have still damaged those two vessels on the way out, Ebersol said. Additionally, the skewer had penetrated Xavier’s jaw muscle, prohibiting him from opening his mouth for a breathing tube during surgery. The massive medical team devised a plan though, and were able to remove the skewer without any further damage.” After nearly losing his life, Xavier’s dad says his 10-year-old is back to “his same ol’ self. Welcome to the great marital debate of 2018. Earlier on Friday, multiple sources reported that Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber has entered a New York City courthouse… obtained a marriage license… and exchanged vows. That’s to say: Baldwin and Bieber are married!!!!!!! How exciting and unexpected, right? Yes, if these reports are accurate. But a pretty reliable source who is very close to the situation is telling everyone to please slow his or her roll. Because no marriage has actually taken place. “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!” the 21-year-old model Tweeted Friday evening. But here’s the the thing; this message has since been mysteriously deleted, so make of that what you will. And here’s the other thing: People Magazine is sticking by its claim that Bieber and Baldwin are husband and wife. According to this publication’s sources, Bieber and Baldwin exchanged vows this afternoon and signed their marriage license. They are absolutely, 100%, legally wed. HOWEVER, Hailey “feels a civil ceremony and their ‘real’ wedding are two separate things,” one source explains, adding that the stars will hold a much bigger gathering somewhere down the line. Adds a religious source, dubbed as such by People: “What happened at the courthouse is a courthouse thing – a legal thing. But marriage is two people making a vow before God and the people they love.” (Just to be clear: That’s completely false. A marriage, by definition, is a legally binding agreement between two people.) TMZ, meanwhile, first broke the news of Justin and Hailey entering a courthouse in New York. Benjamin Howell A woman in Memphis says her date stole her car so that he could take out another woman. Yes, you read that correctly, Faith Pugh told ABC 6 , it happened when she went to meet Kelton Griffin for dinner. Griffin didn’t drive so they took Pugh’s car. According to ABC 6 , Griffin asked if she would go into a gas station to buy him a cigar. But when she got out, she says he sped off in her car. Hours later, Pugh says a friend sent her a text saying Griffin had just asked her out. The friend told Pugh where they were. Pugh showed up to a drive-in theater with police and found the pair in her car. Griffin was arrested on the spot, reports ABC 6 . Last week EA Sports unveiled the game’s hip-hop fueled soundtrack , and today we get the first ad for the game, and it features some big names. Nothing screams its Madden season more than the games over the top commercials that are never short on star power. Madden NFL’15 featured the hilarious Kevin Hart and Dave Franco to help get the masses hyped for the unofficial start of football season. This year the folks at EA take it to another level with the latest spot which features Lil Dicky, Saturday Night Live’s Chris Redd, Nicki Minaj , Quavo who also alongside his two friends penned the official song for the game, Philadelphia 76er’s all-star center and NBA Live’19 cover boy Joel Embiid and the Houston Texans DeAndre Hopkins. In the 3:37 commercial, Redd tells the story of Will, and his legendary play call the won him an extremely close game. The grand tale features Minaj revealing she is a huge Madden fan and shares her rather epic Gamertag. Embiid makes a cameo playing as his hometown champs the Philadelphia Eagles on the Madden NFL Overdriv e mobile game. Quavo gets involved after Will accidentally calls the rapper while celebrating his victory with some epic trash talk and decides to put him on a song. To cement Will’s legend, DeAndre Hopkins immortalizes the Madden gamer’s face by making it into a diamond pendant. We honestly really want to see if Nicki does play Madden regularly or was that just a line for the commercial. BUT nevertheless, the spot carries on the tradition of memorable Madden commercials. Madden NFL’19 lands on shelves August 10th, if you pre-ordered the games Hall of Fame edition, you can play three days early on August 7th.
