Transformers: Dark of the Moon Opens to Solid — Not Great — Early Crowds

Transformers: Dark of the Moon opened to a solid $13.5 million from its late Tuesday /early Wednesday screenings, including $5.5 million from the 3-D-only presentations leading the way Tuesday night. The figures exceed the early grosses from the series’ 2007 original but fall short of the $16 million that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen pulled down at midnight in 2009. Paramount currently anticipates a six-day holiday weekend tally above $160 million; drop back by Movieline tomorrow for our own Weekend Forecast predictions, which will be significantly higher. Alyssa Milano Self Shot Pregnancy Pictures of the Day

Here is a picture of Alyssa Milano ruining the concept of self shot pics….they say she’s a social media expert celebrity who blocked me on twitter along with everyone who doesn’t like my twitter earthquake coverage , but she’s doing these self shot pics all wrong…and not just cuz she’s pregnant and pregnancy is digusting…but because she’s not fucking naked. I appreciate the fact that she’s using the hipster photographer app for her pics…but I don’t appreciate the fact that she’s not showing her hipster bush…that I know is a serious bush strictly based on her arm hair… Pregnant or not, if you’re gonna take a pic of yourself in front of the mirror, you gotta do it right…and that’s naked… I’m an expert on these things cuz I spend 90 percent of my day looking at self shot pics, or recruiting girls to take them, the other 10 percent of my day is spent shitting, crying, trying to masturbate- usually all at the same time… This Post is Dedicated to our Fallen Soldiers in Japan. Support our Troops.

The Two and Only Have Fallen

‘Transformers: Dark Of The Moon’ Is ‘Epic,’ Michael Bay Says

‘It takes awhile to get it right,’ director tells MTV News of ‘Dark of the Moon.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Kara Warner Optimus Prime in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: DreamWorks Michael Bay has been admirably open about what he — and many fans of his “Transformers” franchise — view as the second film’s failings resulting from a rushed, post-writers’-strike production schedule. And he’s promised to right those cinematic wrongs with the third installment in the series, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” Early looks at footage from the upcoming action flick — a tantalizing teaser trailer and a balletic Super Bowl spot — seem to indicate he’s accomplished that goal. “I think it takes awhile to get it right,” he explained to MTV News on Wednesday night at the red-carpet premiere of “I Am Number Four,” which he produced. “I think we did not want the third one to suck.” The problem with 2009’s “Revenge of the Fallen,” Bay once again pointed out, is that the writers’ strike left the production hardly any time to nail down a script. The filmmakers found themselves essentially trying to create a story line in the edit room, rather than on the page before shooting began. “The second one, we had a tough go,” Bay told us. “It was a very, very tough thing to make a movie under those circumstances. It affected a lot of Hollywood at that time.” This time around, Bay said, “We worked extra hard” and struck upon “a better story.” “It’s epic and it happens in a city,” he added. “It’s more accessible because you recognize stuff — it’s not in a desert. It’s kind of like ‘Black Hawk Down’ with our small group of heroes in a city.” On the carpet, Bay also briefly touched on two new alien bots set to debut in “Dark of the Moon.” “Sentinel Prime is great. He’s great,” he said. “I can’t tell you anything else, other than he’s great.” And about the villain Shockwave, Bay say, “He’s bad,” adding that compared to Megatron, “He’s got a much bigger gun [and is] a little bit more vicious.” Though Bay is certain he’s got a winner on his hands, the director maintained that “Dark of the Moon” will be his final “Transformers” film. “It does have an end, yes,” he said. “Because I am finished doing this.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Scream 4 Script Rewrites Causing Major Trouble Among Cast?

Since Scream 4 updates apparently happen hourly , here’s your latest: Screenwriter Kevin Williamson has already been replaced on the set by Scream 3 writer Ehren Kruger. And now Kruger — the man responsible in part for the immortal Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen script — is handling the rewrites and apparently leaving the cast quite unhappy. The changes reportedly caused Lauren Graham to drop out and are upsetting Hayden Panetierre, whose role has been “dumbed down significantly.” Just wait until she’s allowed to read the finished script. Eclipse Keeps Record-Setting Pace, The Last Airbender Does Not

After grossing a record-setting $30 million from midnight screenings, you didn’t need to be Nostradamus to realize that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was going to smash some records over July 4th weekend. And so down goes the first one: Buoyed by those midnight showings, Eclipse banked $68.5 million on Wednesday, besting the gross of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for biggest Wednesday in box office history. That wasn’t enough to top the $72 million opening day record held by New Moon , but it doesn’t sound like anyone is complaining. Except maybe Paramount and one Manoj Night Shyamalan.

Shia LaBeouf Misses Megan Fox On Set Of ‘Transformers 3’

Actor actor looks forward to ‘new perspective’ of Fox’s replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. By Jocelyn Vena Shia LaBeouf in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: Paramount Pictures Earlier this spring, movie fans everywhere were surprised to hear that Megan Fox wouldn’t be back to fight evil alien robots alongside Shia LaBeouf for “Transformers 3.” Fox has been replaced by Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley , who will play a new love interest for LaBeouf’s Sam. And it seems like LaBeouf has mixed feelings about the switch-up. “I love Megan and I miss the girl,” LaBeouf told USA Today from the set of the third film. “But Sam and Mikaela became one character, and here … you have discovery again from a new perspective.” It isn’t just LaBeouf who is hoping that some change will revive the franchise. Director Michael Bay told the paper that in this third film they hope to resolve some of the problems that fans and movie critics disliked in the second film, “Revenge of the Fallen.” “I’ll take some of the criticism,” he said. “It was very hard to put [the sequel] together that quickly after the writers’ strike [of 2007-08]. … This one really builds to a final crescendo. It’s not three multiple endings.” Bay believes that the film’s villain, Shockwave, and its top-secret plot will keep fans on the edge of their seats. “One thing we’re getting rid of is what I call the ‘dorky comedy.’ So the twins, the two bumbling, slang-spewing robots? They’re basically gone,” he explained, adding that John Turturro will still be on hand for comic relief. “The movie is more of a mystery. It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened. As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending.” What do you think “Transformers 3” needs to do to revive the franchise? Share your ideas in the comments.
