Suspect: Despite Battered Condition Of His Face, Police Rule Accidental Asphyxiation As Cause Of Georgia Teen’s Death [Graphic Photo Inside]

Young black men are still dying suspicious deaths in the South. Via ABC Local News The family of a Lowndes High School student who died at school tonight is demanding a federal investigation. Today, investigators officially ruled 17-year old Kendrick Johnson’s death an accident. That announcement came just an hour before friends, family and civil rights activists marched outside Lowndes High School demanding justice. The family believes Johnson was murdered. His body was found inside a rolled-up cheerleading mat in the old Lowndes High School gym January 11th. Investigators believe he was in the gym alone, reached into the mat to get something he dropped, and got stuck. Today’s final autopsy report ruled the death an accident as a result of positional asphyxia. “I’m frustrated that my nephew was supposedly found in a mat, when that doesn’t make sense,” said Johnson’s Aunt, Stacy Roe. Civil Rights activists with Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and The United Justice League led the rally, calling for a federal investigation. “We want an independent investigation, lets just say by an agency with higher credentials than Lowndes County. There’s been a number of what we feel are inconsistencies, are mishandlings, and for that very reason is why we want another set of eyes,” said Atlanta’s National Action Network Chapter President, Marcus Coleman. The family says they expected the autopsy report would rule the death as an accident. And they plan to keep rallying until federal investigators step in. “When you have the body that’s been moved, when you have the Coroner’s Office being notified hours later, when you have the misplacement of his clothing, which could be a direct indicator of any evidence needed to move forward,” said Coleman. Lowndes County Sheriff’s officials say the statements of his body being moved and his clothes being misplaced are untrue. But Coroner Bill Waston has voiced his anger that he wasn’t notified until hours after Johnson’s body was discovered. The Sheriff’s office says the investigation still remains open. The Johnson Family organized another rally Saturday at Serenity Christian Church in Valdosta at 5:00 p.m. Reverend Al Sharpton is scheduled to speak Hit the flip for the photo that has people very suspicious over the true cause of Johnson’s death. Be forewarned… It is very graphic.

Update: Grand Rapids Shooter Killed Wife, Daughter, In-Laws, Ex-Girl, Ex’s Sister And Niece But Family Says “He’s No Monster”

More details have emerged regarding Rodrick Dantzler, the main believed responsible for the mass murders of seven people in Grand Rapids last week. Among the dead are his wife, ex-girlfriend and relatives of both — but members of his family continue to defend him even after the horrific incident — which including the execution style killing of at least one victim. “These were no strangers – they were family members,” a cousin, Cannetha Collins of Muskegon, said Saturday. “He just couldn’t possibly be in the right mind. They were just at Michigan’s Adventure. This was not a family he hated.” Police have determined the .40-caliber handgun used in the killings was stolen from a home in Kent County, Hertel said. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives is looking into the history of the firearm. As an felon, Dantzler, who served a three-to-10-year sentence for felony assault, could not legally possess a gun. He also had previous convictions for domestic violence, property destruction and assault and battery. In an interview Saturday, Collins said her family is devastated, both by the losses and the thought that Dantzler is responsible. She felt a need to apologize, but said her family is overwhelmed by grief, too. His mother, Victoria Dantzler of Grand Rapids, is beyond distraught: she lost a granddaughter, a son and daughter-in-law. It was she who first called police Thursday saying Dantzler had told her he had killed his wife. A possible motive began to emerge Saturday when Dantzler’s Janes Avenue neighbors said his wife was planning to leave him this week or the next. They speculated it sparked the killings. Police say Dantzler shot and killed his wife, Jennifer Heeren, 29, their daughter, Kamrie, 12, and his wife’s parents, Thomas Heeren, 51, and Rebecca Hereen, 52, in the parents’ home at 1270 Brynell Court NE off Four Mile Road NW. Dantzler also killed a former girlfriend, Kimberlee Emkens, 23, her sister, Amanda Emkens, 27, and Marissa Emkens, 10, Amanda’s daughter, at the home of Patricia Emkens at 2046 Plainfield Ave. NE. “I do know we love Rodrick Shonte Dantzler – and he’s no monster,” Collins said. “I truly apologize to the families, and anyone else hurt. Shonte loved his family. “We still love him. Nobody in our family was afraid of him. He had a big and loving heart,” she said. “I do believe it was something to do with his mind.” Dantzler’s family believes his actions may have been caused in part by his failure to take the medication he had been prescribed to treat his bi-polar disorder — while police say he had been using alcohol and cocaine. SMH.That yayo is the devil. His cousin is real nice sticking up for him, but friends of his wife say their relationship was abusive and she had been trying to leave him for some time. Source

Nate Dogg‘s death seemingly came out of nowhere, though the singer had previously suffered strokes in 2007 and 2009. Nate’s friend and manager, Rod McGrew, says that the family believes the strokes led to his early death. McGrew tells TMZ that Nate Dogg had made significant progress in recovering from the two strokes. According to McGrew … Nate was “95% recovered from the first stroke in 2007″ … when the second stroke occurred in 2008 … leaving Nate partially paralyzed and causing partial memory loss. But McGrew says Nate had “cognitively fully recovered” — meaning he got his memory back and was fully alert and aware all the way up to his final days. McGrew just released a statement on behalf of himself and Nate’s family … saying, “We appreciate the enormous outpouring of response from all over the world. We greatly appreciate that and thank everyone for their prayers and support.” RELATED: Nate Dogg Dead At 41 RELATED: Celebs Reflect On The Death Of Nate Dogg RELATED: Top 10 Nate Dogg Guest Appearances

Opening statements were set to begin Saturday in the trial of a father charged with second-degree reckless homicide for praying instead of seeking medical help for his gravely ill 11-year-old daughter. Dale Neumann's wife, Leilani, was convicted of the same charge this spring in the 2008 death of Madeline Neumann, called Kara by her parents. The girl died from undiagnosed diabetes on March 23, 2008, surrounded by people praying at the family's rural home in Weston in central Wisconsin
