Source: Mike Ehrmann / Getty Sadly, we lost another unarmed Black man at the hands of police this week. On Sunday, 22-year-old Stephon Clark was holding a cell phone in his grandmother’s backyard in Sacramento when officers mistook for a gun and fired 20 shots at the kid. Is it just us, or the whole “I thought he had a gun” excuse is getting redundant and implausible. We heard the same thing regarding the murders of Tamir Rice and Oscar Grant just to name a few. Wow…they shot him 20 times for standing his own backyard and talking on his phone…all bc they THOUGHT he had a gun…like this stuff hurts me. That’s could be me, or one of my brothers. Damn, RIP Stephon Clark. — bonito negrito (@King_GrOOvy1) March 22, 2018 Former Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins may be a Pelican now but a piece of him is still back in the Sac. According to reports, he reached out to the family of Stephon Clark to cover the cost of the funeral. Back in 2015, Cousins covered the funeral costs for a local high school football player, Jaulson “JJ” Clavo, who was gunned down. DeMarcus isn’t the only athlete looking to help the Clark family. Sacramento native Matt Barnes sent out his thoughts and prayers for the family, asking anyone who knew the family to send him a direct message. Hundreds of people hit the streets this week to protest the senseless murder. No word yet on whether or not the cops involved will face any consequences. Although we’ve seen this whole story play out before, hopefully this time there’s an alternate ending. Protestors have shut down the freeway in Sacramento calling for justice for Stephon Clark, who was murdered after being shot at 20 times by police in his grandparents’ yard. Cops thought he had a gun. It was a cell phone. https://t.co/prxBlsYO1X — Scott Dworkin (@funder) March 23, 2018 RIP Stephon Clark.
Johnny Nunez/Getty Images Nope, ain’t over… DJ Envy And Gia Casey Speak On Desus & Mero DJ Envy is once again addressing his beef with brolic branded Desus & Mero after that “Breakfast Club” faceoff over his wife. The radio host released a new episode of his “Casey Crew” podcast with his wife Gia where they spoke candidly on that standoff (and walk off) he had with the Viceland hosts. Envy’s still adamant that Desus and Mero “disrespected” Gia and “insinuated” that she’s a gold digger. He also revealed that he told his son Logan about what went down on-air and used it as a teachable moment. Envy revealed that he told their son Logan about what went down between him and the hosts to set an example. “With the Desus and Mero situation, I showed Logan exactly what I did. As a man and as a father my only job is to protect and provide for this family, I told him when you get married and you have children, no matter what anybody says you do what you feel from the heart. You [Gia] instilled that in me the way you are in this world about people—-People have lost their honor. They’ve lost their way about themselves. People would rather trade being right for a check. Like being a standup person for getting a check. “Or to be popular,” said Gia. Gia then asked her husband fan questions about the situation and Envy denied having malicious intent with his Breakfast Club commentary while noting that he’s the “pusher of love” on the show. “I know we weren’t gonna talk about it,” said Gia. “‘Envy how do you get so upset that someone disrespected your wife when it’s basically you and your cohosts’ job to do the same thing every day? And you disrespect females on occasion on your show.’” “People like to group people on our show,” said Envy. “If Charlamagne gave somebody donkey of the day then people automatically think that I said the same thing or it’s the same sentiment. I don’t know if people realize especially in the last 5 years, 6 years, I’ve been the pusher of love. When JuJu and Cam’ron were having problems I was like, y’all need to get back together and work it out. I don’t try to disrespect anybody. When it comes to disrespecting somebody, I don’t ever try to disrespect anybody maliciously. He also recalled a single time he might have disrespected someone’s wife; the time he said something out of pocket about Tiny Harris and got called out by T.I. “One time it was T.I. and Tiny, and T.I. called me on-air and he was right—but that was what? 7 or 8 years ago.” More of this lovely triscuit colored tag team on the flip.
We’re very sad to say it, but… …. here we go again. As has been well documented over the past several months, Amy Roloff receives flak nearly every time she shares a photo of herself and boyfriend Chris Marek. It’s really not clear why. Marek has given the public no reason not to think he’s in this relationship for the right reasons and Amy has been divorced from Matt Roloff for about two years now. And yet: Roloff goes on vacation with Marek, posts a picture and BAM! The fangs come out from certain followers . There seems to be some kind of vocal minority out there that believes Marek is using Amy for her money and/or that Amy doesn’t have a right to be in a serious relationship right now. The latest example of these critics speaking out took place over the weekend. As you can see above, Amy shared a photograph of her and Marek, out and about on St. Patrick’s Day. “A little Irish sprinkle w/ luck. #goodfriendsgoodtimes #stpatricksday #amyssecondactcontinues,” wrote Amy as a caption to this seemingly harmless picture. But was it really so harmless? No, not according to some trolls who may or may not have some major issues with which they need to deal. One person, for example, called Chris out for not wearing green, while another told him to go ahead and “get lost.” So what that Amy is very happy with Marek, apparently! These Little People, Big World fans (can we even call them that, really?!?) are out for blood when it comes to Chris. Harsh, right? But, wait, it gets worse… Look, we know the Internet can be a mean place. It would be silly of us to pretend otherwise or to list every insult anyone ever hurled at any Roloff out there. This is just a confusing and unfortunate pattern, as Amy even gets attacked for sharing a simple post about Easter . Thankfully, she almost always seems to have a smile on her face. She doesn’t appear as if she’s letting this misguided hate get her down in any way. We’re very happy to see that. And we can’t wait to see more of Amy and her family when TLC finally starts airing new episodes of Little People, Big World on April 3. Way back at the beginning of the year, Amber Portwood revealed her baby’s name … sort of. It wasn’t an official reveal or a full name, and she never actually confirmed much of anything about the child she’s having with Andrew Glennon. Until now, that is. The Teen Mom OG Reunion was missing two of its stars. Farrah Abraham was absent because, you know, she got fired from Teen Mom . That whole story was a huge mess. It’s the end of an era — the Farrah era — and we can all sleep a little easier. Amber Portwood, in the mean time, has not been fired — but she still couldn’t attend the reunion special in person. Why? Because she’s super pregnant with her second child . Just because she wasn’t up to flying out didn’t mean that she couldn’t attend. She spoke and answered questions through FaceTime. One Twitter user’s question got asked: “Amber I’ve been dying to know, have you picked out a name for the baby?” Without a pause, Amber replied: “His name is going to be James Andrew Glennon.” She then goes on to explain that they’re naming their son after not only his baby daddy (obviously), Andrew Glennon, but after Andrew’s father. IMDB notes that James Glennon “died unexpectedly on October 19, 2006, from a blood clot resulting from surgery for prostate cancer.” If you’re wondering why Andrew Glennon’s dad’s death is described on IMDB instead of on some old obituary page from a newspaper, it’s because Andrew is not the first Glennon in show business. James Glennon was a famous cinematographer, whose most recognizable works include About Schmidt and Deadwood . Not for nothing, but James’ father, Bert Glennon, was also a world-famous cinematographer. And James’ mother was Mary Coleman, a script supervisor. As we all remember from when we first learned that Andrew and Amber were a couple, they only met because Andrew was working as a producer on Marriage Boot Camp . James Andrew Glennon will carry the names of his father and grandfather. At the risk of wishing him into a career months before he’s even expected to be born, one cannot help but wonder if Amber’s second child will go into the entertainment industry in some capacity. Obviously, though, no child should ever be pushed into following in their parent’s footsteps. None of Andrew’s children need to be involved in cinematography at all in their professional lives. Just like none of Amber’s children need to, um, become parents while they’re in high school. We’re not saying that those are equal things, we’re just saying that each person has a right to choose their own destiny. Amber Portwood also used her FaceTime interview to refer to Andrew Glennon as “the best rebound ever.” She laughed afterwards and was clearly, clearly joking. (Sure, one could argue that Andrew is, by definition, a rebound, since Amber basicallys tormed away from Matt Baier and into Andrew’s arms, but it’s clear that they’re serious about each other) Amber also says that her family has been really accepting of Andrew, which she says is a good sign. Honestly, if Andrew could watch Amber flip out on Marriage Boot Camp before they were in a relationship and he was still crazy about her, he’s definitely a keeper. if somebody’s seen you at your worst and loves you, that might be the real deal. Tamar Braxton Demands Edits To New Season Of Braxton Family Values Sources tell TMZ that Tamar supposedly believes that her mother and sisters are deliberately painting an unfair picture of her husband as a bad guy on the show, in an effort to destroy his public image. Of course, Tamar herself accused Vince of having an affair behind her back and an entire side baby — publicly, on social media — before suddenly taking it all back a few months later. But we digress… Either way, Tamar thinks that while cameras were catching her and Vince’s actual divorce process …her family was busy drumming up false storylines on the side to turn Vince into a villain. As such, she is refusing to do any promo for the upcoming season of “Braxton Family Values,” and will not do so until production edits out all scenes that she feels are unfair and untruthful. Hmmm…Tamar’s mom seemed pretty firm on the fact that Vince was getting violent with her daughter , and has never backtracked on anything. Tamar, however, has changed her tune on Vince a few times. Do you think production will cater to her request for edits? Getty/WENN Continue reading →

One of the big things people don’t like about Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard is that despite being on a big TV show for years, they still beg their fans for money. That and all the bigotry, those are the two big things. It’s just always been so bizarre, because you’d think that the money they made from the show would be more than enough to support them and all their endeavors, at least for a little while longer. If nothing else, Jim Bob owns a fleet of private planes , it seems like he could give them a hand if they were struggling that much. But regardless of what you’d think or how things seem, the fact remains that there have been several occasions when the Dillards reached out to their supporters for some cash assistance. And that’s weird. After getting lots and lots of criticism for all their GoFundMe stunts over the years , and after failing to convince people that they’re just regular missionaries and that’s how things are done, they’ve given up with the fundraisers, for now, anyway. However, Derick did get the family fired from reality television , so you have to make ends somehow, you know? Well, it looks like they’ve come up with a new plan! There’s this foundation called The Tuttle Twins, and they release books for children about things like politics and history — books that the Duggars would enjoy. As the foundation explains on its website, “Each year, hundreds of millions of children are spoon-fed false history, bad economics, and logical fallacies. Your child is not immune.” They say their books are a way for parents to “inoculate their children against this trend to help them really grasp the importance of freedom and free markets.” So we’re sure the books are fine and correct and not at all terrifying. Anyway, The Tuttle Twins is holding this contest on their Facebook page where you share a picture of your kid with one of their books, and if your picture gets the most likes and shares, you win a cash prize of $350. You can see where this is going, right? Jill, who had to know that she has a massively unfair advantage with this kind of thing, entered the contest with this picture of Israel, and just to make sure she gets all those likes, she made sure she was in the photo, too. So far, Jill has far more likes than anyone else in the contest, and there’s really no way that she won’t win. It’s really a shame. There are plenty of families who could legitimately use $350, and for Jill to take that opportunity away from those people is just sad. And lots of people seem to agree. “Completely unfair that this picture was allowed,” one person commented on the photo. “Until recently Jill Duggar Dillard has appeared on TLC for many years. Shame on her for using her celebrity to win a contest with money as a prize.” Another person wrote that she shouldn’t be eligible for the contest because “no one stands a chance against her and that’s really not OK.” “Jill Duggar is using her fame as a public figure to garner more votes for her son, which is NOT fair to all the other entrants who don’t have their names and faces plastered all over the place,” yet another Duggar critic wrote. “Jill should withdraw her entry, and she should be disqualified.” She should, but she won’t — instead, she’s been posting the link to the photo on her Twitter and Instagram accounts and asking everyone to “help Israel win!” The foundation won’t intervene either, because as they explained to their many outraged followers, “We are not going to disqualify somebody merely because they have a larger social network.” View Slideshow: Duggar Family: Their Secret to Raking in Millions on the Side Revealed Subtext: “we are not going to disqualify somebody merely because they have a larger social network because this mess is getting us a whole lot attention and we are living for it.” Hope Jill does something neat with that cash prize!
Without intending to do so, Amy Roloff has managed to make a plateful of cookies seem controversial. The Little People, Big World star jumped on Instagram last week to share a delicious looking photo. It features Amy sitting alone at a table, except for the yummy items in front of her; from mini muffins to some kind of bread and even a few painted eggs. “I’m already planning for Easter,” she wrote to open a lengthy caption, continuing as follows: “It’s a special time and celebration to me because what Jesus did! And I’m with my family. Amy Roloff’s Little Kitchen is all about sharing what I love with you. “Recipes, food and why I love being in the kitchen making delicious baked goods and meals. That gather people together and around the table.” So… why the aforementioned controversy? Because Easter is arguably the most sacred and important of all Catholic holidays. It is meant as a celebration for the surprising resurrection of Jesus Christ. And Amy is using it as a way to shill for her website and her company?!? Does she have no sense of decorum or respect?!? So argues a few harsh critics, at least. “Really, Amy?!? Must you exploit this holiday for your own selfish gain?” wrote one follower in response to this post. The post, meanwhile, goes on a bit more: I remember how I loved coloring eggs w/ my kids and hiding them before they woke up to find them. And making Easter baskets with something special in it that reminded them what Easter truly is all about. I ’d baked a lemon poppy seed bread (in photo) quiche, cheesecake, honey baked ham and other goodies for our meal. I get excited just thinking about it. We get hungry just thinking about it. But some get angry. “Just stop, Amy,” said another hater. “Of ALL days, this one is not about you.” In the past, Amy’s daughter also got dragged for using God and religion to pitch her own products. Amy, meanwhile, typically hears it from trolls who don’t approve of her romance with Chris Marek . But he wasn’t the source of contention this time around. Concluded Roloff in her caption: My kids are all grown up now and it’ll be fun to see them with their kids at Easter and start their own traditions. What are some of your Easter traditions and things you make? Check out Amy Roloff’s Little Kitchen at www.amyjroloff.com. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Have a wonderful almost Spring day. Roloff also used the hashtags “#amyroloffslittlekitchen,” “#Easter,” “#celebratetraditions,” “#familylife,” and “#sharingourstory.” View Slideshow: Roloff Family Photo Album: Little People, Lots of Love! What do you think of this scandal? Is it really a scandal? Is Amy just doing what any entrepreneur anywhere would do? Or should Easter really not be a holiday that gets the hashtag treatment because it is too sacred? We want to hear your opinion, readers!
