Paras Griffin/WireImage Jill Scott Sued By A Writer Over Allegedly Stealing His Idea Jill Scott has gotten herself into some more trouble this weekend. Mann Frisby, a former writer for the Daily News and Inquisitor , is suing the singer for allegedly stealing an idea he had to make greeting cards. Frisby is claiming that he and Scott were good friends, and that he pitched her the idea of using her song lyrics in greeting cards for Hallmark ten years ago. According to a lawsuit that he filed on Thursday in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court, the man says that they mutually agreed to a 50-50 profit split if he was able to secure a deal with the greeting card company. And now, fast forward a decade, Scott announced at the beginning of last year that she was coming out with her own Hallmark greeting card line, which would feature lyrics from twenty of her songs. According to the Associated Press , Scott said that she got the idea from Maya Angelou, and she was following her footsteps by “create[ing] cards I felt represented things a sista would say.” In August, eight months after the launch of the cards, Frisby discovered Scott “had concealed her actions” and had thus proceeded without him, according to his lawsuit. Frisby is claiming that Scott breached her oral agreement with him by “falsely stating” she was putting the deal on hold, and securing the Hallmark deal without telling him. The writer is demanding 50 percent of Scott’s greeting-card profits along with more than $50,000 in damages. Earl Gibson III/Getty Images Ulysses Wilkerson Family Filing Civil Suit The family of an Alabama teen that was hospitalized after being beaten by police is filing a civil suit with help from a famed attorney. As previously reported the four police officers who were investigated for using “physical force to subdue” Ulysses Wilkerson on December 23 will not face criminal charges. What they still can face however is a civil suit and attorney Benjamin Crump famous for representing Trayvon Martin’s family, is joining in the fight. The Dothan Eagle reports that Attorney Crump, as well as Attorney Dustin Fowler and Attorney Steve Etheredge, are representing Wilkerson and a civil suit is on the way. “All I can say at this time is that we will proceed with litigation and we are moving forward with the civil suit,” said Dothan attorney Dustin Fowler, part of a legal team retained by the family of Ulysses KeAndre Wilkerson. We hope that the civil suit will prove to fair better for the family than the criminal investigation. There’s no way police should be allowed to do THIS to a teenager and not face some sort of repercussions.

The former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, who announced her second pregnancy in late November, has posed for a new photo on Instagram. It’s a way for her to act all excited about the pair of babies in her belly, but it’s not exactly being met with enthusiasm by … … well, anyone who has looked at it. And this is because Edmonds has the audacity in this snapshot to straight up copy the one and only Beyonce Knowles. Not just in some vague or broad fashion, either. HollywoodLife reports that Kylie isn’t ready to marry Travis , as he found out to his chagrin on their trip to Miami. “When Kylie and Travis were on their trip he spontaneously asked her to marry him, but she turned him down, for now.” Oh, that sounds incredibly awkward. But she’s reportedly very happy with him and even open to marriage … eventually. “Kylie definitely wants to marry Travis, but she also really loves how things are the way they are.” This may come as a surprise, since Kylie decided to have his baby, but she apparently has some realistic and mature ideas about “She knows she rushed into this relationship, so she’s trying to slow it all down and enjoy every single stage.” That sounds healthy. Again, they’ve been dating for less than one year. Per this report, Kylie’s getting some much-needed advice from her family members. The only time that it’s smart is if there are legal reasons (someone needs a Green Card, someone needs to not be compelled to testify against the other in a court of law, someone needs health insurance) … or perhaps if a reality series is paying you enough. Again, and we cannot emphasize this enough, but extrapolating from Stormi Webster’s February 1st birth date, Kylie and Travis had been dating for perhaps one month when Kylie conceived. Maybe they would still be together even if they hadn’t brought another human being into the world — Kylie loves with her whole heart. But getting engaged to someone you’ve effectively just met is a recipe for disaster. That said, there’s no reason for Travis and Kylie to not continue their happy and healthy relationship. Brooke Rosendale, a fifth grade intervention specialist and volleyball and basketball coach in Ohio, was been sentenced to three years in jail. The ruling came down on Wednesday, after Rosendale pleaded guilty to a sexual relationship with a 13-year old female student. According to an arrest report (obtained by People Magazine), the Riverdale School employee engaged in sexual contact with the unnamed teenager in January and February of last year. The incidents did not happen on school grounds, the document states. Based on this same report, Rosendale (who was convicted on a charge of third-degree felony count of sexual battery) was not the teacher of the girl with whom she slept. Instead, the two met via the school’s extracurricular programs. Rosendale, who resigned her position one months after this inappropriate relationship ended, must now register as a Tier 3 sex offender going forward. She also must pay $225 in restitution to the family of her former student. In court, Rosendale’s attorney, Peter Halleck, said his client has accepted responsibility for her actions and has expressed remorse to him on multiple occasions. However, Hancock County Common Pleas Judge Reginald Routson, the judge who oversaw the case, came across as skeptical that Rosendale truly understood her actions. “You stepped across a line, a taboo that cannot be violated,” Routson said, according to court records. He added: “There cannot be any sort of relationships between teachers and students and you betrayed a very important trust.” Rosendale apologized Wednesday to the parents of the student, who appeared in court but did not wish to make a statement in public. “I want to apologize to the family,” she said. “I know I hurt them and I apologize.” Rosendale got engaged in July of 2016 and was scheduled to get married on November 4, 2017, per a section on TheKnot.com. It’s unclear at this time whether or not Rosendale went through with the wedding. In March of 2017, the teenager’s parents reported these sexual incidents to the school district. After the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office launched a criminal investigation, Rosendale resigned from her position. She has also relinquished her teaching certificate. “The Forgiven” Starring Forest Whitaker & Eric Bana Hits Theaters March 9 Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s daughter said she hopes a new movie about her father’s crusade for reconciliation following Apartheid’s end in South Africa helps shine a light on the real heroes in our everyday lives. “The Forgiven” follows Archbishop Tutu in his work as chairman of then President Nelson Mandela’s “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” just after Apartheid was abolished in the 1990s. Tutu – played by an unrecognizable Forest Whitaker – teams up with a hardened, racist prisoner and former secret policeman (Eric Bana) to solve the murder of a young woman. “What I hope viewers take away from the film is the incredible courage of so many South Africans who are nameless,” Mpho Tutu told BOSSIP. “These were ordinary people who have had an extraordinary generosity of spirit and openness of heart.” She added: “It doesn’t take a a gold star or a recognizable face or a well known name in order to be a hero. Ordinary people perform extraordinary acts of heroism every day.” The movie is filled with lots of those kinds of moments, where South Africans were trying to reconcile with the past, and yet move forward without bitterness. “It’s people who have the generosity to forgive, the courage to hope and the faith to persevere who can make our world a better place, where it can be a place of hope an a better opportunity for tomorrow,” Mpho Tutu said. Mpho Tutu told us that although her family didn’t have any involvement in crafting the script, she said the director Roland Joffé asked Archbishop Tutu for his blessing before they began production. Archbishop Tutu, his daughter said, found the movie to be a “work of art.” “I know that the anti-apartheid struggle feels like it’s in the distant past, but the people who make the state of a new South Africa, are people who are part of our living memory,” she said. “They are our real legends and heroes of today.”

Take, for example, Meghan Markle’s siblings, who have been a royal pain in the royal’s collective ass ever since the world learned Meghan is engaged to Prince Harry. At first, it was just Meghan’s half-sister who insisted on making waves with her public attempts to tear down Harry’s betrothed. These days, Meghan’s half-brother is also in on the act, though he hasn’t proven to be quite as adept in his shameless opportunism. While Thomas Markle has granted a couple scathing interviews, it’s Samantha Grant-Markle who’s really cashing in. She plans to publish a tell-all about Meghan , and she’s even collaborated with the folks at the Enquirer on a series of hit pieces about the half-sibling she barely knows. Not bad for someone who no one had heard of a few months ago, and who most people wish would simply fade back into oblivion. Now, Samantha’s ex-husband, Scott Rasmussen, is saying enough is enough by speaking out against his former wife’s conniving ways. “Harry and Meghan need to know the truth about her. She’s the last person who should be at Windsor Castle,” Rasmussen told the Daily Mail in a recent interview. Asked about Samantha’s nickname for Meghan, “Princess Pushy,” Rasmussen said it’s simply a result of projection: “Samantha’s the pushy one,” he said. “I believe she resented Meghan because she had the life Samantha always wanted and she was jealous.” Like Samantha, Scott hasn’t spent much time with Meghan since she was in her late teens, but he says he remembers her fondly from those days: “She was all class and so polite,” he said. “Everything Samantha wanted to be.” No rebuttal yet from Scott’s ex-wife, who we assume is currently in recovering at a nearby burn unit.
