Wendy Pepper, a memorable contestant who competed on the very first season of Project Runway, has passed away. She was 53 years old. According to The Washington Post, the reality star – whose real name was Anne Eustis Pepper Stewart – died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by her family members and loved ones. The cause of her death was not revealed in the newspaper’s obituary. But here is what a portion of the memorial article said: A finalist on season one of Project Runway, Wendy designed and hand-sewed exceptionally beautiful clothes for children and adults. She was a chef, a writer, and a life-long entrepreneur. Her wit and humor were unmatched, as was her generosity of spirit. Wendy is survived by her parents, Anne Livingston Emmet of Washington and Charles Willing Pepper of Palm Beach, FL; her loving daughter, Finley M. Stewart, of Middleburg, VA; her brothers Wing Pepper, Stacy Lloyd and Thomas Lloyd; her sister, Edith Pepper Goltra; and many adoring nieces and nephews. Pepper advanced to the finals at Fashion Week and ultimately came in third on the opening Project Runway season. While on the program, she won numerous challenges, including the change to have one of her designs sold at Banana Republic and the opportunity to design Nancy O’Dell’s Grammy dress. She was a fan favorite for sure. Along with the inaugural run of Project Runway, Pepper also made an appearance during the second season of Project Runway All Stars, which aired in 2012 and 2013. Moreover, she appeared on a pair of other Bravo reality shows: Celebrity Poker Showdown and Battle of the Network Reality Stars. The late chef and designer was born in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Potomac School, the Madeira School, and the University of Washington. Said Pepper in a Project Runway All Star video many years ago: “I realized I was a designer when I was living in Nepal. “Dyeing some yarn, I suddenly turned to these people that I was living with and I started to drape the yarn. Oh my gosh, this is so much fun, I am creating this whole sort of experience with these women. For me, fashion is communication…That’s when I knew this was my life’s work.” She also said Project Runway taught her that “if you really want to succeed, you’ve gotta be willing to throw yourself into the arena.” Pepper will be laid to rest at a Georgetown church on December 1. May she rest in peace. View Slideshow: 27 Reality Stars Who Died Way Too Young

The news that Joy-Anna Duggar is pregnant with her first child drew a surprising reaction from fans of her famous family. It seems not a month goes by without a Duggar pregnancy announcement, and usually the response from fans is universally congratulatory. But the timing of Joy-Anna’s statement resulted in confusion from some Duggar obsessives and outright condemnation from others. Here’s a recap: Joy married Austin Forsyth in May. Just three months later, she announced her pregnancy with an Instagram photo in which she appeared to be several months along. The Duggars offered an official conception timeline to put to rest any rumors of premarital sex, which is strictly forbidden by their arch-conservative religious beliefs. The family insisted that Joy got pregnant on one of the first nights of her honeymoon. Fans were unconvinced, and rumors of Joy-Anna’s “shotgun wedding” began to circulate on social media. The Duggars will likely never address the matter directly themselves, but a family friend spoke out about the rumors surrounding Joy-Anna during a recent “ask me anything” session on Reddit. The friend chose to remain anonymous, but she appeared to be knowledgeable about a number of topics that the Duggars have not yet spoken about publicly. Asked point blank if she believes Joy-Anna got pregnant before her wedding, the source responded simply that it’s “not likely.” It’s important to note that elsewhere in the thread, the insider offered information and opinions that were not entirely favorable to the Duggars. For instance, she confirmed that Jim Bob is a domineering force in his household and that women have few rights on the Duggar compound. For the most part, however, she spoke about Counting On clan in glowing terms. We supposed that’s not particularly surprising, considering she identified herself as a family friend. So will these remarks put to rest the rumors that Joy-Anna conceived prior to saying “I do”? Almost certainly not, particularly since fan theories regarding her date of conception are based on much more than Joy’s sizable baby bump and the timing of her announcement. For one thing, Joy-Anna and Austin admitted to breaking her family’s courtship rules in an interview with Counting On producers. Of course, given the draconian nature of those rules, that could mean many things. The Duggars require chaperones on all dates involving non-married couples, and they even place time limits on hand-holding. So while many consider Joy-Anna’s admission to be particularly damning, that’s not necessarily an indication of premarital sex. There is one incriminating clue, however, that’s proven difficult for the Duggars to explain away. Joy-Anna and Austin rescheduled their wedding from October of this year to May. Many believe the date was pushed up five months to conceal the fact that Joy-Anna is expecting. Thus far, her family has yet to offer a different explanation. In all likelihood, the matter will never be settled to the satisfaction of the family’s most nosy fans. But as long as Jim Bob and company openly engage in harsh moral judgement of others, fans will continue to look for signs of hypocrisy–and so far those signs have proven plentiful. A federal grand jury in Toledo, Ohio indicted a third Ohio pastor for conspiracy to sex traffic children charges, alleging that the trio enticed underaged girls to have sex for money, WOIO-TV reported. The US Attorney’s Office said the Rev. Anthony Haynes , 38, started grooming a 14-year-old victim in 2014 for prostitution and introduced the girl to other men, adding that all three of the pastors sexually assaulted her, according to the Associated Press . All three pastors pleaded not guilty on Tuesday. This third indictment came against the Rev. Kenneth Butler . Indictments on the same charges against Haynes and the Rev. Cordell Jenkins , 47, were handed down in July. Federal prosecutors combined the cases into one group of charges to facilitate the proceedings. The clergymen, who allegedly had sex with young girls at their churches and at hotels, are also accused of producing child pornography, WTOL-TV reported. The 14-year-old allegedly groomed by Hayes said she had sex with Butler, 37, in his car twice in exchange for money, and he told her to lie if investigators questioned her, according to the Toledo Blade .They face life in prison if found guilty of the federal charges. Rumors about the possibility of a Jana Duggar courtship have been circulating for pretty much the entire time her family’s been in the national spotlight. In fact, in the past month alone, two different men have been linked to Jana. One of them has since denied reports that he’s romantically linked to the eldest Duggar daughter. But for a long time, fans remained steadily convinced that the second guy was Jana’s future husband. His name is Caleb Williams , and he’s a small business owner and longtime friend of Jana’s family. While Williams is said to be far more liberal than the Duggars , several media outlets claimed that he was able to gradually able to win them over one-by-one. Photos of Williams spending time with Jim Bob seemed to indicate that Jana’s suitor had infiltrated her family’s upper echelon. Understandably, many fans arrived at the conclusion that an engagement would be announced sometime in the very near future. But the last photo of Jim Bob and Caleb appeared on social media several weeks ago, and it doesn’t appear that Jana is sporting any new bling these days. In fact, she and Caleb haven’t even confirmed that they’re courting. For some reason, Duggar fans want nothing more than to see Jana in a committed relationship. And we guess we understand that, considering Jana loves kids and clearly wants a family of her own. So fair warning if you’re one of the Jana obsessives who’s spent the last eight years rooting for her to find the right man–bad news lies ahead: According to various reports , Jana is not courting Caleb–or anyone else for that matter. We know, we know–you’re upset. But keep in mind that Jana is only 27 and still has plenty of time to get married and have kids. Besides, things could be much worse. She could’ve been fired from Counting On , like Derick Dillard ! Currently, it’s looking like fans got their hopes up without reason, and Jana will be living on her family’s compound a bit longer. But hey Duggar courtships move mighty quickly. Your girl could still be married and out of the house by Christmas! Watch Counting On online for more from reality TV’s most controversial family. Over the weekend, fans of the Duggar family were shocked to learn that Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard had been fired by the TLC network. The move came in response to Dillard’s continued harassment of Jazz Jennings, a transgender teen who is also the star of a TLC reality show. Dillard voiced his objections to Jennings lifestyle in a series of transphobic rants that frequently crossed the line into bullying and harassment. “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God,” Dillard tweeted back in August. Dillard persisted in his attacks on Jennings even after being criticized by numerous public figures and former fans of the Duggars. Bizarrely, despite no apparent provocation, Dillard picked up where he left off last week, once again haranguing the 17-year-old despite pleas for civility from fans and critics alike: “Jazz is being taken advantage of, as part of a larger agenda,” Derick argued in his unprompted tirade. “I hate seeing him used this way,” Derick continued, intentionally misgendering the teen. The fixation may seem entirely inexplicable to casual fans of the Duggars, but those who have watched the family closely these past few years are aware of an ugly truth: Derick has ambitions of rising above his status as one of the many Duggar in-laws, and it seems he’s decided to make a name for himself as an arch-conservative firebrand by beating up on Jazz. Of course, his plan backfired in spectacular fashion, and now Derick finds himself on the offensive. He took to Instagram today to practice two skills that will likely serve him well in his future career as a highly opinionated nobody–he offered a lame-brained defense of his earlier foolishness, and he begged for money from his social media followers. “Our culture has accepted two huge lies,” Derick wrote . “The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise conviction to be compassionate.” Yes, a grown man who was recently fired for bullying a teenage girl is now lecturing you on compassion. Welcome to 2017. From there, Derick did what he does best and groveled for cash. Dillard has a history of begging for money online, but these days, he’s clearly more desperate than ever. “BIG NEWS,” he latest hilariously began. “I am currently serving through a program at my home church, called the Cross Church School of Ministry! “I am so excited about this incredible opportunity for further ministry development, and I would like to invite you to share in this excitement with me.” He added “I started a fundraiser on gofundme to raise the funding I need for various missions opportunities I will have throughout the year. I have a donations goal of $10,000. “This will enable me to fulfill my specific calling to ministry this year, including trips for Gospel-advancement and humanitarian work in Northwest Arkansas, North America, and abroad.” In the past, Derick has been kicked off all of the the fundraising sites that hosted his cash-grabs, and that’s probably the fate that awaits him here. Whatever the case, his pleas appear to be falling on deaf ears. His fundraising efforts appear to have stalled out at $2,714. If this keeps up Derick will have to face the one thing he hates more than beloved teenage television stars–full-time employment. After years of rumors followed the comedian, five women have come forward and accused Louis C.K. of sexual harassment . Now that these rumors have become outspoken allegations, and now that he’s getting slammed by comedians and fans alike , Louis C.K. is making a statement. And he’s … admitting to it. To all of it. Louis C.K.’s statement gets right to the point: “I want to address the stories told to The New York Times by five women named Abby, Rebecca, Dana, Julia who felt able to name themselves and one who did not.” Here it comes: “These stories are true.” We’ve all wondered what’s must have been going through his mind as he pulled out his penis in front of various women. (We no longer have to write “allegedly” for him!) Louis C.K. provides a little insight: “At the time, I said to myself that what I did was O.K. because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true.” That … sounds like some bizarre mental gymnastics were going on in his mind to excuse his behavior. The sort of excuse that only he himself could buy. “But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.” Power can mean professional authority. It can mean celebrity status. It can even mean physical strength and size. Remember, folks: the cashier or barista smiles at you because it’s literally part of her job, not because she wants to see your genitals. “The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly. I have been remorseful of my actions. And I’ve tried to learn from them. And run from them. Now I’m aware of the extent of the impact of my actions.” Louis C.K.’s statement continues: “I learned yesterday the extent to which I left these women who admired me feeling badly about themselves and cautious around other men who would never have put them in that position.” One of those women said that the experience discouraged her from pursuing her career in comedy. “I also took advantage of the fact that I was widely admired in my and their community, which disabled them from sharing their story and brought hardship to them when they tried because people who look up to me didn’t want to hear it.” That “widely admired” bit sounds a little like self-praise, which is not tonally appropriate … but maybe he’s just trying to make sure that people understand that he knows that it was wrong and why? “I didn’t think that I was doing any of that because my position allowed me not to think about it.” A lot of men never think about the damage that they do. “There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for. And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with.” That’s proper. “I wish I had reacted to their admiration of me by being a good example to them as a man and given them some guidance as a comedian, including because I admired their work.” “The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else.” Well, maybe his hardest regret. “And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them.” Louis C.K.’s actions are now impacting more than just himself and these women. Remember, HBO gave him the axe. “I’d be remiss to exclude the hurt that I’ve brought on people who I work with and have worked with who’s professional and personal lives have been impacted by all of this, including projects currently in production: the cast and crew of Better Things, Baskets, The Cops, One Mississippi, and I Love You, Daddy.” That’s a lot of people screwed over, professionally, because Louis C.K. couldn’t keep it in his pants (literally). “I deeply regret that this has brought negative attention to my manager Dave Becky who only tried to mediate a situation that I caused.” If you don’t want to negatively impact the people who consider it their job to clean up your messes, maybe don’t make messes. (Some have pointed out that Louis C.K.’s wealth is in the 8 digits, and that he mgiht want to cut some checks to the people whom he’s left hanging) “I’ve brought anguish and hardship to the people at FX who have given me so much The Orchard who took a chance on my movie. and every other entity that has bet on me through the years.” We cannot imagine how his family is feeling right now. “I’ve brought pain to my family, my friends, my children and their mother.” Louis C.K. finishes off his statement with this: “I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen. Thank you for reading.” It’s good that he’s admitting this, and a refreshing change from endless denials in Hollywood , but we’d like to point out a couple of things: One: if there was a actual, explicit apology in this, we don’t think that we saw it. Maybe it’s implied , but that’s actually not how apologies work. You have to say them. Two: some have pointed out that Louis C.K. could have spoken out years ago when Gawker (before the site was destroyed by a vengeful, Trump-supporting billionaire) first talked about these rumors. Or in the summer of 2016, when Roseanne Barr spoke about it . It almost seems, to some, that Louis C.K. was less concerned about how his actions impacted these women … and was only moved to speak up because it’s now hurting his career . That’s a cynical view, but … you can see why people feel that way. Especially people who have their own #MeToo stories and will never trust the people responsible for them.
