Tika Sumpter Covers Rolling Out Mag Tika Sumpter looks stunning on the cover of next month’s issue of Rolling Out, showing off her bountiful baby bump in a lace number and tons of glam. Inside the issue, Tika talks playing the FLOTUS , and doing her best to bring positive images of Black women to the screen. The actress also opened up on why she decided to remain mum on her baby news until it was just unavoidable to share… Via RollingOut : Sumpter loves the fans and she’s very giving but she definitely believes in saving a lot for herself. “I’m really selfish with my life,” she declares with no guilt. “You want to share some aspects of your life. But, for me, I can’t give everything because then I have nothing to come home to and to have for myself and my family. And I need to store up on that love and all that stuff, in order to create, in order to act. “Sometimes when you let everybody in your business, I think it makes relationships harder than they need to be,” she continues. “Relationships are already tough. Raising kids is already tough. And then having somebody say something crazy or spread a rumor or say something that’s not nice and hurts your spirit — that I can’t deal with. And that’s why I’m very protective of my peace. I’m protective of my private life. Even getting pregnant, people are just now finding out, but it’s something that I wanted to keep for me and enjoy it for a while. And then I was like, ‘OK, cool here you go’ and I couldn’t hide it anymore,” she laughs, adding a little more levity to her tone. Motherhood, she knows, is serious business, especially raising a young lady. As she prepares for it and the responsibility of living a life for something much greater than herself, she ponders the images her daughter will see and the example she, herself, will set for her. “I just want her to see images of strength out there and of women who are doing something with themselves. I want to be able to dictate something about the images that my daughter will see and also [for her to] look up to me as a great mom and a great woman that she would want to one day hopefully be like,” she reveals. Neil Hanvey, considered by many to be the biggest Star Wars fan on the planet, has finally lost his battle with cancer. He was 36 years old. Hanvey, who was diagnosed with the disease three and a half years ago, passed away on Monday, just two days after having his latest wish fulfilled: He was fortunate enough to attend a special screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, months prior to its December release. The movie buff’s family had initiated a worldwide social media campaign in order to make this dream come true for Hanvey. “On behalf of Neil Hanvey, his wife Andrea and all his family, we want to thank everyone who supported the #RogueOneWish campaign,” St Michael’s Hospice in England wrote in a Facebook post on Monday. “The director of Rogue One, Gareth Edwards did all he could to make Saturday a very special day for Neil. “Neil, his family and everyone at St Michael’s Hospice would like to say thank you to Disney, Lucasfilm and especially Gareth Edwards.” Rogue One Trailer: “Star Wars Story” Goes Back in Time to Reign of Vader The #RogueOneWish campaign, which kicked off in April, generated a tremendous amount of support online, including retweets from Star Wars actor Mark Hamill. On Tuesday, Hanvey’s wife released a statement of gratitude, thanking those who had helped turn her husband’s wish into a reality. She has set up a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for St. Michael’s as well. “On behalf of all our family we would like to thank everyone who has passed on their condolences following Neil’s death last night,” she said in a statement to St Michael’s. “We would also like to thank the tens of thousands of people who supported the #RogueOneWish campaign. All the messages of love during the past week have given us a great deal of comfort during a very difficult time. “We would also like to thank everyone at St Michael’s Hospice, especially Amy Duncan, without who #RogueOneWish would not have happened. “All donations at Neil’s funeral will go to the Hospice’s Family Support team and will be used to fund work with children and young people.” Last year, a terminally ill fan named Daniel Fleetwood was granted his wish to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens prior to its global release. In 2013, director J.J. Abrams made a similar dream come true for a very sick fan of Star Trek in regard to Into the Darkness. Rogue One – the first of many planned Star Wars spinoffs – hits theaters on December 16. It stars Diego Luna, Felicity Jones, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen and Ben Mendelsohn. Kardashians: Deceiving Fans With Illegal Instagrams?

The Kardashians are famous for being paid oodles of cash to promote a product, but are they playing by the rules (or rather, the law) when it comes to sponsored posts? According to Page Six , a letter from watchdog group Truth In Advertising reportedly sent a letter to momager Kris Jenner’s legal team, warning her that they “have found that members of the Kardashian/Jenner family are engaged in deceptive marketing campaigns .” The group has been meticulously following the Instagram accounts of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as their younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and gathered 27 companies – incluing Puma, Calvin Klein, JetSmarter, Fit Tea, Estée Lauder and Karl Lagerfeld – they were working with. What the group found was “a plethora of posts that do not clearly or conspicuously disclose their relationships with the companies being promoted in the posts as is required by federal law.” The group has informed Jenner that if the issues aren’t “fully corrected” by Wednesday, the family will be reported to the Federal Trade Commission. It’s no secret that the Kardashians have been hawking products since Keeping Up With The Kardashians became wildly popular in 2007, but federal law requires that a company and its participants clearly state that the post is sponsored.  “The law is clear and people are not following it, and it’s not being enforced very often,” TINA spokeswoman Bonnie Patten told Page Si x. Social media is becoming the new medium for advertising, and this law is making it even more difficult for a celebrity or person of influence to share a product with followers without being asked, “is this sponsored? Are you being paid to promote this?” The Fashion Law website broke it down for readers, clarifying what constitutes a sponsored post . “Is posting a photo an endorsement? The FTC says yes!” The Fashion Law explains. “A photo is enough to trigger the need to disclose: Simply posting a picture of a product on social media, such as on Pinterest or Instagram, or a video of you using it, could convey that you like and approve of the product. Dwayne Johnson: How Did He Diss Vin Diesel Now?

Dwayne Johnson just wrapped filming on Fast 8. Soon afterward, he took to Instagram and showed cast and crew members from the movie with praise and gratitude. Well, MOST cast and crew members, that is. “Finished strong and on to the next. That’s an officially wrap on #FastAndFurious8. Thank you to our director @fgarygray for the vision and execution,” Johnson wrote as a caption to the image above. Fair enough, right? It’s also a good thing and a nice thing to thank one’s director. But then Johnson continued as follows: “Thank you to all my fellow co-stars for the daily effort and grind. Scott Eastwood you handsome sumbitch! Natalie Emmanuel I have a cold Budweiser ready for you and Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I’ve ever seen.” This is how Johnson concluded his message: “And a huge THANK YOU to our hard working production crew – the backbone of our business. Your kind words meant a lot to me last night – thank you! “In the end, we all rallied, as great teams do, kicked ass and will deliver an amazing movie to the world. Proud of our entire FAST FAMILY.” That’s a very kind sentiment, except there’s clearly someone in the Fast Family who Johnson failed to mention: Vin Diesel. We somehow doubt this was an accidental oversight. A couple weeks ago, Johnson went on a social media tirade against an unnamed male co-star who he seemed “unprofessional” and called, quite simply, a “candy ass.” He wrote: “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.” It didn’t take long for sources to confirm that his beef was with Diesel . Insiders told TMZ that Diesel let the power of being a producer go to his head. He allegedly acted like a giant dick on set, berating other actors, showing up late and generally acting like a jerk. Should Johnson receive some flak for not calling Diesel out by name in his Instagram rant ? Perhaps. But most crew members say Johnson was a true, hard-working, generous professional on set. They say Diesel was the opposite. How has Diesel responded to this feud? By briefly acknowledging its existence and by saying he’ll soon tell everyone absolutely everything . He’s yet to actually do this. Tyrese, meanwhile, has come out and said nice things about both Johnson and Diesel, trying hard not to take sides. No other co-star has commented on the bad blood. The first Fast 8 trailer is due in December and the movie will hit theaters in April. It will be interesting to see who is sent out on the press tour and what they say, won’t it? Black women don’t fare well economically nationwide, considering they still earn just .64 cents for every dollar a white man earns. But Utah ranks as one of the worst for Black women. There Black women receive just 60 cents for every dollar earned by white men…. “According to a study by the Washington, D.C.- based National Women’s Law Center, Black women in Utah can expect to lose $950,720 to the wage gap over the course of a 40-year career. It’s the 10th largest gap in the nation,” reported The Salt Lake Tribune. Tiny Addresses TI Divorce Rumors Despite the fact that T.I. has supremely pissed her off with his recent extracurricular activities , Tiny wants to make it clear that it takes more than a side piece to break her union up. When you get to be as wealthy as Kim Kardashian (maybe not Kanye West at the moment), you learn where to land freebies so that you can continue being that wealthy. After learning that her young sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner were given a free $50 million villa in return for bikini-filled Instagrams thanking Airbnb for the hook-up, Kardashian got to thinking that she could do the same thing. Kardashian, who made $45 million from her mobile app game , is working with the rental company to secure a luxurious apartment in New York City for a few months this fall. “The plan would be for Kimye to live there for a few months for free, and Kim will post on social media about the apartment, like her sisters did from Turks and ­Caicos,” a source told Page Six . Though West does already have an apartment in the city, it’s not big enough for his family. “It’s only a one-bedroom, and it is smaller than Kim’s closet in LA,” a source told the column. “He’s grown out of it, plus they need more space for the family.” The problem is that the West name isn’t exactly valuable these days. “Not many of these sellers want to rent to Kimye, as having their names, and Airbnb, attached to such a luxury property won’t help a sale,” a source explained. “It isn’t attractive to high-end buyers. Plus, Airbnb is only offering a little more than $150,000 for the entire stay, when most of these places rent for [more than] $100K a month.” It’s believed that Kardashian and West will come to some sort of agreement with Airbnb, regardless of whether they get this particular place, or something less expensive.
