Source: C.Smith/ WENN.com / WENN Aretha Franklin’s Handwritten Wills Discovered By Her Niece Aretha Franklin’s niece, Sabrina Owens–who is also the personal representative of Franklin’s estate–has reportedly found the late singer’s handwritten wills, according to reports via the Associated Press . These newly discovered wills were filed in probate court in Oakland County, Michigan on Monday. The three wills were discovered by Owens after she came across a key for a locked cabinet. Two of the wills, from 2010, were found in said cabinet while the third will, from March 2014, was uncovered under the cushions of a couch. It was previously thought that Franklin left no will behind, until Owens found all three of thesewills in the same day at Franklin’s home. The documents from 2014 detail which assets should be left to Franklin’s family members. A statement from Owens says, “she remains neutral and wishes that all parties involved make wise choices on behalf of their mother, her rich legacy, the family and the Aretha Franklin estate…” “If it’s clear and convincing evidence of your intentions, it’s a perfectly valid document,” Patrick Simasko, an estate specialist, told AP. “The court wants to do everything in its power to fulfill the wishes of the person who passed away.” In the documents, Franklin requests that her son, Kecalf Franklin, be the personal representative of the estate. Franklin’s sons previously agreed to Owens overseeing the estate. A hearing to confirm the validity of the wills is scheduled to happen on June 12.

Actress Rebecca Gayheart is reflecting on a tragic event from her past. On The Only One in the Room podcast, Gayheart opened up about the June 13, 2001 car accident that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old boy , Jorge Cruz Jr. “I had a very terrible accident happen,” she explained. “A 9-year-old child died. And you know, everything changed from that, and I still have trouble talking about it.” Rebecca explained the event, telling host Laura Cathcart that she was driving when a car in front of her hit the brakes. To avoid hitting the car, Rebecca panicked and swerved around it. “If a car in front of you hits their brakes and they stop, you don’t go around them to avoid hitting them,” she advised, reflecting on her own mistake. “You hit them because there’s a reason they’re stopping.” “I couldn’t see that reason, but that is something that everyone should know,” she said. The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress noted that Cruz was crossing the street to chase after his soccer ball when she accidentally struck him. She was not on drugs or under the influence. Cruz died from the injuries sustained the following day and Gayheart paid the family $10,000 for funeral expenses, according to People . As expected, Rebecca says she “did not cope very well after.” “I just didn’t want to live after that accident… I couldn’t handle it at all,” she explained. “I spent about a year just trying to kill myself basically by doing every self-destructive thing a person can do because I just didn’t understand…any of it.” Gayheart suffered from PTSD following the incident and had ongoing nightmares. The star said that to this day she continues to replay the accident in her head, wondering what she could’ve done to prevent the unfortunate situation. “I still have those questions, but today I am able to ponder those questions and still realize that I deserve to be happy,” she said. “And that I am meant to be on this planet and that I have a purpose and I’m making living amends for that even though it was an accident.” Adding, “[I] can’t imagine what his parents are still feeling like.” After pleading no contest to vehicular manslaughter in November 2001, the actress was sentenced to probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine, and 750 hours of community service. She also settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the child’s parents out of court. Thanks to her 750 hours of community service, she began volunteering with Chrysalis, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless and low-income individuals by providing resources and support to gain employment. “I just found my place,” she said, crediting the people she met through her work with saving her life. And when the organization was struggling financially, she helped create the Butterfly Ball, which has been raising money since 2002. “Being at Chrysalis reinforced what my purpose was and that I did need to be alive,” Rebecca said of the organization. We are just glad that after many years she has been able to find peace and stay in a healthier headspace. These days, Gayheart keeps busy by balancing her acting career as well as being a mom to her two daughters Billie, 9, and Georgia, 7 – whom she shares with ex-husband Eric Dane .

Maci Bookout has a very busy life. She's married to Taylor McKinney, and they have two young children together. They're also raising her older son, Bentley, while struggling to co-parent with Ryan Edwards, who spent much of this year in jail. On top of all of that, she films for Teen Mom OG, does work to raise awareness for PCOS, and then of course there's Things That Matter, the clothing company she and Taylor run together. It's a lot, right? So why haven't we heard from her much lately? 1. The McKinneys So Maci and Taylor have been together since late 2012 — that’s almost seven years. So basically an eternity in the Teen Mom universe (Catelynn and Tyler don’t count). 2. Making a Family They got married in 2016, they’ve had two children together, Jayde and Maverick, and Taylor is an incredible stepdad to Bentley, the son Maci shares with Ryan Edwards. 3. Father of the Decade? He’s extra incredible, considering Ryan’s serious heroin addiction and all the time he’s spent in jail and rehab in recent years. There’s no question that Taylor has been around for Bentley much, much more than Ryan has, and he really doesn’t seem to love him any differently than his biological kids. 4. Lots of Work Maci and Taylor have their hands full with three kids and a troubled co-parent in Ryan, but they also own and manage a successful clothing company, Things That Matter, and of course they film Teen Mom OG for months at a time. 5. To open the month of May, Joy-Anna and husband Austin gushed over the concept of simple calculus in announcing they were expecting their second child, saying to Us Weekly at the time: “Our favorite math is addition and we are very excited to share that the Forsyth family is adding a member!” Referencing their son, the couple added: “Marriage and being a mom and dad to Gideon has already far exceeded our expectations. Recent reports have described tensions in the Brown family. Yes, even more than usual. One sister wife in particular, Robyn, is at the center of it all. Why? Because, according to reports, Kody has been spending extra time with her, singling her out as his favorite. He even allegedly spent an entire week with her house as his “home base” ina blatant display of favoritism. The Browns set out to do Sister Wives with the intention of showing the world that plural marriage isn’t scary. After all, most of the people arrested for “polygamy” have done actual bad things, like marrying children and not allowing anyone to leave. But “polygamy” is a more sensational label, so people harp on the number of wives and not that they tend to be aged 12-14 or whatever. So we understand where Kody and the sister wives were coming from, but that doesn’t make them the best family to reassure viewers. Kody rubs people the wrong way, for a host of reasons. And all of the family drama (like the appearance of playing “favorites”) that makes them entertaining reality fodder makes them terrible representatives of plural marriage. Yes, you read that right! Morehouse College, an all male, historically Black university, held their commencement services for their class of 2019 today. Their speaker this year was Robert F. Smith. Smith is a Billionaire (with a B) technology investor and philanthropist. He is the founder, chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners. In 2018, Smith was recognized by Forbes as the wealthiest African American, beating out Oprah for the title. Smith pledged $1.5 million dollars to the school but decided to raise the stakes for commencement. After receiving an honorary doctoral degree from Morehouse during the ceremony, Robert F. Smith pledged that his family will create a grant to clear the outstanding student loan debt for EVERY graduate in the class of 2019. The estimated total is about $40 MILLION dollars!
