Chance The Rapper Gets Dragged For ‘I Didn’t Believe The R. Kelly Victims Because They Were Black Women’ Comment

Source: Joshua Lott / Getty Fair or foul??? Chance The Rapper Initially Didn’t Believe The R. Kelly Victims Because They Were Black Women Chance The Rapper is getting eviscerated for an interview that aired during the “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary. Before the final episode of the four-part special aired on Lifetime, Rolling Stone posted that a clip from an interview done by our brother site Cassius would air featuring Chance admitting grievances to Jamilah Lemieux. In the interview Chance, who brought out R. Kelly in 2014 at Lollapalooza and who collaborated with the singer on “Somewhere in Paradise”, told Jamilah that he’d made a mistake. “Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake. I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women,” said Chance. “I made a mistake.” But that’s not all Chance said. In the full interview, Chance added that while black women are “higher oppressed”, there’s hypersensitivity to black male oppression—which is why he had his doubts. He also added that victims who get the attention of this magnitude or usually light skinned or white. “We’re programmed to really be hypersensitive to black male oppression, but black women are exponentially higher oppressed and violated group of people just in comparison to the whole world,” said Chance. “Maybe I didn’t care because I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women.” “Usually, n****s that get in trouble for s*** like this on their magnitude of celebrity, it’s light-skinned women or white women. That’s when it’s a big story. I’ve never really seen any pictures of R. Kelly’s accusers.” “I made a mistake and I’m happy that those women are getting voices now and I can grow to understand better what my positioning should be or should’ve been when that opportunity came.” Both Chance and Jamilah have cried foul over the Rolling Stone article and said the quote was taken out of context. pic.twitter.com/bqbKlsDA9l — Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) January 6, 2019 FYI, I conducted the interview with Chance in May. He spoke clearly and unequivocally in support of BW and the victims. https://t.co/uhTZT9TvEA — Jamilah Lemieux (@JamilahLemieux) January 6, 2019 Still despite that, the “didn’t value accuser’s stories” line is getting Chance dragged by people who couldn’t believe he thought that way—in particular, because he’s the product of a black woman and has a black daughter. A product of a black woman did not believe black children were raped SOLELY because they were black. Not for any other reason but hatred for black women. U don’t get kudos for finally realizing how trash that is. — J. Holiday’s Gucci Jacket (@eleven8) January 6, 2019 What the headline should have read is: Despite Chance the Rapper having a black daughter and fiancé he discounted the victim’s stories because they were black women. He now regrets making music with a sexual predator because it is bad for his brand. https://t.co/9TMFiNqkdn — Ariel Hazzard (@ArielHazzard) January 6, 2019 Should Chance be given credit for trying to absolve himself of his past bias—-or is it too little too late?

Aaliyah’s Mother Dismisses Backup Dancer’s Claim She Saw Aaliyah & R. Kelly Having Sex On Tour Bus

Excerpt from:

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly documentary is an emotional roller coaster that reveals the depths of R. Kelly’s perversion. But among the most shocking revelations, is the bounds of his relationship with late singer Aaliyah, who Kelly married in 1994. She was 15 at the time. Jovante Cunningham, a former back-up dancer, who says she was and still is “protective” over Aaliyah, allegedly witnessed R. Kelly having sex with Aaliyah on a tour bus. “We were all laying in our bunks and the curtains are open, everybody’s communicating, laughing,” Cunningham explained. “When the [room] door flew open on the bus. Robert was having sex with Aaliyah.” Jovante wouldn’t go into detail about what exactly she saw, but added, “Things that an adult should not be doing with a child.” She adds, “I can’t stress to you how people are still suffering behind things that went on 20 years ago.” Aaliyah’s mother Diane Haughton dismissed Jovante’s claims in a statement released on Twitter. Ronnie Now Claims Jen Harley Assaulted Him with an Ashtray

Here we go again between Ronnie Magro and Jen Harley. And again and again and again. The on-again/off-again/on-again/they-should-absolutely-never-be-on-again couple got into a huge fight on New Year's Eve, as reported HERE . Then, Harley told the cops that Ronnie broke into her home and destroyed lots of stuff, as reproted HERE . Now, Ronnie has fired back with a charge of domestic battery against the father of his daughter, somehow managing to raise the stakes once again in this ugly and dangerous relationship. Scroll down for the latest. And join us in just feeling so so so so SO horrible for this twosome's young child… 1. Let’s Start Here: Are Ronnie and Jen Together? No. Accordng to Us Weekly, there was a major fight between the Jersey Shore stars on New Year’s Eve and the relationship is now over… again. 2. They Have a “Volatile” Romance So says this Us Weekly insider, stating the obvious and adding in slightly more detail: “They broke up before New Year’s Eve, got back together right before then and got in a big fight on Monday night. They’re currently broken up. But it’s the same story every time: They are together, they fight, they break up and then get back together.” 3. This Photo Was Taken Just Days Before the Latest Blow-Up Appearances can be deceiving, though, we guess. We just feel awful for the kids at the center of this messy relationship, Jen’s son from a previous hook-up and Ronnie and Jen’s daughter, Ariana. 4. So… What Happened After This Split? Relatively normal stuff at first, such as Ronnie deleting all traces of Jen from his Instagram account. 5. He Also Echoed the Sentiment of a Harley Critic In response to a photo of Ariana, some Internet user wrote, “She is amazing. Hope she doesn’t grow up to act like her mother.” Ronnie then Liked this comment. 6. But Then More Accusations Flew on Both Sides Jen, for example, claims that Ronnie ransacked the couple’s Las Vegas home. She called police to the scene, alleging her angry ex broke many items in the residence. It’s true: Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a residence at about 3:23 a.m. on New Year’s Day concerning a burglary call. View Slideshow

Derick Dillard SLAMMED by Fans for Faking Weight Problem

Though there have been times when Derick Dillard says something decent , he is once again coming under fire for a tweet of his. Fans are absolutely outraged after he shared what appeared to be heartfelt story about the steps he took to lose weight when he needed to. Take a look and you’ll understand his followers and their ire. “The Key to Keeping Your 2019 Resolutions,” Derick Dillard tweeted on the same Twitter account he used to derail his reality career. The eye-catching tweet, which proved controversial for reasons that we will explain, links to a blog post. “Some of you may not know this, but 7 years ago I weighed nearly 400 pounds,” Derick’s stunning post begins. “The day was New Years Eve, 2011,” Derick writes. “And I knew I needed to discipline myself to lose 250 pounds and lose it fast!” That is quite a goal for a person to have. “I didn’t know how I was going to do it,” Derick’s surprising post says. “Nor how I would stay focused.” “But,” he writes. “I was determined that it was going to happen, and nothing could stop me.” “I even surprised myself when I saw that nearly 100 pounds had just melted away in the first month!” he claims. That would be multiple pounds of weight loss per day, alarming on multiple levels. “I ended-up ahead of schedule,” Derick says. “Dropping 251 pounds in just 3 months!” If you’re scratching your head at Derick’s unbelievable story, know that it isn’t believable for a reason. Like so much of what comes out of Derick’s mouth, it just isn’t true. “If this story sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is,” Derick announces, as if he is proud of himself. There’s a lot of talk this time of year about making resolutions,” he says. Derick continues: “Whether you intend to make a physical, financial, spiritual, or some other resolution, it’s important to have a game-plan for success.” He then outlines a generic self-help outline for reaching goals. Derick of course concludes: “nothing ultimately matters anyway unless it’s done for the one true God.” Fans who clicked through to his article and found that he had been duped were understandably outraged. “DO NOT CLICK ON THIS FOLKS,” advised one fan on Twitter. “it’s a fake ad to get you to visit their website, lies lies lies!” “They are scum and just want clicks for money for themselves,” cautions another. “Even if that means outright LYING” “Oh, I just read the whole thing,” an additional follower warns. “Shame on you for pretending to have a significant weight problem as clickbait for your blog.” “You used a lie to get money,” that same follower accuses. “I don’t think that’s very Christ-like.” The first day’s of a new year are an unnervingly predatory time on social media. Many people make resolutions to alter their diet, exercise habits, or simply to lose weight by any means necessary. Some celebrities exploit this by endorsing weight-loss products, like those that Jameela Jamil has been opposing . The products sold to often young, impressionable fans are often bad for them, and may simply give them diarrhea. In Derick’s case, he’s using a phony story to attract his personal fans to his personal blog. Is he exploiting his followers for ad revenue or just trying to make a buck like everybody else? What Derick essentially did was prank his fans. If there is ever an acceptable time for a prank (and there is not), it would be April Fool’s Day. Baiting fans with a bogus story of miraculous weight-loss is … well, ethically questionable at best, right?  Still, this is far from the most reprehensible thing that Derick has ever tweeted. His transphobic attacks against Jazz Jennings, which ultimately led to his firing from Counting On , are still fresh in many people’s minds. Any grown man who would use his platform and his religion to cyberbully a teenage girl is capable of lying to get some extra clicks to his blog. We can understand why his followers felt betrayed. Johnny Bananas to Bristol Palin: STFU, Will Ya?!?

Johnny Bananas has taken major issue with something Bristol Palin recently said about Teen Mom OG. There’s a sentence we never expected to write. But the MTV veteran, who has appeared on The Real World and various versions of The Challenge, laid into the new cable network star late last month. While appearing on the Hollywood Pipeline podcast, Johnny was asked about Palin, specifically her claim that Teen Mom producers were responsible for “inaccuracies and false narratives” during her time on the show. For those who missed out on some pretty incredible episodes this past season, Bristol’s entire storyline was basically that her marriage was in ruins and she has great disdain for ex-husband Dakota Meyer. Despite the guy having lost most of his platoon in Afghanistan and openly suffering from PTSD. Because she reacted so harshly to such a serious condition faced by Meyer, Palin garnered a great deal of backlash during her run on the program. And she finally grew sick enough of it to go on an Instagram rant. “If I cared what people thought of me, I wouldn’t be here today – let’s be real. I’ve stood strong and held it down for my kids since day one,” Palin wrote on December 10. She said then complained about MTV trying to make her into Farrah Abraham by building so much contrived drama around her relationship. “No matter how bad @teenmom tries to portray my “life” ….. my babies, my family, my close friends – they know the TRUTH. I’m a pretty great mom, work my ass off, show up, and hustle everyday to give my kids a pretty great life,” she wrote.” Palin then (hilariously) concluded by wondering why Teen Mom focused on controversy over… religion? Scroll down to see what she wrote on this topic: @mtv doesn’t want to talk about faith, show work ethic, or juggling three kids alone, they don’t want to show the humble process of starting over after a divorce, building a career, or any real life issues. All they want with my little segment each week is some fake fill-in Farrah Abraham/Jerry Springer BS, and it’s simply not true. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve said some mean things and learned a lot the last several months – but the life I’ve built for my kids is NOT sitting around talking about baby daddy drama. Every week is a continued disappointment with their inaccuracies and false narratives. I hate getting all emo on you guys but I’ve kept quiet for too long about it. Don’t believe everything you see on TV. Bananas, meanwhile, thinks this entire line of reasoning is, well, bananas. “Shut up. Like honestly Bristol, would you just stop whining?” he said on the aforementioned post cast, continuing as follows; “You’re on an MTV show about kids that made bad decisions early on in life and are in dysfunctional relationships. There’s no way to edit that in a positive way, there just isn’t.” That sums it up well, doesn’t it? “Have you ever watched ‘Teen Mom’ before?” Johnny asked of Bristol. “There’s not a whole lot of feel good stories coming out of there. If you wanted a feel good story, you should have went on Oxygen or OWN. Bristol, of course, did previously have her own series titled Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp. But no one tuned in because it was boring and lame. So Palin accepted $250,000 to appear on this season of Teen Mom OG and is now complaining about it. And Bananas isn’t having it. “Her life’s been a reality television show,” he said. “We got enough of this, hearing your mom whining about the press and the publicity that she got and how it wasn’t accurate. Forge a different path … you knew what you were doing.” In conclusion, per Bananas: “You can’t get yourself involved in a show like this, put yourself out there and then get upset when you’re not being edited or portrayed the way you want to be. “That’s what reality television is. Reality television is the biggest misnomer ever because there’s nothing real about it. “They are going to take the topics, the situations that create the most drama, the most friction, that are going to draw the most eye balls there, and they are going to air that.” View Slideshow: Bristol Palin: I’ve Totally Failed as a Mother
