Beyonce, Rihanna, Wayne & Willow Make Guinness World Records 2012

Read this article:

The Guinness Book Of World Records 2012 has been released and inside, some of our favorite singers and celebs have been named the holders of some impressive records. Beyonce snagged the record for most related Tweets per second when she made her baby announcement at the 2011 MTV VMAs. 8,868 tweets were sent out per second by fans. Rihanna earned the honor of “Most US #1 Singles in a Year by a Female,” for the four chart-topping singles she released in 2010: “Rude Boy,” “Love the Way You Lie” (featuring Eminem), “What’s My Name?” (featuring Drake) and “Only Girl (in the World).” Lil Wayne nabbed the title of having the “Most US Hot 100 Hits by a Rap Artist”: 64 between the years of 1999 and 2010. Willow Smith made the list as the “Youngest Top 20 Transatlantic Star” at just 10 years old. But it’s Adele who blew us away gaining three different records: “Most Consecutive Weeks at #1 on the UK Albums Chart (Female)” – 11 weeks with album 21 as of April 16, 2011 “Most Non-Consecutive Weeks at #1 on the UK Albums Chart (Female”) – 18 weeks with album 21 “First Female to Reach the UK Top 5 with Two Singles and Two Albums Simultaneously” – “Someone Like You” and “Rolling in the Deep”, from albums 19 and 21 on February 26, 2011 Beyonce & Her Baby Bump Finally Make It Out To Fashion Week [PHOTOS] Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj & Wiz Khalifa Lead BET Hip Hop Award Nominations

Nicki Minaj And More New York Fashion Week Highlights

Betsey Johnson, Charlotte Ronson, Rebecca Minkoff and Tracy Reese present MTV News’ favorite Spring 2012 collections. By Christina Garibaldi Nicki Minaj Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage New York Fashion Week is officially a wrap! Designers, models and fashionistas gathered around Lincoln Center in NYC to get a front-row seat to all the hottest looks for the Spring 2012 season. MTV News was there to give you a backstage pass to all the top designers and fill you in on all the latest trends. Here are the highlights: Betsey Johnson Betsey Johnson doesn’t just put on a runway show — she throws a party. The 69-year-old pint-sized fashionista folded all of her well-known looks — leopard, sequins, ruffles and lace — and came out with a line that was funky, bright and inspired. So, where did Johnson get her inspiration? From Nicki Minaj , of course! “I was watching Nicki Minaj and my daughter Lulu, and I’m thinking, ‘They are the body type,’ ” Betsey said of making the looks for her spring line. “I love [Nicki], and she really wears my stuff. She likes real tight. She’s just my most, most, most favorite girl right now.” Minaj, who was sitting front row in a tutu and blue cotton-candy hair, was in awe that her fashion icon is such a fan. “She’s a free spirit,” Nicki said of Betsey. “When I met her the other day, I felt like I knew her for my whole life. She’s so warm and considerate and caring. She’s amazingly talented, and I’ve been wearing her clothes forever, so to meet her was like, ‘Yay!’ I was bowing down to her. She’s dope!” Charlotte Ronson Charlotte Ronson kicked off our week with a retro feel, bringing us back to the ’70s with her Boho flare. Ronson’s ready-to-wear looks were inspired by the Victorian era, but of course, she added her signature grunge style to complete her collection. “It actually first started off being more Victorian: lots of light, sheer dresses and covered buttons and high necklines,” Ronson said of the inspiration behind her spring line. “It always falls into more of a Boho, ’70s feel, but then each season, we also add a little more grunge factor, and that comes in more with button-downs and pajama pants and patchwork denim and the crop tops and things like that.” Celebrity attendees included Kelly Osbourne, Whitney Port, Nicky Hilton and, as usual, Charlotte’s sister, Samantha Ronson, was on hand DJing the event. Tracy Reese Designer Tracy Reese’s Spring 2012 line was bursting at the seams with bright colors, flowy dresses and floral prints, making this line perfect for the everyday woman. “I wanted to do something very romantic, an ode to spring,” Reese said. “The clothes are very romantic, but very useful, very wearable. A lot of great color: brights, hot pinks, neons, beautiful blues — but the whole range from a sweet misty blue to a dark, strong peacock — pops of yellow and pretty neutrals to balance the whole thing out.” Rebecca Minkoff Rebecca Minkoff has made a name for herself designing purses that we constantly see used by A-list celebrities including Vanessa Hudgens, Blake Lively and Fashion Week front-row attendee Michelle Trachtenberg. “Her clothes make up half of my closet,” Trachtenberg told us on the runway. “[Her line] looks beautiful. You can literally walk it off the runway.” Minkoff’s spring line showed a collection of day-to-night outfits, complete with neons, beachwear and rocker-chic blazers. “What I love about this collection: It’s full of texture, really great color, a lot of brights — just happy spring,” Minkoff told us backstage. “I really concentrated on color, texture and just a little bit of sexy with an edge.” For complete coverage of New York Fashion Week , visit MTV Style. Solange, Selita & More Dish On Style Icons & Fave Products At Fashion Week [EXCLUSIVE]

More:

HelloBeautiful has been all over New York Fashion Week chatting it up with your favorite celebrities at runway shows, presentations and parties, getting the inside scoop on their ultimate style and beauty tips. From Solange at Lord & Taylor and Angela Simmons at Tommy Hilfiger to Amare Stoudemire at Macy’s and Selita Ebanks celebrating with Missoni, HB was able to find out their favorite products, fashion lines, and style icons – save for a few regretful buys (hey, we’re not the only ones who make mistakes when shopping!) WHAT IS YOUR ONE FALL MUST-HAVE ITEM? Angela Simmons: Bell bottoms and flares. I’m taking it back. Solange: I would say a statement color coat. Bright colors! Selita Ebanks: I’m loving tweeds. I’m still loving color-blocking even though I know it’s very ‘Spring.’ Lots of fur and fringe. It’s all about the fringe [points to her Christian Louboutin heels] . Dwyane Wade: A nicely tailored suit. Amare Stoudemire: You gotta have a cashmere sweater. A v-neck for sure, something that’s not too hot, that’s not too cold. Rachel Roy: I would do socks, because I am totally dying for a nude pair of very thin semi-sheer knee-highs that I can wear with heels. In terms of the silhouette, I’m definitely feeling androgyny. I think that a women with a suit on, a well-tailored suit, is amazing. Laila Ali: I’m not that girl [shrugs] . WHAT IS YOUR MOST FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCT IN YOUR BAG? Selita Ebanks: I usually have all kinds of lip-gloss and that’s a must, but tonight all I just have Chapstick. Angela Simmons: Chapstick, I’ve got to have Chapstick with me. Rachel Roy: I like the idea of transforming who I am through clothing and through makeup, so I rely heavily on mascara. WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE STYLE RULE THAT YOU LIVE BY? Selita Ebanks: Dress according to your body type! Angela Simmons: Really be true to yourself when you dress. You have to wear what makes you feel the best; that’s more important than following trends. Carmelo Anthony: Just do you. Everybody is fashionable in their own sense—good and bad. Rachel Roy: Don’t follow trends. Only dress for what really looks good, fits good, makes you feel good. Miguel: It’s all about your eye and what you believe in. Do some research. Understand where fashion comes from and what resonates with who you are and your lifestyle. It’s about what appeases you and what compliments your personality, because when you dumb it down, you do too much. In Case You Missed It: HelloBeautiful’s Full Fashion Week Coverage [PHOTOS] Front Rows & Backstage! Celebs At New York 2011 Fashion Week [PHOTOS] WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU GOT BUYER’S REMORSE? Laila Ali: I bought a Mercedes GL..um…what’s the wagon? I just didn’t like it, I had to get rid of it. I picked the wrong car. I couldn’t be riding around in that for a year. Amare Stoudemire: I had a crib in Miami I didn’t use much so I had to sell that [laughs] but I make sure I buy what I want and what I need. Rachel Roy: Girl, I’m 37, I know what I want and that’s the beauty of getting older! Angela Simmons: I guess you feel better every time you buy something you like. If anything, shopping is a guilty pleasure. Solange: I don’t because I spend a lot of time wearing what I’ve got! Miguel: Like when you go thrift store shopping and you find a piece and you know it’s a little too big or it doesn’t quiet fit, but you get it anyway because it’s such a dope piece? I’ve done that a couple of times. Selita Ebanks: Oh, that’s a good question. I don’t know actually. Carmelo Anthony: I can’t say that I get that too often [laughs] . WHO IS YOUR STYLE ICON? Selita Ebanks: I’d love to raid Rihanna’s closet. She’s so young and fun! She wears the most random pieces and I love how she puts everything together. Solange: Diana Ross, from an older generation, and from today, my damn self! [laughs] Amare Stoudemire: I like Johnny Depp. He’s got a lot of accessories, but he’s a style rebel so he reminds me a lot of myself. Dwyane Wade: My father. He was always sharp. Angela Simmons: I really look up to Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs & Tom Ford, designers that have successful innovative lines. And Rachel Roy! She’s amazing. I’ve really been watching her, she’s like a mentor to me. Miguel: I think Karl Lagerfeld takes the cake. He’s just so iconic and he’s done it in the most avant-garde way. Being progressive but timeless is a line that is very hard to walk. Rachel Roy: I’m inspired by strong women, by graceful women, by women that never give up. Coco Chanel had a tough life; she was an orphan and she was a courtesan, but yet she looked so damn graceful. And Laura Santo Domingo: she can wear such beautiful fashion, such edgy fashion but she wears in a way that’s so effortless. WHAT COLLECTION ARE  YOU MOST EXCITED TO SEE? Selita Ebanks: Marchesa! It’s always over-the-top gorgeous glamour. Miguel: The Future of Eveden. He’s so passionate about everything. I think his event is gonna be barnone. Angela Simmons: I’m really excited to see Betsey Johnson. She’s really fun. Carmelo Anthony: I’m excited to see this Tommy Hifiger show. Lindsay Lohan Hits Fashion Week; Nothing Missing

Lindsay Lohan stole the show, and fortunately nothing else, on Friday night. At Cynthia Rowley’s Fashion Week show, New York Magazine ‘s fashion bloggers The Fug Girls wrote that Lohan showed up and “nearly caused a riot.” Not because she was wasted and hysterical, for once. But due to the fact that she is still kind of a celebrity that can turn heads like that apparently. To hear the Fug Girls describe the madhouse: “The entire room sat up ramrod straight and let out excited, disbelieving, four-letter expletives as we all realized this was actually Lindsay Freaking Lohan.” Wearing tiny shorts and a flowing white top, Lohan was escorted to her front row seat by security. Some photographers wanted Lindsay Lohan pictures so badly that dude actually went out on the runway (a big no-no) to get a closer shot. Event organizers quickly confiscated his camera and his credentials. “The room applauded, led by Lindsay herself,” said the site. Lohan wasn’t too phased by the commotion she caused on the runway. She wrote Friday: “Beautiful work, Cynthia. I can’t wait to take you to dinner.” You know who else could use a nice dinner? Ali Lohan . Yikes! [Photo: Pacific Coast News]
