ISIS Hacks Governmental Social Media A group claiming to be affiliated with ISIS hacked US Central Command’s Twitter account and YouTube channel — posting pro-ISIS messages and what they claimed were classified Government documents. Via Business Insider : A group describing itself as the “CyberCaliphate” gained control of the official Twitter and YouTube pages of US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Monday and began posting messages supportive of the jihadist group Islamic State (also known as ISIS). “We can confirm that the CENTCOM Twitter and YouTube accounts were compromised earlier today,” CENTCOM said in a statement after it regained control of the accounts. “We are taking appropriate measures to address the matter. We have no further information to provide at this time.” The hack occurred at the same time US President Barack Obama was giving a speech on cybersecurity at the offices of the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. On Twitter, the group posted a message that declared “Pentagon networks hacked”; it indicated it broke into military “networks and personal devices.” In the message, the CyberCaliphate identified itself as being “under the auspices of ISIS.” It included links to what it described as leaked military files. It then began posting screenshots it described as “China scenarios.” A few hours after their initial comment, CENTCOM released another statement wherein they indicated confidential files were not leaked. “Our initial assessment is that no classified information was posted. When we have more, we’ll be sure to let folks know,” the statement said. The New York Times previously noted that “many of the documents posted by the hackers appear to be public records.” Hmmm. First “The Interview” fiasco, now this…looks like hacking is the new terrorism.

We’re told 50-60 people attended the dinner, and about half were cops, most of whom were retired. The others were civilians. Singer Gary Fishell is a P.I. who once worked as an investigator for the Federal Government. His lawyer tells TMZ, Fishell now realizes the song was “off color and in poor taste.” The lawyer adds, “He’s a goofball who writes funny songs.” We asked why Fishell would sing this in a room full of cops, and the lawyer replied, “He thought the room would get a kick out of it.” 2014 doesn’t have any more f***s left to give. Look at what we have here… Unemployment Rate Down to 5.8%, 214,000 Jobs Created Via Reuters U.S. job growth increased at a fairly brisk clip in October and the unemployment rate fell to a fresh six-year low of 5.8 percent, underscoring the economy’s resilience in the face of slowing global demand. Despite the strengthening labor market picture, wage growth remained tepid, suggesting the Federal Reserve would be in no hurry to start lifting interest rates. Employers added 214,000 new jobs to their payrolls last month, the Labor Department said on Friday. The unemployment rate fell from 5.9 percent, even as more people entered the labor force, a sign of strength in the jobs market. Data for August and September were revised to show 31,000 more jobs created than previously reported. “Today’s jobs report confirms that the U.S. remains the bright spot in a global economic picture filling with clouds,” said Michael Griffin, managing director at CEB in Arlington, Virginia. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast 231,000 new jobs last month and for the unemployment rate to hold steady. U.S. stock index futures edged up on the data. Prices for U.S. Treasury bond prices fell slightly and the dollar was little changed. Monthly job growth has exceeded 200,000 for nine straight months, the longest stretch since 1994, sufficient strength to keep the economy on a higher growth path after it expanded at a 3.5 percent pace in the third quarter. Marco Rubio Backs Out On Federal Court Nomination Of Gay Black Judge He says it’s because of his “judicial fitness” not the “other stuff”… Via CBS Local Miami: MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Senator Marco Rubio withdrew his support for Judge William Thomas’ nomination Tuesday to the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida despite having backed the nomination more than 10 months ago, according to the New York Times. For confirmation to move forward, a nominee must have support from both United States senators in their home state. Senator Rubio said he was concerned about two decisions in cases made by Judge Thomas. If Thomas had been confirmed to the court, he would have been the first openly gay black judge on the federal bench. Rubio said he was concerned about Thomas’ “fitness” for the federal bench including “ questions about his judicial temperament and his willingness to impose appropriate criminal sentences,” according to the Times. Specifically, Rubio took issue with the sentence of Michele Traverso, saying the sentence was too lenient. However, the lead prosecutor and the administrative judge for the 11th Judicial Circuit criminal division both wrote letters saying Judge Thomas acted fairly and well within the law, the Times reported.
