Buttoned-Up Blue Lagoon Remake Makes Mr. Skin Feel Blue

Brooke Shields was absolutely unforgettable in The Blue Lagoon (1980)- not least because she was only 15 when she played perpetually undressed castaway Emmeline. (But don’t panic, Skin fans- Brooke used a body double for her topless scenes in the film, making that palm tree in your pants, while controversial, not out-and-out Traci Lords illegal.) Now that Blue Lagoon is being remade, the time is right for some totally-above-board, completely guilt-free nudity from the new lead, 21-year-old Australian soap star Indiana Evans (left), right? Wrong. Unlike the barely-there scraps of fabric Brooke wore in the 1980 movie, pics from the set show Indiana dressed in sand-covered skinny jeans, tank tops, and jean shorts, though a shot of her clad in a long white robe like actors often wear between takes of nude scenes leaves some potential for skin. So don’t make Mr. Skin blue, Indiana…show off those lagoons! Check out Brooke Shields in The Blue Lagoon (1980) right here at MrSkin.com

ChitChatter: RihRih Refuses To Stay Away From Breezy, Says “I’m Still Going To Do What I Want To Do”

Rihanna Covers May Issue Of Elle, Says “I Don’t Have Anything To Hide” It doesn’t take a genius to figure that RihRih loves living dangerously But now her management is worried she’ll do something rash — like record an album with Chris Brown: Rihanna is on a rebellious streak and has warned her management team she won’t be kept apart from ex Chris Brown or be held back by their rules. Management firm Roc Nation, owned by Jay-Z, advised the pop superstar to stay far from Brown, but sources tell us she’s defied their orders, after putting Brown’s voice on her suggestive song “Birthday Cake,” then tweeting about Brown and his girlfriend Karrueche Tran. “Her management banned her from reuniting with Chris, but she said she’ll do whatever the hell she wants to,” said a source, adding, “Rihanna is rebelling. She says they have been working her too hard and she wants some time to herself. They fear she’ll secretly record an album with Brown, just to defy them.” But another source said: “Rihanna never takes time off. She’s got tons of work lined up, including movie projects.” Recording an album seems a bit extreme, Karrueche definitely won’t like that either — but we don’t think it really makes sense. But at the end of the day we wonder if she really even likes Chris like that or if it’s all just for the thrill of doing what she’s not supposed to do. In the upcoming May issue of ELLE Magazine, RihRih’s cover story is full of quotes about how much she loves doing what she wants to do and getting the biggest possible thrill out of life: In Elle’s May cover story, Rihanna says of any backlash over a re-association with Brown: “People end up wasting their time on the blogs ranting away, and that’s all right . . . Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.” She says following the fallout from Brown assaulting her, she was given an opportunity to express herself more openly: “That was my opening . . . one less skeleton in the closet, one less burden, one less secret; now you know that, so you can say what you want . . . I don’t have anything to hide.” Rihanna also talks about the thrill of risk-taking, which she did by swimming with sharks (literally) in Hawaii for her film debut “Battleship.” “When you know you like a guy, or when you’ve been in love . . . That’s the same feeling you have swimming with sharks,” she tells Elle. “That’s the same feeling you have when doing anything daring, risky, spontaneous, or unpredictable. I think having those butterflies is the closest thing to being in love . . . And when you play it safe, you don’t feel anything at all.” Well damn… Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Do you think RihRih will end up hurting herself because of her thrill-seeking ways. And doesn’t all that “I don’t have anything to hide” talk sound like Ashton may have been right about Rihanna outing their affair? Source More On Bossip! Dev’s Fans Will ‘Finally Hear Something’ At mtvU Spring Break

Singer performed tracks from her much-delayed debut album, The Night the Sun Came Up. By John Mitchell, with reporting by Sway Calloway Dev at 2012 Spring Break Photo: David Becker/ Getty Images The release of Dev ‘s long-awaited debut album was delayed in the U.S. from the fall of 2011 to late March of this year to give the electropop singer/songwriter time to record new material after the birth of her daughter in early December. She’s been laboring with the production duo the Cataracs on the set for nearly two years now, so it’s no surprise that she jumped at the chance to perform at mtvU’s Spring Break festivities in Las Vegas. “Everybody that is here and watching it on TV gets to see all my stuff that they’ve probably never heard before,” Dev told MTV News while prepping to hit the stage at the Palms Casino Resort. “Stuff other than ‘Bass Down Low’ and ‘G6.’ I’m excited for everybody to finally hear something.” The 22-year-old California native is psyched that American audiences can finally get their hands on The Night the Sun Came Up. (The album was released in the U.K. in September 2011.) Dev says it took her a long time to come up with the title, but ultimately she wanted something that “reflects my rags-to-almost-riches story.” One listen to Dev’s genre-mashing style, and it should come as no surprise that she is a fan of “everything.” “I love everything. I listen to a lot of dance stuff, I listen to a lot of rap,” she told MTV News. “I love trap music, that’s probably my favorite. I love real grimy, dirty trap music.” As for her Spring Break performance, Dev promised that she would do what it takes to thrill the audience.”Maybe I’ll just have to add some extra booty on stage, we’ll see,” she joked. “They like booties out here.” What do you think of Dev’s debut album? ‘Titanic 3D’: The Reviews Are In!

Critics are overwhelmingly impressed with James Cameron’s 3-D conversion. By Kevin P. Sullivan Kate Winslet at the “Titanic 3D” premiere Photo: Getty Images James Cameron has never been known for taking things halfway, and the new 3-D conversion of his epic “Titanic” is no exception. Cameron and his team spent years adding computer-generated depth to each frame to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the tragedy. When the director screened 20 minutes of footage for journalists last October, they responded with warm reviews, but now the final product is ready to set sail. Cameron has always stood by 3-D technology for film, through seemingly endless criticism, and now the reviews for his latest 3-D product are coming in as raves. Drew McWeeny from HitFix doled out high praise for “Titanic 3D,” calling it “the very best 3-D conversion of a film that I’ve seen so far.” Though the quality of the 3-D impressed McWeeny overall, he concluded that nothing about the new version of “Titanic” is really that different. “Adding 3-D to that works technically, but I’m not sure it changed anything, one way or another, emotionally,” he said. When converting a film as iconic as “Titanic,” expectations for the re-release can be very high. Lou Lumenick from the New York Post applauded Cameron’s use of 3-D, saying that it even enhanced the quality of the film. “James Cameron’s spectacular new 3-D version of ‘Titanic’ is everything I’d hoped for, and more,” Lumenick said. “He judiciously — and sometimes with great subtlety — uses the technology to make a great film even greater.” Lumenick said he found “Titanic 3D” “less of a strain on the eyes” than Cameron’s “Avatar.” While most 3-D movies come with complaints from the critics, post-conversion tends to suffer a worse fate. Scott Mantz from “Access Hollywood,” however, wrote that the post work on “Titanic” surpasses even films made for the format. “But what’s amazing is that for a movie that was shot in 2-D, ‘Titanic’ looks amazing in 3-D — almost like it was meant to be in 3-D all along.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Titanic.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Robert Pattinson’s ‘Bel Ami’ Trailer: Five Key Scenes

‘Twilight’ heartthrob seduces three women in sneak peek of the June 8 film. By Fallon Prinzivalli Robert Pattinson in “Bel Ami” Photo: Magnolia Pictures Just when news on Robert Pattinson ‘s “Bel Ami” seemed few and far between, the American trailer for the film dropped Tuesday (April 3)! Set in the late 18th century, the period film follows George Duroy (Pattinson), a poor soldier who passionately seduces the wives of France’s elite in an attempt to better his circumstances. But like most manipulation, it only gets Duroy so far. Once the most influential men in Paris realize he’s betraying them, his attempts are foiled. Some lucky fans already saw the movie, as “Bel Ami” dropped last month in the U.K. While U.S. fans wait for the release of the film on June 8, take a look at the five must-see scenes from the trailer: In the Shadows Our introduction to Duroy happens at a party. The wealthiest families in France are feasting and dancing wearing the most lavish of outfits when we notice him staring in through the window. The look on his face is not one you’d expect from a character on the outside looking in — one that’s dejected and sad — but rather angry and jealous. An Opportune Dinner At a dinner with some of Paris’ most influential couples, the women of the story are introduced to Duroy — they include Kristen Scott Thomas, who plays Virginie Walters, Christina Ricci as Clotilde de Marelle and Uma Thurman, who gives life to Madeleine Forestier. At the dinner table, in reference to Duroy, Walters states, “A handsome, young soldier homesick and alone.” De Marelle follows up with the question, “But how could you be lonely?” The next shot shows Duroy with a sly smile on his face, sitting back in his chair as if he already knows the seduction these women will succumb to. The Seduction Begins Following the dinner scene, the trailer shows Duroy at another social event. A character voice-over with a line from the movie says, “The most important people in Paris are not the men, but their wives.” Duroy talks to de Marelle and asks her what she enjoys, to which she says, “Everything.” The next few seconds lead to a beautiful montage of the steamy romances the soldier has with Thomas’, Ricci’s and Thurman’s characters. Romance: Real or Fake? Duroy asks de Marelle, “Why do you come back to me?” Her reply (“I don’t know”) and his statement that follows (“I’ve been a fool”) allude to the thought that maybe he’s not faking the romances after all. While there’s no doubt that he’s manipulating these three women, it’s possible that the more time he spends around them, the more his fondness for them grows. Stepping Into the Light “There is no next life, and I am going to live,” Duroy says as the final shot of the trailer shows him stepping out of a dark building and into the light outside. Maybe there’s hope for the womanizer in the end. We’re fans of a happy ending, especially when the character we’re rooting for is played by one of our favorite “Twilight” actors. We hope this last shot is the director’s way of telling us Pattinson’s amoral character is redeemed.
