Where Will Bruno Mars’ ‘Rain’ Fall In ‘Breaking Dawn’?

MTV News takes a closer listen to ‘It Will Rain’ for lyrical clues about its placement in the film. By Jocelyn Vena and Amy Wilkinson Bruno Mars Photo: Jemal Countess/Getty Images On Tuesday (September 27), Bruno Mars dropped the sweeping, heartbreaking “It Will Rain,” the lead single from the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” soundtrack , which drops November 8. The Smeezingtons-produced song is all about the pain someone feels when they are deeply in love. On it, Mars croons tortured lines like “There’s no religion that could save me/ No matter how long my knees are on the floor/ So keep in mind all the sacrifices I’m making/ To keep you by my side/ And keep you from walking out the door.” While Twilighters will have to wait until November 18 to find out where the song will be featured in the flick, there are several lyrical cues that offer hints. Hit play on the embedded video as we talk through the song, then read on for a deeper exploration. The Wedding Of course it won’t appear in the actual wedding scene, like when Bella walks down the aisle, but lines like “I’ll never be your mother’s favorite/ Your daddy can’t even look me in the eye/ If I was in their shoes I’d be doing the same/ Say, ‘There goes my little girl/ Walking with that troublesome guy’ ” certainly mirror Charlie’s feelings about the nuptials. Jacob’s Goodbye When Mars sings, “Don’t you say goodbye/ Don’t you say goodbye/ I’ll pick up these broken pieces till I’m bleeding/ If that’ll make it right,” it seems to mimic the heartbreak Jacob feels as he sees Bella marry another man and says goodbye to her once more. The Honeymoon Sure, the song is about heartbreak and pain, but the sexy, sultry nature of the track could make for the right kind of mood-setter as Bella and Edward finally get it on. The Pregnancy As Mars cries, ” ‘Cause there’ll be no sunlight/If I lose you, baby/ There’ll be no clear skies/ If I lose you, baby/ And just like the clouds, my eyes will do the same/ If you walk away, every day it’ll rain,” it mirrors Edward’s angst as he thinks he might lose Bella if she has their child, a vampire/human hybrid. Jonah Hill ‘Not Mad’ At ‘Lion King’ Triumph Over ‘Moneyball’

‘If everyone goes to see a movie that’s 20 years old … they’re just going to re-release 20-year-old movies,’ Hill jokes about his box-office competition. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf Jonah Hill Photo: MTV News Even though Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill ‘s well-received “Moneyball” wasn’t able to conquer Disney’s re-release of “The Lion King” at the box office over its opening weekend, Hill isn’t worried about the potential for continued success of the underdog- and baseball-themed flick. He’s worried about what message that might send to studio executives. “I’m not mad at ‘The Lion King,’ ” Hill said with sincerity and a smile. “I just think if everyone goes to see a movie that’s 20 years old getting re-released, they’re just going to re-release 20-year-old movies instead of making new original movies, and that would be a shame.” But even more newsworthy than the film’s box-office haul is all the early awards buzz it is getting, specifically the positive attention Hill’s performance has received. When we asked the 27-year-old what it might mean to be recognized for his work with an Oscar or Golden Globe nomination, he wasn’t sure how to react just yet. “I don’t know, I don’t know. I’m just really proud of the movie. Stuff like that is crazy when you hear someone ask you that question legitimately,” he said. “It’s really flattering and cool, but for me the whole experience has been wonderful and I’m already as proud as I would be would I get to be up for an award. I’ve never been up for any award in my life … actually an MTV award [Best Comedic Performance and Best Newcomer noms for “Superbad”], so that was already exciting enough for me. “I don’t know,” he continued. “Basically it’s just a crazy, insane question to be asked and you don’t really know what to say when someone asks you that kind of question.” No matter what happens over the course of the next few months, Hill is proud of his performance and excited that “Moneyball” is exposing him to new audiences outside of those who know him from his work in comedies. “What’s interesting to me is that it’s been completely different audiences [going to see “Moneyball”]. The audiences who would see “Superbad” or “Get Him to the Greek” or “The Sitter” hasn’t been the audience that’s seen “Moneyball” so far. The fortunate thing for me is that I’m getting a much older audience to understand me as an actor.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Moneyball.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Spencer Pratt: Still Broke! Still Unemployed!

Earlier this summer, we told you how despite banking millions during their heyday as professional, annoying celebrities, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are broke. Well, according to Us Weekly , this is still the case ! Pratt, in particular, is so unpopular that his own agent won’t even answer his calls! That’s pretty bad, although you need to get a client work in order to get commission. That’s not happening, so just let it go to voicemail, are we wrong? Unemployed mountain man Spencer Pratt is very much at sea. Speaking of which, Spencer owes his former agency “hundreds of thousands of dollars in commissions” from the coin he banked back when the gettin’ was good. That money, of course, is long gone, having been blown on Heidi’s “music” career, up there with Enron and Worldcom among the worst investments of all time. The whole spiritual/healing crystal thing never really panned out either. A source adds that Pratt, despite being persona non grata in L.A., calls his agent up to 30 times a day. “They just laugh or pick up and hang up,” the source said.

Exclusive Video: Guillermo del Toro on Making Mimic an ‘A-Movie’

Years before Guillermo del Toro made a name for himself with dark box office hits like Blade II , Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy , Miramax gave the director a $30 million budget to film the insect horror film Mimic . At the time of its 1997 release, del Toro distanced himself from the studio-manipulated sci-fi flick — about a killer strain of bugs created by a well-meaning entomologist (Mira Sorvino) — but on September 27, Lionsgate releases a director’s cut Blu-ray of which del Toro finally approves. Ahead, find an exclusive clip from one of the Blu-ray’s new features in which the director discusses how he made Mimic an ‘A-Movie.’

What The Eff?!? 64 Year-Old Hiker Inspired By The Film ’127 Hours’ Gets Trapped In Same Canyon For FOUR DAYS!!

Did this guy have to cut his arm off with a pocket-knife too?? Hit the jump and find out! A 64-year-old hiker named Amos Wayne Richards survived 96 hours (that’s four days, people!) trapped in Utah’s Canyonlands National Park with a broken leg and dislocated shoulder. What was he doing out there in the first place? Why, he was inspired by the film 127 Hours starring James Franco! So how did this all happen? It seems like the North Carolina native took the film—based on Aron Ralston’s real-life journey—a little too much to heart and decided to go on the same hiking trip earlier this month through Little Blue John Canyon that Ralston embarked on, according to published reports. Things didn’t go exactly as planned. The 127 Hours super-fan took a ten-foot fall, which broke his leg and dislocated his shoulder. Ironically enough, Richards found himself trapped not far from where Ralston had to cut off his arm with a pocketknife. “It took me about three or four minutes to work my shoulder and get it back in place,” Richards told WBTV in Charlotte. “Once I got it back in place, I stood up and realized my ankle hurt a little bit.” Thankfully, park rangers realized something was wrong when the hiker failed to return to his campsite and searched for Richards. Two days later, they found his car near the Little Blue John trailhead. Once rescued, Richards, who had been slowly dragging himself back the way he had come, was treated for a shattered leg and dehydration and is now recuperating in North Carolina. Sorry chief, but that movie isn’t exactly inspirational, more of a cautionary tale if anything. It isn’t like people rushed to the beaches after JAWS came out…SMH Source
