Hit ‘Em Up: Jada Pinkett-Smith Tearfully Explains Why She’s Still BIG Mad At The Tupac Biopic

Nicky Nelson/WENN.com WELP… Jada Pinkett-Smith Blasts “All Eyez On Me” Jada Pinkett-Smith is still none too pleased by the Tupac biopic and she’s once again airing out the movie. The actress who’s currently promoting her film “Girls Trip” recently stopped by Atlanta’s “The Ryan Cameron Morning Show With Wanda Smith” and spoke candidly on her true feelings on “All Eyez On Me” which she previously called “deeply hurtful.” According to Jada nothing’s changed, her feelings are STILL hurt because the film was a “disservice” to Pac’s legacy. “What you’re seeing in regards to my relationship with 2Pac is not true,” she told The Ryan Cameron Morning Show with Wanda Smith and Jarard J. “Those posts, the actress explained, were “important to me because my relationship was really special and it was very complicated; and I just felt like [the movie] was a huge disservice. “My relationship with Pac would have shown people a true—what he truly was,” she added. “Cause it’s one thing to see Pac’s persona, publicly, and who he was personally.” She also flat-out called it “exploitive” and tearfully added that we as a people need to “protect” important individuals to our culture. https://www.instagram.com/p/BWcvTw7A7HQ/?taken-by=v103atlanta “I felt like [‘All Eyez On Me’] was exploitive of me and Pac – how they used our relationship to sell a movie. And I just felt like it was tomb raiding, in regards to Pac,” said Jada. “I feel like we as black people, we have got to protect those individuals that we say are important to us, to our history and to our culture. We can not expect other people to do that if we’re not willing to do that ourselves. Pac is precious to us.” “If you really feel like you did right by Pac, then congratulations,” Pinkett Smith added almost admonishingly. “But if you didn’t, really sit with that. Cause I hope next time if you get an opportunity to make another movie about a legend you’ll do a different thing.” Y I K E S. Can you really be mad at Jada for wanting to protect the legacy of one of her close friends??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_YXqiQImDs&list=PLfdQ88ZUfipaEBgQpZxt0Pd-Tb4xL8WFx&index=1 More on the flip. https://www.instagram.com/p/BWdgAzzAhTO/?taken-by=v103atlanta Jada later explained to V-103’s Big Tigger why speaking on the film brought her to tears. “Because I can’t kick somebody’s a** or throw a table,” said Jada. “All I can do is cry…I get really angry.” But with that, Pinkett Smith added; “I have decided that I will start sharing more, especially since that movie came out. Because I was like, ‘if they only really knew… we adored each other. It was really about survival between us. “When people hold you down when you really need to be held down, you just never forget that.”

Wonder Woman: Misogynist Hater ROASTED by Austin Mayor Steve Adler!

Have you seen Wonder Woman yet? I have. It was great. A friend cried during it. The audience applauded at the end. But the film’s release hasn’t been a stranger to controversy. One particularly hateful response to a women-only screening got an epic smack-down by none other than the mayor of Austin, Texas. Yeah, usually mayors don’t get a lot of attention for talking about superhero movies, and Mayor Steve Adler isn’t really an exception. He’s talking about sexism and human dignity. The controversy wasn’t so much about Wonder Woman itself, but about one theater’s decision to host a women-only screening, and one of the men who absolutely flipped out about it. In case it actually needs to be stated, like, men-only screenings of films aren’t uncommon. Also plenty of bars still have “Ladies Night” and that sort of thing.  It’s a little weird, sure, though we can totally understand why some women would want to see the film in the absence of guys like whatever piece of work wrote this horrifying email to Austin’s mayor. “The notion of a woman hero is a fine example of women’s eagerness to accept the appearance of achievement without actual achievement. “Women learn from an early age to value make-up, that it’s OK to pretend that you are greater than you actually are,” he writes, only after hoping for Austin’s defamation and accusing the theater of “sexism.” All superheroes are pretend, not just the lady ones. The makeup comment is so weird that we don’t even know how to respond except to say that clearly this guy doesn’t ever do anything to improve his appearance. “Women pretend they do not know that only men serve in combat because they are content to have an easier ride. Women gladly accept gold medals at the Olympics for coming in 10th and competing only against the second class of athletes,” he says as if he isn’t the wrongest person to ever live. “Name something invented by a woman! Achievements by the second rate gender pale in comparison to virtually everything great in human history was accomplished by men, not women,” he continued, just keeping on digging that hole. The short version of all of this is that a man who despises women claims that he doesn’t. He then signs his name, Richard A. Ameduri, because that’s totally a letter where you’d want to include your name. Steve Adler’s letter in response is all kinds of savage. “I am writing to alert you that your email account has been hacked by an unfortunate and unusually hostile individual,” he begins. “Please remedy your account’s security right away, lest this person’s uninformed and sexist rantings give you a bad name. After all, we men have to look out for each other!” That’s tongue-in-cheek and beautiful, right? Then he dives in and just begins solidly refuting the vile man’s sexist claims. “Can you imagine if someone thought that you didn’t know women could serve in our combat units now without exclusion?” he asked. You can feel the sarcasm emanating in waves from the screen. Remember that claim that women never invented anything? Adler sure did . “What if someone thought you didn’t know that women invented medical syringes, life rafts, fire escapes, central and solar heating, a war-time communications system for radio-controlling torpedoes that laid the technological foundations for everything from Wi-Fi to GPS, and beer?” A nicely succinct list. Which of course could have been longer. He also took the time to remind the whiner that a private business can hold whatever screenings they like. “And I hesitate to imagine,” he adds. “How embarrassed you’d be if someone thought you were upset that a private business was realizing a business opportunity by reserving one screening this weekend for women to see a superhero movie.” Savage . We love seeing intelligent politicians go off on people who deserve it. And speaking of things getting what they deserve, Wonder Woman is already a hit at the box office after only Thursday night’s early previews. We can’t wait to see what kind of numbers she rakes in by the end of the weekend.

Powers Boothe Dies; Veteran Actor Was 68 Years Old

Powers Boothe, a veteran actor of both the big screen and the small screen, died on Sunday in his sleep. He was 68 years old. According to publicist Karen Samfilippo, Boothe passed away inside his Los Angeles home from natural causes. A private service will be held for him this week in his native state of Texas, while his family is contemplating a more public memorial at some point in the future. Beau Bridges, another long-time star in the industry, Tweeted confirmation of the sad news on Sunday afternoon, writing the following message: Boothe was mostly known for portraying fictional villains, from saloon owner Cy Tolliver on HBO’s Deadwood to one of his more recent appearances on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He grew up on a Texas farm and began his acting career on stage, starring in a number of Shakespearean productions, including Henry IV. After becoming the first member of his family to graduate from college, he made his Broadway debut in the 1970s in Lone Star & Pvt. Wars. In 1980, Boothe won an Emmy Award for lead actor in a limited series or special for playing cult leader Jim Jones in CBS’ Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones. He took home that trophy during an actors strike and decided to cross the picket line to accept it, saying at the time: “This may be either the bravest moment of my career or the dumbest.” Boothe also was nominated two ensemble SAG Awards, first in 1996 alongside the cast of Nixon and then again in 2007 with the cast of Deadwood. He’s probably best known to current movie goers for having players Senator Roark in the Sin City franchise. Also in the film universe, he portrayed Alexander Haig in Nixon (1995)… a sheriff in another Oliver Stone movie, U Turn (1997)… and was unforgettable as the evil gunman Curly Bill Brocius in Tombstone (1993). Boothe played Connie Britton’s father on Nashville and the President of the United States on a season of 24. “I loved acting with you #PowersBoothe you were a gentlemen and a great actor,” wrote Lea Thompson in response to Boothe’s passing. His Deadwood co-star, Garret Dillahunt, described the star on Facebook as “a formidable adversary, baseball lover and poser hater,” adding as a tribute: “Give em hell Powers.” In 2009, Boothe was inducted in the Texas Film Hall of Fame, along with actor and singer Billy Bob Thornton. Those who wish to honor the late star can send donations to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which assists the country’s defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need.
