“42″ Star Chadwick Boseman “Mesmerizes” As James Brown In New Flick “Get On Up” [Video]

For a guy with no singing or dancing training he’s really killing it. The film hasn’t even hit screens yet and “42″ actor Chadwick Boseman is already being praised for his portrayal of James Brown in an upcoming biopic. Via Shadow and Act reports : Chadwick Boseman stars as James Brown in the upcoming Universal Pictures’ biopic titled Get on Up, directed by The Help’s Tate Taylor, and produced by Brian Grazer and Mick Jagger. The footage comes courtesy of the Today morning show, in an interview with producers Grazer and Jagger, as well as star Boseman, who discuss the project, as footage of Boseman as Brown is intercut throughout. Universal has set the film’s release date for August 1, 2014, which isn’t too far away (5 months from now); so I expect a first trailer/teaser to surface soon. Get on Up, which promises a “warts and all” telling of Brown’s life story on film, boasts an impressive cast which includes Viola Davis (Brown’s mom), Octavia Spencer (Brown’s aunt), Lennie James (Brown’s father), Nelsan Ellis (Bobby Byrd), and others. Jill Scott, Dan Aykroyd, Keith Robinson also feature, and, based on the video below, Craig Robinson is also in the film (there wasn’t an official announcement on his attachment). IMDBPro states that he’s playing Maceo Parker. Ralph Tresvant (of New Edition fame) is also listed in the credits, playing Sam Cooke. And Tika Sumpter is Yvonne Fair, who performed with Brown early in his career. Get on Up was penned by Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth, who wrote the script for Fair Game, which starred Naomi Watts and Sean Penn. Check out the footage below, as Boseman shows us he can move just like James Brown. Even director Tate Taylor shares just how mesmerized he’s been with Boseman’s performance, adding that, sometimes he forgets to say “cut” after a scene is shot, because of how impressive Boseman is in the role. That’s what best friends are for.  Brooklyn Decker had quite the silly reaction when she found out BFF Chrissy Teigen had landed the coveted cover of the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue .  “Ps- I peed my pants when I found out. Literally. Peed down my leg. @CHRISSYTEIGEN!!!!!!,” the blond beauty revealed on Twitter. it’s safe to say she was pretty excited.  A topless Chrissy graces the mag’s 50th anniversary edition alongside models Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge .  Her good buddy Brooklyn appeared (also topless) on the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue .  We love that the gals are so supportive of one another, even if urination is involved. Fifty Shades of Grey Poster: One Year …

Fifty Shades of Grey is celebrating Valentine’s Day – the one-year mark before the film’s 2015 release – with a poster showing us our first glimpse of Ana Steele! In the first Fifty Shades of Grey poster , we saw Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey. In that image, the businessman gazes out his office window into the distance. the tagline: “Mr. Grey will see you now.” Here, we also see Christian from the back, only he’s turned to face Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), his soon-to-be paramour and S&M plaything. The highly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James’ novel hits theaters on Valentine’s Day weekend next winter. A long wait, but good timing for such an event. Take a look at the first poster below: Johnson said in an interview this week that preparing for the role has been boring (seriously), but that’s just for the early stages of her English major character. Lindsay Lohan Has Mean Girls Reunion: So Fetch!

You go, Glen Coco!  Lindsay Lohan gave us the best early #TBT imaginable when she posted a pic with her Mean Girls  co-star, Daniel Franzese, who played Damian! “@whatsupdanny #soquiche #werknyc,” Lohan captioned the smiley snap.  The pair met up in NYC on Wednesday for a night out on the town.  Wait, where are the pink outfits, guys? On Wednesdays you wear pink! Want to feel old? It’s been 10 years since Lindsay starred in the Tina Fey-penned comedy classic.  Director Mark Waters recently spoke about the film and shared some interesting tidbits, including the fact that Lindsay originally wanted to originally play the role of Plastics leader, Regina George.  He also revealed that Amanda Seyfried , who ended up playing ditzy Karen Smith, was also a Regina front-runner: “The person who was neck and neck for the role of Regina—and we agonized over which one we were going to cast—was Amanda Seyfried. She  tested for Regina and was kind of brilliant, and very different than Rachel’s approach. She played it in a much more ethereal but still kind of scary way.
