Rugrats Live-Action Film Announced

Original post:

Nickelodeon announced that the beloved 90s cartoon is getting a television re-launch with a 26 episode order. There is also a live-action movie with CGI characters on the way. I love the Rugrats with every fiber of my being and am looking forward to a cartoon revival. Not really digging a live action movie though. Here’s a question, is the new Rugrats revival going to be like a direct continuation (ie with Kimi, and Dill) or are restarting the whole show from the beginning but with smartphones like in the recent comics? How do you feel about Rugrats getting a television re-launch and a live-action movie? https://t.co/e4bHR7GPQX — Twitter Moments (@TwitterMoments) July 17, 2018

Here is the original post:

Source: Marvel / Disney It was expected but  Marvel now owns the highest grossing opening weekend (again) as  Avengers: Endgame   not only became the fastest film to a number of box-office benchmarks, it may well be the biggest movie of all-time. OPENING WEEKEND RECORD:   Deadline is reporting that the film from Anthony and Joe Russo is set to make $358.5 million over its three-day opening weekend and could be even more as Sunday totals are finalized. It already set the single day opening record of $158.3 million on Friday and early preview screenings of $60 million on Thursday. The previous owner of the single-day and opening records was  Star Wars: The Force Awakens which made $119 million.  Endgame  beat that by $39.2 million.  Avengers: Infinity War held the Saturday record with $82.1 million and  Endgame  topped that by $29.3 million. Endgame ‘s Friday outstrips  Star Wars: The Force Awakens’  previous opening and single-day record of $119.1M by $39.2M, and Saturday beats Avengers: Infinity War ‘s previous Saturday record of $82.1M by $29.3M. DISNEY RECORD:  With it’s $350 million-plus intake, Endgame becomes the fifth Disney movie to crack $200 million in its opening weekend and the fourth movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to do so. The other two Disney movies?  Star Wars: The Last Jedi  and  Star Wars: The Force Awakens . The only non-Disney movie in the top 5 in terms of opening weekends?  Jurassic World in 2015. INTERNATIONAL RECORD:  The film picked up $859 million from international audiences (with China accounting for $330 million) for a record-demolishing $1.2 billion worldwide weekend. That already gives Endgame  the 18th highest global gross ever, right behind the $1.21 billion worldwide finish of Iron Man 3 . Expect the numbers to keep getting crazy as fans go back for repeat viewings. Viola Davis Spreads Awareness About Diabetes Through New Documentary

View post:

T he racial health disparity surrounding diabetes is on the rise. According to a study conducted by the National Institutes of Health , in the U.S. Black adults are almost twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes in comparison to white adults. Actress Viola Davis is utilizing her platform as an avenue to spread awareness about this matter in hopes of reversing this alarming trend. She recently joined forces with the pharmaceutical company Merck to narrate a documentary that captures how the disease is impacting communities across the country, PR Newswire reported. Merck and Viola Davis to Debut A Touch of Sugar During Tribeca Film Festival® https://t.co/3WpwPDBYIt — PRNhealth (@PRNhealth) April 25, 2019 The film—titled A Touch of Sugar —is a part of a larger initiative led by Merck called America’s Diabetes Challenge: Get to Your Goals . The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday. For Davis, the diabetes struggle is personal. She herself has prediabetes, two of her sisters were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and one of her family members died after battling with the disease. “I’m one of the 84 million American adults living with prediabetes and I’m sharing my story for the first time in an effort to inspire others to take action against the type 2 diabetes epidemic,” she said in a statement. “My sisters are both struggling with type 2 diabetes and my aunt also died from complications of the disease. Growing up, we just said they had ‘the sugar,’ which didn’t sound that concerning. But, when you look at the facts, there’s nothing harmless about diabetes – it’s a chronic disease that needs to be taken seriously if we’re going to get it under control.” The film explores how culture and socio-economic issues are intertwined with the epidemic. Conrod Kelly who serves as the Executive Director of the Diabetes Franchise at Merck says the film was created to put “a much-needed spotlight on the real people affected by it firsthand,” and hopes that it inspires people to take action. Films like A Touch of Sugar are needed to spread awareness about the ever-growing epidemic. According to the news outlet, 30 million adults in the U.S. are living with diabetes. Avengers Endgame Reviews: A Fitting End to the Saga?

We're not sure if you've heard, but Avengers: Endgame is now ready for your viewing pleasure. The concluding saga in this Marvel Cinematic Universe journey, the film will bring together ALL your favorite characters and actors and actresses and pretty much everything you have loved about all these Avengers. But will you actually love the blockbuster itself? We've collected a number of Avengers: Endgame reviews down below in order to help you decide whether the movie is worth attending. (Just kidding: We know you'll be going no matter what. But you must be curious to see what the professionals are saying, right?) 1. Chris Hewitt, Minneapolis Star Tribune It’s an episodic movie, so it shines in parts, rather than as a whole, but there are plenty of good parts. 2. Peter Travers, Rolling Stone The MCU’s long goodbye to the Avengers (is it really?) comes off as truly epic and thunderously exciting. But here’s the big surprise-it’s also an emotional wipeout 3. James Berardinelli, ReelViews Avengers: Endgame isn’t as brash, surprising, or relentless as its predecessor but it’s a worthy conclusion to the Infinity War duology and provides a satisfying end to the First Avengers Era. 4. Jake Wilson, The Age (Australia) For young adults who have literally grown up with these movies, the experience may be emotionally overwhelming. 5. Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times The Motion Picture Academy never recognizes great acting if it comes attached to a costume or a cape. That doesn’t mean Downey isn’t deserving of an Oscar. It’s great acting in a great film. 6. Kim Newman, Sight and Sound The last-reel battle pretty much has to be the most satisfying superhero movie set piece of all time, delivering the multiple closures this long-in-the-telling saga needs.
