Directed by Melina Matsoukas (“Hard,” “S&M,” “Rude Boy,” “Rockstar 101”), the clip features Rihanna and British model/boxer Dudley O’Shaughnessy in a drug-fueled love affair full of lusty moments and heated fights. In the end, Rihanna walks away from it all, unable to deal with the pain of that lifestyle. The buzzy video certainly had fans talking. “This video reminds me of Sid Vicious and Nancy [Spungen], maybe not as bad as how Sid and Nancy were with each other but pretty intense,” Cristian noted in a comment. “This video is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced,” Kirsten said. “It stuns me from beginning to end, lighting this fire inside of me I forgot was there. The passion oozes out of the screen while this video is playing. Brilliant, just brilliant.” “Yes I Totally Agree Rihanna is fast becoming the new Madonna,” Kyle added. “She pushes the envelop and gives us something to think about however uncomfortable it may be. Hands down, this is one of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. I guess I need to come out of my closet and show her some love openly.” While many fans commended Rihanna for her cinematic clip, it was hard for some not to note its depictions of domestic violence and drug use. “This video sends out the wrong message,” Deshea wrote. “It’s very graphic, nothing that they’re doing is love, it’s lust!” In the opinion of some commenters like Kevin, the video should stand without any judgment. “The video is real and I think ppl need to stop judging her and let her do her thing,” he said. “Music is supposed to provoke and invoke and that’s just what she’s doing. Stop hating on the things you don’t understand. Ppl are only out to judge. Just when you thought the beef between “Watch The Throne” cohorts Hov & Kanye and Wheelchair Jimmy… we mean Drake was cooling off, it seems the trio have been exchanging verbal jabs at each other lyrically. It all started off with Drake’s diss at the end off the Rick Ross and Lil Wayne assisted jam, “I’m On One”. Hate the rumours, hate the BS. Hate these FKN allegations, I’m just feeling like the throne is for the taking. Watch me take it! Then later on his recently released, “Dreams Money Can Buy”, he throws even more shade. Ohh, I never seen the car you claim to drive. ISHT I seen it, you just ain’t inside. And I feel like lately I went from top 5 to remaining 5. My favorite rappers either lost it or they ain’t alive Now while you marinate on that, check out the not so subltle response from Mr.West on “Otis”. Damn Yeezy and Hov, where the hell ya been? N****s talkin’ real reckless: stuntmen. I adopted these n***as, Phillip Drummond ‘em. Now I’m bout to make them tuck they whole summer in. They say I’m crazy, well, I’m ’bout to go dumb again. I used to rip into Tyler Shields for being a hack of a photographer who just managed to have the right celebrity friends that propelled him into photographer celebrity….but then I spoke to someone who knows him and she assures me that he’s not some try hard, full of shit, obvious attempt at shocking concept with celebrity pussy like he was the next Terry Richardson with less vision….and even if he was, who cares, cuz I’m the fucker writing about his work…adding fuel to the fire that is his hype…. The teen star played his forthcoming Christmas song “Mistletoe” for his adoring fans abroad. The singer, who is currently on tour in South America , finally gave fans an idea of what his November 1 release, Under the Mistletoe , will sound like. In footage posted at DirectLyrics , Bieber told the crowd, “This is the first time anywhere in the world that I’m playing this, so this is special. This is just for you.” The song opens with jingling bells before a guitar and bongos kick in for the reggae-laced holiday tune, with Bieber singing, “It’s the most beautiful time of the year.” This marks the first preview of Bieber’s holiday album. Later in the song he sings, “Word on the street’s that he’s coming tonight/ Reindeers flying through the sky so high.” Things get a bit more romantic when he sings, “Under the mistletoe with you/ Shorty, with you/ With you/ Under the mistletoe.” The song is full of holidayisms, like when Bieber sings, “Gathering around the fire/ Chestnuts roasting like a hot July/ I should be playing in the winter snow/ But I will be under the mistletoe/ With you.” He also keeps it sweet when he sings, “I don’t want to miss out on the holiday/ But I can’t stop staring at your face/ I should be playing in the winter snow/ But I will be under the mistletoe/ With you.” After the show, Bieber tweeted , “That crowd was RIGHT TONIGHT!!! RIO WENT HARD!! CRAZY SHOW and ENERGY TONIGHT. SOLD OUT STADIUM STATUS!!! BRAZIL!!!! #HYPED oh yeah … and i sang a little bit of #Mistletoe tonight.” The single officially drops October 18. Bieber shot a video for “Mistletoe” late last month. The album itself will feature collaborations with Mariah Carey , Boyz II Men, Usher, the Band Perry and Busta Rhymes.
