Michelle Obama H&M Dress: What Do You Think?

First Lady Michelle Obama is often lauded for fashion sense, ranging from chic and high-end couture to affordable, practical pieces anyone might wear. Earlier this week, she appeared on the Today show in $34.95 dress from none other than H&M! The dress also comes sleeveless, and is available now. Michelle gave the navy-and-white print a nice personal touch by adding an orange obi-style belt and pairing it with bright yellow pumps. Thoughts? Take a look and tell us what you think of her latest fashion choice below … What do you think of Michelle Obama’s dress?

A “Lil Positivity” Michelle Obama And Wal-Mart Team Up For “Lets Move!”, Promotes Healthy Eating For Families

The first lady is trying to save the youth and change their eating habits, and after taking a look at the kids around the local mall, we’re not mad at her. Michelle Obama is really making an effort to change the way Americans view healthy food. Her “Let’s Move” campaign aims to promote exercise and better food choices for families, and already she has started to push for salad bars in school cafeterias, and encouraged food giants like Kraft and Coca Cola to stop serving out crap (for lack of a better word). So, it makes sense then that companies who want to make the First Lady happy might heed her advice. And now Walmart is doing just that, by unveiling a plan to overhaul the types of food sold at its super center stores across the country. “No family should have to choose between food that is healthier for them and food they can afford,” stated Bill Simon, president and CEO of Walmart. “We are committed to working with suppliers, government and non-governmental organizations to provide solutions that help Americans eat healthier and live a better life.” Its not a joke people, the sh*t they tryna feed us nowadays WILL kill you if you don’t take care of yourself. Act accordingly… Source

Who Does Barbara Walters Find Fascinating?

As she does at the conclusion of every year, Barbara Walters has compiled a list of the world’s Most Fascinating People. Really just a rundown of those who have been in the news (seriously, we all love Betty White, but does a single reader find her “fascinating?”), the following celebrities made the cut: Sandra Bullock

Sarah Palin Rips Michelle Obama, Decries First Lady’s Efforts to Curb Childhood Obesity

Sigh. Sarah Palin is back in the news again. For whatever reason, the ex-Alaska Governor took First Lady Michelle Obama and her efforts to improve childhood nutrition to task on Laura Ingraham’s radio show. We know conservatives believe in smaller government, and there are strong cases to be made for that philosophy. Attacking Michelle’s nutrition initiative, though? Sarah Palin is not a fan of Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity efforts . Of the First Lady, Palin told Ingraham that “I think she has got a different worldview and she is not hesitant at all to share what her worldview is.” As for Sarah Palin’s worldview, no one can make sense of it, but she does use big words like “exceptionalism” in the rant against Michelle below: “She encapsulated what her view of America is, I believe, unless she has evolved and things have changed in the last two years, but she said it on the campaign trail twice that it was the first time that she had been proud of her country when finally people were paying attention to Barack Obama.” “I think that’s appalling. We can think of this infinite number of reasons to be proud of American exceptionalism and it baffles me that anybody would have that view and then allow that view to bleed over into policy.” “Take her anti-obesity thing that she is on. She is on this kick, right. What she is telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat.” “I know I’m going to be again criticized for bringing this up, but instead of a government thinking that they need to take over and make decisions for us according to some politician or politician’s wife priorities, just leave us alone, get off our back, and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track.” Yes … the government needs to “get off our back” for this silly “anti-obesity thing.” Why encourage health when we can be as fat as we want! Freedom rules! Can’t you encourage people to make smarter choices that benefit themselves and the public health system as a whole? How is that an evil federal takeover? Michelle Obama’s Burden and the Obamas’ Hard Hearts

It’s tough being the wife of the most powerful man in the world, just ask Michelle Obama. Carla Bruni, who seemed to reveal her distaste for the First Lady in previous pictures, reveals Michelle’s whiny comments in her recent book [Aside: why is a sitting world leader’s spouse writing a tell-all? What tawdriness.] Anyway,  here’s what was allegedly said: Michelle Obama thinks being America’s First Lady is ‘hell’, Carla Bruni reveals today in a wildly indiscreet book. Miss Bruni divulges that Mrs Obama replied when asked about her position as the U.S. president’s wife: ‘Don’t ask! It’s hell. I can’t stand it!’ Details of the private conversation, which took place at the White House during an official visit by Nicolas Sarkozy last March, emerged in Carla And The Ambitious, a book written in collaboration with Miss Bruni. Well, of course the job is difficult-prepared meals, jet-setting, specially designed clothes, lecturing the American people on eating apples is exhausting work. Also, it’s awful. Not out-of-a-job awful. Not repo awful. Not foreclosure awful. Not hungry awful. But, yeah, being First Lady is awful. Michelle Obama and that husband of her’s just don’t quite cast an empathetic image, do they? NPR kvetches about this problem : Is President Obama too rational to be likable? Obama comes across as so self-contained that his personality almost seems like a bubble around him – perhaps even more so than the bubble that surrounds any president, thanks to the Secret Service and all the trappings of the White House. “Obama’s analytic style of decision-making and his unwillingness to show emotion makes it hard for people to relate to him,” says Stephen J. Wayne, a government professor at Georgetown University. If a president is in power during hard times, his relative likability won’t matter so much as his overall job performance. But every president gets judged to a greater or lesser degree according to his personality. Perhaps no president would be doing well in the polls with unemployment near double digits throughout his term. But Obama’s inability to connect on an emotional level with many people has been an additional drag on his approval ratings. Oh yes. It’s the President’s cerebral nonchalance that’s making connection so difficult. How about this idea: Michelle and Barack Obama just don’t care. When an entitled person feels perpetually ripped off, they tend to feel less empathy for those they perceive as ripping them off. So, that lack of empathy; that attitude of being put-upon? That’s genuine no matter how the lib press wants to  rationalize  it away. Stories like these, from  the Politico  help nothing: The White House is fighting back against claims its offshore drilling moratorium will cause dramatic job loses along the Gulf Coast with a new report that says most jobs aren’t gone forever. Only 8,000 to 12,000 jobs will be lost along the Gulf Coast , and most will return once deepwater drilling resumes, says the report to be presented to a Senate panel Thursday. That’s right. ONLY 12,000 families will face the desperation of a lost livelihood and face the stress and strain of keeping their homes during this economic crisis. ONLY. Do the Obamas not grasp the gravity of the economic situation in America today? Do they not grasp their enormous educational, cultural and social privilege long before they ever lucked into the presidency? Or, are they so brainwashed by their own imagined persecution complex that they simply cannot see their remarkable lives for what they are: lucky and fortunate. Michelle Obama is not burdened. The woman doesn’t know from burden. And Barack Obama is not mis-perceived by the American people. They are seeing his cold nature for what it is: hard hearted. No amount of fawning press can obscure what is becoming more obvious. UPDATED: Michelle Obama’s office denies Carla Bruni’s revelation .

Boy Scouts Boo Obama! Freedom of Expression? Definately… Disrespectful? Maybe…But with the Effervescence of Amusement

Rather than attend the Boy Scout Jamboree, marking the organization’s 100th anniversary, President Obama broke with tradition and opted for an appearance on ABC’s The View, as well as to serve as the headline attraction at several Democratic fundraisers. Obama, instead, sent a taped video message to the Scouts, which was not well received. In a Rick Santelli moment, one person can be heard yelling at Obama’s image: “I hope you're watching this!” Read my previous article on Obama’s historic snub to the Boy Scouts: http://www.examiner.com/x-21818-Virginia-Beach-Conservative-Examiner~y2010m7d28-… Watch the video below as the snubbed Scouts let Obama know how they feel… http://www.examiner.com/x-21818-Virginia-Beach-Conservative-Examiner~y2010m8d8-W… added by: congoboy

Spain Trip: Todd Senses ‘Something More’ Happening Behind Scenes With Michelle O

“Uncomfortable” was the word of the day at Morning Joe when it came to discussing Michelle Obama’s decision to go on a luxurious Spanish vacation in the midst of a recession—and to miss celebrating her husband’s birthday with him to boot. Chuck Todd didn’t go into details, but NBC’s clearly ill-at-ease political director suggested: that this was a “private decision” by the First Lady; that it wouldn’t have made any difference what Pres. Obama’s political advisors would have said; and that “you get the sense here that there was something more to this” than pure politics. Joe Scarborough reinforced Todd’s message: ” this is part of a bigger narrative, isn’t it, about Michelle Obama? ” In contrast, Mark Halperin seemed eager to get off the touchy topic.  When Scarborough asked him about it, Halperin parried with a question to Todd about the positive cards the White House has to play. This NewsBuster is in no position to speculate as to what that “bigger narrative” might be, or what that “something more” is.  But surely a story worth following . . . Note: Joe cited yesterday’s column by Maureen Dowd, which in the course of criticizing Mrs. Obama pointed out that the president’s birthday wasn’t the first important occasion the First Lady missed: When the BP oil spill stained the White House, making the president seem so impotent that he had to make his first national address from the Oval Office, the first lady was playing with her mother and daughters in Los Angeles, staying at the Beverly Wilshire. She was taking in a Lakers game the night of his address. When the BP oil spill stained the White House, making the president seem so impotent that he had to make his first national address from the Oval Office, the first lady was playing with her mother and daughters in Los Angeles, staying at the Beverly Wilshire. She was taking in a Lakers game the night of his address.  Note Dos: Morning Joe introduced the segment with a Late Night clip of Jimmy Fallon quipping that in light of Michelle’s Spanish extravagance, her new Secret Service code name is “Kanye.” Ouch. Note Tres: In my item about Pres. Obama’s appearance on The View, I noted that the prez had taken a gratuitous swipe at the First Lady, claiming she wasn’t interested in news shows. Note Quatro:  I understand that the First Couple has to deal with scheduling pressures far outside the normal realm.  Even so, as I observed to a friend yesterday: odds my mother would have gone on a vacation without my late father and missed his birthday = precisely 0 in 1,000 trillion.
