Bomani Jones “Caucasians” T-Shirt Sparks Controversy At ESPN This morning we woke up to a glorious sight. ESPN’s Bomani Jones went on live television wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with “Caucasians” in the theme of the Cleveland Indians. For years now Jones has been on TV and radio advocating for the elimination of of racially insensitive team names in sports. The Washington Redskins, The Cleveland Indians, The Chicago Blackhawks and several other franchises still use the likeness of Native Americans to promote their business, and vigorously. The shirt is mocking the Cleveland Indians logo — which many people find offensive. The shirt also flips the script by replacing the image of Chief Wahoo with a blonde white guy with the dollar symbol poking out from the back of his head. Sources tell us, “ESPN freaked out” and asked Jones to cover up his shirt. We’re told midway through the show, BJ slightly compromised and partially zipped up the front of his hoodie … hiding part of the image. As you might imagine, white people are on FIRE! LL Cool Received A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame In Los Angeles It’s been a long time coming for Uncle L “Future Of The Funk” (it’s like A Tribe Called Quest, you say the whole thing). Via CBS Rapper and actor LL Cool J received the 2,571st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, honoring a pioneering recording career that made him the first rap artist to amass 10 consecutive platinum-plus selling albums. Queen Latifah and Sean “Diddy” Combs joined the “NCIS: Los Angeles” star at the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the Hard Rock Café on Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony comes a week after his birthday and slightly more than three weeks before he hosts the Grammys for the fifth consecutive year. Joining the ranks of such icons as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Michael Jackson, the actor and rapper said the honor was a big deal for him. “I’m grateful, this is pretty big for me,” he said. So sad… New Orleans Toddler Killed By Grandmother’s Gun The grandson of a 45-year-old security guard is dead after his grandmother’s gun accidentally went off. NOLA.com reports: A 42-year-old grandmother has been arrested in the shooting death of her 3-year-old grandson, killed early Wednesday (Jan. 20) inside her eastern New Orleans home. Investigators think Deonca Kennedy was sleeping in a bed with the toddler when a gun beneath her pillow discharged, striking the boy in the chest, the Police Department said. Police received a call at 2:12 a.m. about the shooting in the 5600 block of Red Maple Drive. The boy was taken to the hospital, where he later died, police said. Kennedy, who works as a security guard, was booked with negligent homicide, second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and child desertion. The grandmother was the only one home at the time of the shooting, police said. She did not give a statement to police or cooperate with investigators, they said So many questions here; why was the gun under the pillow? Was the child trying to rest sleep when it went off?
