This doesn’t make any type of sense. Man Reported Himself To The FBI And They Did Nothing According to Mail Online A teenager who allegedly kidnapped a woman and held her as a sex slave for more than two weeks called an FBI agent daily to tell him he was involved in sex trafficking, it has emerged. Brandon Todd, 19, called Special Agent Barry Crouch numerous times while holding his victim captive, telling the man that he had recently ‘recruited’ a woman, the affidavit states. It is not clear what action – if any – the FBI took after receiving the phone calls. Calls to the FBI from MailOnline were not returned and the agency declined to comment to ABC beyond the affidavit. The woman, who had been kidnapped from California and forced to travel to Todd’s home in Naples, New York, only escaped when she faked an asthma attack and went to hospital. After her escape, she traveled to Florida with her boyfriend and Todd called the FBI agent again, identifying the woman and saying he wanted help in tracking her down as he had feelings for her. The bizarre scenario was outlined in an affidavit filed in a federal court on July 9 by Agent Crouch. Todd was arrested on July 10 and charged with kidnapping across state lines, which has a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The involvement of two states could go some way to explain how agents did not know the woman was missing. Todd met the woman on a bus from Florida to San Diego, where she was traveling to see her mother and look for a job. Todd sat next to her and would not leave her alone, the documents state. Nude Bed and Breakfast: Just Don’t Park Your Car on the Street!

There are some people out there who rather spend their time without the constraints of clothing. Far be it for me to deny them that opportunity.  However, there are plenty of people down in Florida (why is it always Florida?) that are none too happy about the nude bed and breakfast they have as neighbors. Technically it is a “naked hangout club” according to the home’s owners Terry Engels and Chip Malinowski and they offer the rooms for $99 a night. Their neighbors are rather incensed by this, claiming that “as many as 280 to even over 300 cars” had been parked at the residence over a month’s span. I’m imagining Mrs. Kravitz standing out in the street with a counter. That’s not really what steams their broccoli though, oh no. It’s the sounds they hear of people apparently having sex in the backyard that has prompted the neighbors to suggest that the homeowner, who does not have a permit to run a bed and breakfast, needs to be arrested. $99 a night seems pretty reasonable. Go out, get the permit, and then gather up a few pairs of Google glasses  and these guys could have a booming business!

According to ESPN Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is holding what authorities say appears to be a gun in several surveillance photos that were released Thursday and had been recorded shortly after his friend was shot to death. The photos taken from Hernandez’s home surveillance system are contained in more than 100 pages of court records released by Attleboro District Court. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez’s home. Lloyd was shot five times. The pictures show Hernandez in his basement holding a gun shortly after Lloyd was killed, an affidavit released Thursday says. The surveillance was cut off within minutes. Other photos show what authorities say is Hernandez in his living room, a few hours before Lloyd’s killing, also holding what they believe is a gun. Police say Lloyd was killed with a .45 caliber gun, but it has not been recovered. The previously sealed documents were released after several media organizations, including The Associated Press, filed motions seeking access and Judge Daniel O’Shea agreed Wednesday that they are public records. Defense attorneys have objected to the unsealing of the records, saying it is “systematically undermining” Hernandez’s right to a fair trial. The affidavit in support of the arrest warrant for Aaron Hernandez was unsealed Thursday. These documents contain explicit language. PDF Also Wednesday, O’Shea sided with prosecutors who asked to delay a probable cause hearing for Hernandez to give them more time to present evidence in the murder case to a grand jury. That hearing was rescheduled for Aug. 22. Hernandez will continue to be held without bail until then. Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd’s killing because he was upset at him for talking to people Hernandez had problems with at a nightclub a few days earlier. They say Hernandez and two associates, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz, drove with Lloyd to the North Attleborough industrial park. Authorities have not said who fired the shots, but documents filed in Florida portray the former Patriot as the triggerman. According to the records, Ortiz told police that Wallace said Hernandez fired the shots. The Patriots released Hernandez within hours of his arrest. What happened to filling out an application? . Man Sets Fire To Become A Firefighter According to The NY Daily News He just wanted to be a hero. But Joseph Michael Brannen’s plan to become a firefighter spectacularly backfired — after he was busted for allegedly setting a blaze and then trying to help put it out. Fire crews were called to East Hernando Branch Library in Brooksville, Florida, on July 6. On arrival they found the 18-year-old decked out in firefighter gear and ready for action. But with the flames soaring into the sky, they told the untrained wannabe to stay away from the area as it was too dangerous. After putting out the fire, which caused more than $500,000 worth of damage, they then started to suspect Brannen was behind the whole incident. The Sun-Sentinel reports that, during questioning, he confessed to the crime. He thought that by helping out, in gear that he bought on eBay, it would guarantee him a job in the service. Cops charged him with second-degree arson and he is currently being held at the Hernando County Jail on $3,000 bond. Melissa Mazelin, who lives close to the library, branded Brannen as “very stupid.” Meanwhile Kevin Carroll, Assistant Fire Chief for the Hernando County Fire Dept., said the fake fighter’s equipment, including his air tank, was probably out of date. “We’re not sure what he had in this bottle, if anything at all,” Carroll told BayNews9.com. “And if he had actually connected to it and there was not air in there, he could actually suffocate.” Everybody wants to be a hero in today’s attention-slorin’ world. Bill O’Reilly Blames Black Unwed Mothers For Violent Crimes According to Raw Story During a Monday night rant on the conservative Fox News Channel, Republican opinion host Bill O’Reilly personally diagnosed the black community’s problems, lecturing that violent crime rate is due to “personal” choices made by single black mothers and insisting that more parental discipline and increasingly harsh penalties for drug crimes would be his preferred response. In explaining all of this, O’Reilly used the recent acquittal of Florida neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman from the killing of 17-year-old African-American Tryavon Martin to attack the work of civil rights advocates who’ve pointed out in recent months that the drug war has caused a major racial disparity in arrest statistics, even when whites are statistically more likely to possess controlled substances. “It was wrong for Zimmerman to confront Martin based on his appearance,” O’Reilly said. “But the culture that we have in this country does lead to criminal profiling because young black American men are so often involved in crime.” “When was the last time you saw a public service ad telling young black girls to avoid becoming pregnant?” he asked. “Has President Obama done such an ad? How about [Jessie] Jackson or [Al] Sharpton? Has the Congressional Black Caucus demanded an ad like that? How about the PC pundits who work for NBC News?” “White people don’t force black people to have babies out of wedlock,” O’Reilly concluded. “That’s a personal decision. A decision that has devastated millions of children and led to disaster, both socially and economically.” He didn’t mention that one of President Obama’s signature policy accomplishments, health reform, includes a rule that requires universal, free access to birth control for men and women — a policy change actually proven to reduce the teen pregnancy rate, as opposed to conservatives’ preference for abstinence-based educational programs. O’Reilly also failed to note that violent crime went down 8.7 percent across the nation between 2009 and 2011, according to FBI statistics. Trayvon Martin Linked to Hate Crime Victims in Controversial N.Y. Daily News Cover

Less than 48 hours after the controversial George Zimmerman verdict , the N.Y. Daily News ran a powerful front page about the victim, Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was found not guilty on Saturday in the killing of Martin, a decision by a Florida jury that set off a wave of protests around the country. The Daily News explicitly linked Martin, the slain teen, to martyrs of the civil rights movement ( Emmett Till ), and black victims of hate crimes (James Byrd, Jr.): For the last 17 months, the case has been a lightning rod for gun debates, legal disputes, and perhaps most notably, racial tension across the U.S. Clearly, the Daily News is prepared to stoke those flames. The newspaper’s cover plays on Martin’s hoodie, which became a symbol of his (alleged) racial profiling in the aftermath of his February 2012 slaying. Zimmerman claimed, conversely, that he did not profile Martin – his brother Robert Zimmerman Jr. said race was not a factor in the case – that night. Instead, he cited media bias against the accused, who claimed self-defense, and urged that people respect the jury’s verdict before rushing to judgment. What do you think: Did the jury get it right?
