Sarah Palin-Glen Rice Love Tryst Alleged in New Book

A new tell-all book about former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin claims she had a one-night stand with former NBA star Glen Rice way back in 1987. Is that true? Does it matter? The answer to both is highly debatable. Is this the greatest rumor of all time? To that, we might have to answer yes. At the time, she was single and working at a TV station as a sports reporter; Rice was a college basketball star visiting Alaska for a tournament. Glen Rice scored 18,336 career points and won a title with the ’00 Lakers. If he scored with Sarah Palin, he wins the title of Most Randomly Hysterical One-Night Stand . Factual or not, Palin’s alleged romantic encounter with Rice – some three years younger and then a junior in college – is causing serious, hilarious buzz. Neither could not be reached for comment about the sexy fling, although Rice is said to have confirmed it to author Joe McGinniss. So … yeah. The hookup is said to have occurred after the ’87 Great Alaska Shootout. Glen was playing for the University of Michigan then. Palin apparently covered the event, only to be covered by Rice’s naked body shortly thereafter. Mere months later, in 1988, Palin eloped with high school sweetheart Todd Palin. The two are still married and have five children with strange names. SIDE NOTE: Wonder how Bristol Palin and Kyle Massey feel about this. In addition to the Rice rumor, Joe McGinniss’ highly-anticipated book implies that Palin committed adultery with Brad Hanson , Todd’s business partner. It also says Sarah and Todd both snorted cocaine off an overturned 55-gallon oil drum during a snowmobile trip before she was governor. Awesome.

Casey Anthony Fined Nearly $100K For Lies Resulting in Caylee Search

A judge just ordered Casey Anthony to pay more than $97,000 in costs associated with investigating her daughter’s disappearance back in 2008 – costs that could have been avoided or mitigated were it not for her lies. Judge Belvin Perry issued the ruling today , and while significant, it represents less than one-fifth of the amount that prosecutors sought. Casey Anthony has been ordered to pay the following: $61,505.12 to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement $10,0283.90 to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation $25,837.96 to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office $50 to the State Attorney’s Office. The costs – $97,676.98 to be precise – were incurred while officials searched for Caylee Marie Anthony, between July 15 and September 29, 2008. Prosecutors sought more than $500,000 in costs from Anthony, who was acquitted of murder but nailed for four counts of lying to law enforcement. Perry’s order requires Anthony to pay costs associated only with counts of which she was convicted, so she’s off the hook in the high-five figures. Not that $97K is chump change, or that this particular chump won’t have issues coming up with it. A judge already declared her indigent in 2010. Maybe Dr. Phil can help with another donation. You know he’d be game if she agreed to sit down for an all-time ratings grab. Wheels are turning …

Jay-Z Jumps On J. Cole’s ‘Mr. Nice Watch’

Jay and J. Cole finally collaborate for Cole World: The Sideline Story, due September 27. By Rob Markman J. Cole and Jay-Z Photo: Getty Images It may not have come as he planned, but J. Cole finally got a feature from Jay-Z on his debut album. Despite being signed to Hov’s Roc Nation, there was no guarantee that the CEO would lend his voice to Cole World: The Sideline Story. Cole recorded the yet-unreleased “God’s Gift” in hopes that Jigga would ride shotgun on it. Instead, it’s the slick-talking “Mr. Nice Watch” that will bear Jay’s bars when Cole’s album drops September 27. It’s fitting that Jay would appear on the futuristic-sounding track, considering its hook borrows from his own “A Million and One Questions.” On the 1997 underground classic, a still-on-the-come-up Jigga raps in third person, “Uggh, nice watch, do you really have a spot?/ Like you said in ‘Friend or Foe’ and if so, what block?” And with that inspiration, Cole builds his single, which leaked online Wednesday (September 14). “No more Mr. Nice Guy, hello Mr. Nice Watch,” the North Carolina lyricist raps as he moves from struggling underground artist to major-label breakout. On the self-produced track, Cole World provides a bouncy dubstep backdrop, perfect for stunting. Hov doesn’t disappoint either, rapping cryptically, using Florida Gators great Tim Tebow to metaphorically illustrate his affinity for his own wrist wear. “Got a Hublot, I call Tebow, I strap that bitch with a gator band/ Y’all n—as ball half time, y’all n—as like the Gator band.” This isn’t the first time Cole has appeared alongside Jay on a track. In 2009, the upstart made his presence felt on Hov’s “A Star Is Born” from the mogul’s The Blueprint III album. But during his appearance on “RapFix Live” back in February, Cole told Sway the high standards that he holds for a Jay collaboration. “They been asking me this for a while because I said he was like one of the only rap features I wanted, but it’s about the song. It’s a lot of pressure on that song. I feel like that’s my hardest song to make, is the one I want Jay for. My standards are so high.” During an August listening session in New York City, Cole played the entire album , and at that point, Jay had not yet appeared on it. Cole played both “God’s Gift,” on which he left an open space for Hova’s verse, and “Mr. Nice Watch.” “Nobody owes me anything,” he told the journalists who gathered that night. “Jay-Z doesn’t owe me a verse because I signed to him.” Well, Jay gave him one and it couldn’t have come at a better time. LMFAO Call David Guetta A ‘Party Starter’

French DJ, who just dropped Nothing but the Beat, is the ‘happiest person you’ll ever meet,’ SkyBlu tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena LMFAO at the 2011 VMAs Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images LOS ANGELES — David Guetta’s just-dropped new album, Nothing but the Beat, features a handful of A-list contributors, including Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, will.i.am, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Akon and Usher. It’s Guetta’s latest entry into the world of mainstream music, and it seems that everyone in pop is scrambling to work with him. When MTV News caught up with dance duo LMFAO, who worked with the French house-music DJ on the 2010 track “Gettin’ Over You” (also featuring Fergie and Chris Willis), they revealed the real reason why everyone in the business wants to hop in the studio with Guetta. “Well, he is a party starter; great DJ, great personality,” RedFoo told MTV News last week before the 2011 Video Music Awards . “He shares his software with you. [He’s like] ‘Here’s the whole bundle, enjoy.’ I don’t think we’re supposed to talk about that … but he would.” RedFoo’s party partner, SkyBlu, said Guetta is such a pleasure to work with because he’s an easygoing guy. “[He’s the] happiest person you’ve ever met. He’ll put a smile on your face no matter how bad your day’s going. [If] you’re gonna hang out with David, you’re gonna have a smile on your face.” While they didn’t share whether they had any plans to work with Guetta again, the guys did reveal that they shot the video for their next single, “Sexy and I Know It,” in L.A. earlier this week. The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards have wrapped, but the real action is just getting started! Flo Rida Samples Etta James On ‘Good Feeling’

‘It’s legendary,’ Flo tells MTV News of his brand-new single. By Rob Markman Flo Rida Photo: David Livingston/ Getty Images Soul singers are making a comeback in 2011. First Jay-Z and Kanye resurrected Otis Redding on their single “Otis,” and now Flo Rida reworks some classic Etta James vocals for his new single “Good Feeling.” And like his past #1 hits, including 2007’s “Low” and ’09’s “Right Round,” Flo is expecting to top the charts once again. “It’s legendary, we got Etta James featured on there, so it’s crazy,” he told MTV News from the 2011 VMA black carpet on Sunday. “Produced by Dr. Luke; you know we always with those #1 records. I’m very excited.” The song, which was released to iTunes on Monday, starts out with a dance-infused drum pattern, complete with electric bleeps that echo throughout the intro. After the eighth bar, Etta James’ vocals are ushered in: “Ohhh, sometimes I get a good feeling.” The sample is lifted from James’ 1962 “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” and has been updated for a 2011 electro-feel. After the chorus, Flo comes in, rapping in double-time about his success in the music game. And the Carol City, Florida, MC has much to celebrate. Later this year, he’ll release his fourth solo LP, Only One Rida (Part 2), the follow-up to his 2010 album, which included the hit singles “Club Can’t Handle Me” and “Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1).” Now he can add a song with Etta James — or at least an Etta James sample — to his list of musical moments. “You know, it just gotta be a blessing from God to make that happen,” Flo Rida said. “We got that cleared and I’m very excited.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards have wrapped, but the real action is just getting started!
