The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Review: Simply Stunning

Technically and stylistically, David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo should thrill fans of the Stieg Larsson book trilogy and newcomers alike. Simply put, the director’s dark vision and aesthetic brilliance make for a movie marvel. Casting, of course, plays a huge role in the film’s success, especially when the subject has already been tackled successfully by Swedish filmmakers with Noomi Rapace as the lead. In the U.S. version, Rooney Mara is scary good as Lisbeth Salander. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Trailer (Extended) Mara’s bravado is explosive and the actress deserves serious consideration for an Academy Award nomination. Throughout The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , it is difficult to take one’s eyes off of Mara, no matter how much takes place around her. Daniel Craig is also outstanding as the co-protagonist, a journalist recently disgraced for libel. Movie Review: Ryan Gosling in the Driver’s Seat

You could sum up Drive in four words: Ryan Gosling owns it. Although he says next to nothing in the first 20 minutes of the film, opening this weekend, Gosling’s impact is immense – the true hallmark of an A-list star. Gosling plays Driver, a movie stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver for anyone who will hire him, with intensity that makes this a must-see. With a great lead, cinematography and supporting roles (you can include L.A. itself in that category), Drive is so much more more than meets the eye. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Review: A Triumphant End to an Epic Saga

It’s safe to say that few films are greeted with the simultaneous feelings of elation and dread that surround Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 . For 10 years, Harry, Ron, Hermione & Co. have touched millions of lives, maturing and gaining confidence as they transitioned from misfits to heroes. In a sense, their journey has mirrored that of Harry Potter ‘s fan base, for whom this is more than a film. Harry is a best friend, part of the fabric of life. Sadly, as we celebrate its greatness, we must also let that friend go at last. Our sister site, Movie Fanatic, was one of the first to see the final chapter. Despite almost unprecedented hype, it met our expectations and then some. Follow the link for Movie Fanatic’s official Harry Potter review !

Interview: Billy Burke Speaks on Breaking Dawn, Red Riding Hood

While filming Breaking Dawn in Vancouver, Billy Burke recently spoke to Reel Movie News about the end of Twilight and his other upcoming film, Red Riding Hood . The actor who plays the father of Kristen Stewart’s Bella discussed the two films’ parallels, working with his young, famous co-stars and more. Here are some excerpts from Burke’s chat with RMN: On his Red Riding Hood role: It’s slightly, pardon the metaphor, off the path of the fairytale. I play Red Riding Hood ‘s drunken, misguided father. It was one of the most beautiful sets I’ve ever been on. I kind of look like the drunken jolly green giant. On working with Catherine Hardwicke on both films: When she called me and pitched me the idea, I was all in. She created the Twilight world and she did an amazing job with that. I figured if anyone could make a picture like this, it would be her. On comparisons to Twilight: There is a love triangle. There’s a young girl and two gentlemen vying for her attention. That’s probably the biggest comparison. On Charlie and Bella’s post-wedding scene: I do have a scene with Kristen Stewart directly after the wedding, before they take off for the honeymoon. Sick Little Spoiled Bitches Abuse Dementia Patients for FUN

They weren't the swarthy perverts you'd expect them to be. They were the pretty girls, six high school friends from the farming hub of Albert Lea, Minnesota, who'd all found jobs at the Good Samaritan nursing home caring for patients with dementia… While nursing home work can be a painful experience in witnessing the final throes of life, the six girls were bored with the job. So they decided to liven it up by sexually abusing the patients. Brianna Broitzman admitted to police that she poked one patient in the breast. But her friends say she also spit in a resident's mouth, jabbed the boobs of other patients, and stuck her bare butt in a patient's face. Ashton Larson confessed that she'd stuck her finger up a patient's rectum. She would also get in bed with them and make humping motions, pat them on the butt and taunt them into getting angry by laughing at them. When the abuse first surfaced in 2008, the girls admitted they taunted and abused the residents in an attempt to make their work “fun.” All told, they're believed to have abused 15 patients. But the cops didn't think abusing people with dementia was fun; they merely thought it made you a sick little fuck. So the girls were hit with a slew of charges, ranging from assault to abuse of a vulnerable adult with sexual contact. Broitzman has taken an Alford plea, which basically means she admits she'd get drilled in court, but doesn't want to confess to being a degenerate. She'll be sentenced in October, but is expected to get less than a year in prison. Larson heads to trial next month. http://www.truecrimereport.com/2010/08/brianna_broitzman_ashton_larso.php added by: vixxxen618
