Pop Star Pink Is The New Face Of Cover Girl After taking some time off the scene to enjoy mommy hood with her 1-year-old daughter Willow and spend time with her on-again boo thang Carey Hart, singer Pink is back like she never left as the newest spokesmodel for CoverGirl. When you think of CoverGirl, your mind doesn’t automatically shift to duct tape pasties, subversive pop-rock music and neon bouffant hair. So, if you’re like us, you’ll have to rewire your brain to adjust to the makeup brand’s latest campaign face announced today: Pink. The singer follows in the footsteps of former CoverGirl models Taylor Swift, Drew Barrymore, Queen Latifah, Sofia Vergara and Ellen Degeneres — not exactly what we imagine is Pink’s kind of crowd. CoverGirl normally opts for the all-American, sweet-as-apple-pie appeal in its ads, so we’re pretty excited that the brand mixed things up this time. Pink’s campaign will be billed as “beauty with an edge,” so we’re pretty sure she wont be too overwhelmed with pastel colors and angelic photo filters. We think she fits in quite well. Congrats. The Muppets 2 Will Be a Comedy Caper, Says Nick Stoller

Nick Stoller took a moment while promoting his Five-Year Engagement to fuel speculation about the forthcoming (and Jason Segel -less) Muppets sequel, which he says Disney rather unrealistically wanted to release next summer. “It is a comedy caper,” he spilled to Collider . This sounds familiar — next stop Manhattan, Treasure Island and then, perhaps… space? “I think it’s similar to the first one in that the first one certainly had dramatic connections to the first Muppet movie, but it was a whole new thing, hopefully,” Stoller told Collider. “This is the same thing. We love The Great Muppet Caper and we love Muppets Take Manhattan and whatnot. So this has some elements of that, but it’s different because it’s in the tone of what James and I like to do.” Grain of salt: Stoller and co-writer/ Muppets director James Bobin are only 13 pages into their Muppets sequel, so, you know. If they don’t even know yet if there’s room for a Segel cameo, it’s hard to say now how the final product will turn out. That said, the Muppets sure knew how to throw a fun caper and the idea of the rebooted Muppets franchise following in the footsteps of the classic Muppets films falls in step with the spirit of reinvention and homage that made 2011’s a hit . Kate Upton’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover, which was leaked yesterday and goes on sale today, is pretty close to a dream come true for guys. And for the 19-year-old model herself. The Floridaian follows in the footsteps of bikini-baring bombshells Irina Shayk, Brooklyn Decker, Bar Refaeli and Marissa Miller as SI swimsuit cover girl. She’s modeled for Victoria’s Secret and posed for racy Guess? ads when she was the face of the clothing line, but nothing in her life compares to this: After Kate Upton’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover was unveiled, she told People , “This means so much for me personally. This has always been my dream.” Upton says the cover image was among the first ones taken by legendary photographer Walter Iooss, Jr., during the photo shoot in Sydney, Australia. “In the beginning you’re pretty relaxed, you’re not thinking of new poses and it just feels really natural at that point,” she says. “At Sports Illustrated everyone’s so nice. No more “running” for Carl Lewis A federal appeals panel took nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis off a New Jersey state Senate ballot yesterday, finding he does not meet the state’s four-year residency requirement after all. The ruling came nine days after the same three-judge panel from the 3rd US Circuit Court of Appeals said Lewis should be on the ballot. The issue, which turned out more complex than it seemed, was whether Lewis would satisfy a requirement that state senators live in the state four years before they take office. Lewis, 50, grew up in Willingboro, NJ, went to college in Texas and settled in California. In 1984, he won four gold medals in track and field at the Olympic in LA. He would add five more Olympic golds over the next 12 years. He bought homes in New Jersey in 2005 and 2007 and began working as a volunteer track coach at Willingboro HS. But he continued to pay taxes in California. Lewis and supporters blast what the say was a politically motivated move. In 1984, he won four gold medals in track and field at the Olympic in LA. He would add five more Olympic golds over the next 12 years. He bought homes in New Jersey in 2005 and 2007 and began working as a volunteer track coach at Willingboro HS. But he continued to pay taxes in California. Lewis and supporters blast what the say was a politically motivated move. Don’t let them sweep you under the rug Carl!
