Ho Sit Down: Crazy Eyes Michele Bachmann Says Obama Is ‘Too Wealthy’ To Relate To Americans [Video]

This ho is crazy. Don’t believe the hype America…although we’re sure the majority of Republicans will since they think this chick spits gold. Michele Bachmann said President Barack Obama can’t relate to “the common man” because of his extreme wealth, failing to note that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is worth hundreds of millions more. “President Obama is extremely wealthy,” Bachmann said when USA Today asked how someone with “vast wealth” could connect to the American public. “He and his wife have been wealthy for a number of years, and so I think that’s really the issue. President Obama is wealthy–what does he understand about the common man right now?” According to financial disclosure reports released by the White House in May, the Obama’s hold assets worth between nearly $2.6 million and nearly $8.3 million. Romney’s net worth is up to $255 million, according to financial disclosure reports. Simple math right? Source Images via WENN/Youtube

For Discussion: Woman Not Allowed On Airplane For Having “Too Much Cleavage”…Is This Fair??

All we can do is “SMH” at this lady’s ‘fit… Airlines give many reasons for refusing to let you board, but none stir as much debate as this: How you’re dressed. A woman flying from Las Vegas on Southwest this spring says she was confronted by an airline employee for showing too much cleavage. In another recent case, an American Airlines pilot lectured a passenger because her T-shirt bore a four-letter expletive. She was allowed to keep flying after draping a shawl over the shirt. Both women told their stories to sympathetic bloggers, and the debate over what you can wear in the air went viral. It’s not always clear what’s appropriate. Airlines don’t publish dress codes. There are no rules that spell out the highest hemline or the lowest neckline allowed. That can leave passengers guessing how far to push fashion boundaries. Every once in a while the airline says: Not that far. “It’s like any service business. If you run a family restaurant and somebody is swearing, you kindly ask them to leave,” says Kenneth Quinn, an aviation lawyer and former chief counsel at the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. In short, since airlines and their planes are private property and not a public space like the courthouse steps, crews can tell you what to wear. In the early years of jet travel, passengers dressed up and confrontations over clothing were unimaginable. They’re still rare — there aren’t any precise numbers — but when showdowns happen, they gain more attention as aggrieved passengers complain on the Internet about airline clothing cops. It’s unwelcome publicity for airlines, which already rate near the bottom of all industries when it comes to customer satisfaction. Critics complain that airlines enforce clothing standards inconsistently. The lack of clear rules leaves decisions to the judgment of individual airline employees. Clashes over clothing and other flash points seem to be increasing, says Alexander Anolik, a travel-law attorney in Tiburon, Calif. He blames an unhappy mix of airline employees who feel underpaid and unloved, and passengers who are stressed out and angry over extra fees on everything from checking a bag to scoring an aisle seat. Anolik says that passengers should obey requests from airline employees. If passengers don’t, they could be accused of interfering with a flight crew — a federal crime. He says passengers should wait until they’re off the plane to file complaints with the airline, the U.S. Department of Transportation or in small-claims court. “They have this omnipotent power,” Anolik says of flight crews. “You shouldn’t argue your case while you’re on the airplane. You’re in a no-win scenario — you will be arrested.” Thoughts on this?? Source

Ciara’s ‘Sorry’ Single: Album Artwork Appears But Still No Song

There was a lot of hype that fizzled fast on August 20th. Ciara’s new single , ‘Sorry’, was set to drop…and we’re still waiting to hear it. The artist and her management haven’t made any announcements on the where’s or why’s of it all, but she was nice enough to subliminally apologize on Instagram the other day. She could’ve made it clear that she was releasing the song’s cover on 8/20 and not the song…but what fun would that have been? She’s got everyone’s attention now. Whatever the reason for the delay, ‘Sorry’ better be damn good at this point. Images via Twitter Continue reading

For Discussion: Should Weezy Throw Out An Apology For Dissin’ New York?

New York Senator Malcom Smith isn’t too cool with Lil Wayne right now. He’s called Weezy out and is asking fellow New Yorker Nicki Minaj to step in and encourage Wayne to apologize. The offending comment, via MTV, was brief: “Flat out: I don’t like New York,” Wayne said Monday when he was asked how performing with Minaj in the city went last week. Smith responded swiftly, issuing a statement slamming Wayne and praising New York as “the birthplace of the Hip Hop music movement.” Smith, who recently helped promote an anti-gun initiative in the city, also slammed Wayne’s 2007 gun possession arrest, which resulted in the rapper serving eight months on Rikers Island. At a Times Square press conference Wednesday, Smith’s crusade continued. He railed against Wayne for making money in New York while bashing it and alleged the rapper’s comments had also insulted the likes of Frank Sinatra and Jay-Z, because both men had “made endearing” songs about the city. Charles Fisher of the Hip Hop Summit Youth Council also expressed concern that Wayne’s comments could spark a rap war, Politicker reported. “Sixteen years ago, Tupac Shakur was murdered, and Biggie Smalls came right after that….We can’t afford to have a war between New York and the South. Lil Wayne is out of Atlanta, grew up in New Orleans,” Fisher said. “It is my hope and I believe and I want to believe that he had a lapse in mental judgement for some strange reason and I hope that he will think about it,” Smith said. “New Yorkers are forgiving people. We’re prepared to forgive Lil Wayne if, in fact, he makes a sincere apology.” Let us know what you think. Does Smith have a point or is he a little sensitive? Source Images via Twitter/WENN

What Would You Do? One Woman Shares Her Story Of Pregnancy After Being Raped

Seems Todd Akin’s comment had a huge impact on women brave enough to come out and tell their stories. Women everywhere, one after the other, have been taking their tragedies to the media in a heroic effort. Shauna R. Prewitt wrote about her experience and how, years later, she’s raising her daughter who was the product of a viscous act so many of us struggle to tell. While a student in my final year of college, at age 21, I was raped. I have dissected that moment — the horrifying moment that I became a “victim” — from every possible angle. I have poked and prodded, examined and re-examined. Regrettably, I have even suspected myself in a desperate, ultimately futile attempt to understand how I became a victim….People who did not even know me were quick to comment or speculate on my rape. What were you wearing? Did you scream loudly? Did this occur in public? Eight years after my rape, I find myself on trial against ignorance again. Rep. Todd Akin’s recent comments that “legitimate rape” rarely results in pregnancy not only flout scientific fact but, for me, cut deeper. Akin has de-legitimized my rape. You see, nine months after my rape, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. You could say she was conceived in rape; she was. But she is also so much more than her beginnings. I blissfully believed that after I finally had decided to give birth to and to raise my daughter, life would be all roses and endless days at the playground. I was wrong again. It would not be long before I would learn firsthand that in the vast majority of states — 31 — men who father through rape are able to assert the same custody and visitation rights to their children that other fathers enjoy . When no law prohibits a rapist from exercising these rights, a woman may feel forced to bargain away her legal rights to a criminal trial in exchange for the rapist dropping the bid to have access to her child. For the sake of her child, the woman will sacrifice her need to see her once immensely powerful perpetrator humbled by the court. I know it because I lived it. I went to law school to learn how to stop it. Having fought this injustice for the past several years, I have come to believe that ignorance is to blame for this legal absence. Opponents argue no woman would ever choose to raise the child she conceived through rape. The only two studies to analyze the choices made by pregnant raped women indicate otherwise — at least 30% of women who conceive by rape make this choice. Others argue that no rapist would ever seek parental rights. Not only does my experience and that of others I know prove otherwise, but it is not surprising that a man who cruelly degrades a woman would also seek to torture her in an even more agonizing way, by seeking access to her child. Today, it seems we may face a new and unbelievable challenge: convincing legislators that women can conceive when they are raped. Our heart goes out to every Woman out there who’s ever felt that indescribable fear and struggles because she was violated. Make sure you Vote this year so we can keep Congress and Fat Cat Politicos out of our Crocthes! Source Images via Shutterstock

National Urban League Slams Nike For Encouraging Lil Boyzs In The Hood To Ball Out On $315 ‘Lebron X’ Sneakers!

National Urban League Furious Over Nike Release Of Expensive Sneakers The National Urban League is speaking out against Nike and their upcoming release of the most expensive shoe in Nike history at a whopping $315. Nike’s basketball ads in the 1980s and early 90s featuring Michael Jordan and Spike Lee’s alter ego Mars Blackmon popularized the famous line “Money, it’s gotta be the shoes!” Fast forward to 2012 – Nike is still selling sneakers and charging big-time money for them. This fall, the sneaker giant is expected to unveil its ‘LeBron X’ sneaker and if you want to wear them, it will cost a cool $315 according to the Wall Street Journal. The National Urban League wants no part of it. The civil rights organization has slammed Nike for charging so much for the shoe and is encouraging parents not to spend their money on an “empty status symbol.” The group’s president Marc Morial has asked Nike to scrap its plans to release the show altogether: “I ask Nike – and the parents whose children are targeted in this misdirected campaign – to join us in our efforts to empower young people to value their own talents – athletic and otherwise – above material tokens and work together for broader access to the economic mainstream.” The urban league released a statement earlier today, where Morial describes the LeBron James sneaker as representing “twisted priorities and confused values.” Earlier in the statement, Morial says: “To release such an outrageously overpriced product while the nation is struggling to overcome an unemployment crisis is insensitive at best.” According to the Wall Street Journal, this version of the ‘LeBron X’ sneaker includes its own electronics and will be the most expensive shoe in Nike history. Would you buy these for your child or let them spend their hard earned money to purchase them? Source
