Source: Kelvin Murray / Getty Florida Man Charged With Armed Robbery After Sticking Up Restaurant With A Finger Gun According to Panama City News Herald , a Gainesville native was arrested and charged with armed robbery after sticking up a local restaurant using a finger gun. Steven Michael Berlin, 56, reportedly entered Szechuan Palace and sat down at the establishment for about 30 minutes before approaching an employee at the counter and demanded money from the cashier. That’s when Berlin allegedly brandished his finger gun, reportedly scaring the cashier and causing her to hand over the cash. Berlin reportedly fled the restaurant but was found later with $577. He confessed to his crime to authorities and was charged with armed robbery because the employee believed he had an actual gun, and conducted himself as if he was using a firearm.

Source: Jesse Grant / Getty Judge Grants Tisha Campbell Martin Temporary Restraining Order After Ex-Husband Duane Martin After Domestic Abuse Claims According to TMZ , Tisha Campbell-Martin claims her estranged husband (Duane Martin) has been abusive for years and that he flew into a violent rage just last month. The sitcom star filed for a restraining order against Duane, alleging he once “punched her in the chest with a closed fist”. She also says in December, Duane “grabbed me by my arm to try to get me in the bedroom.” She reportedly filed a police report in January about the multiple alleged physical altercations. Duane allegedly started physically, emotionally and mentally abusing Tisha as early as the beginning their marriage in 1996 and that he berated her about her weight and inability to land roles because of her bigger size. “I can no longer live in fear of retaliation … the need to press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.” she claims. A judge granted her a temporary restraining order that requires Duane to stay at least 100 yards away from her as they iron out the particulars of their divorce.

Source: bortonia / Getty Durham, NC Minister And Activist Proposes Black Community Self Segregate For BHM Here’s an interesting proposition — for 28 days — the entire month of February , one activist is suggesting that the black community turn our focus on supporting black owned businesses and educating black youth about black history and culture. “We need to build a wall around Black culture,” Paul Scott a Durham NC minister and activist, said via a release sent to BOSSIP. Scott believes that Black people were better off socially, politically and economically better off during the era of segregation. Scott, who gained national recognition for his comments in a 2018 NY Times article about gentrification whitening Durham , NC also argues that black history has been whitewashed to make white Americans more comfortable. He also believes that the Black movement for social equality has been hijacked by other groups. “Everyone has benefited from our tears and pain except us,” says Scott. Do you agree or disagree? Source: The Washington Post / Getty Trump Fires All Undocumented Workers From Golf Club According to the Washington Post , Trump reportedly fired a large group Latin American workers at Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, N.Y. because they are undocumented immigrants. On Jan. 18 employees were allegedly “brought in one-by-one to speak with a human resources representative and were fired from their jobs.” These people were described as being “longtime members of the golf club’s staff, having won employee of the month awards and having a set of keys to Eric Trump’s vacation home.” Trump reportedly kept that same energy in regards to his feelings on immigrant works, and go rid of employees that working for him for 10+ years. Gabriel Sedano, one of the employees who was fired, had been working at the club since 2005. “I told them they needed to consider us. I had worked almost 15 years for them in this club, and I’d given the best of myself to this job,” he continued. “I’d never done anything wrong, only work and work. They said they didn’t have any comments to make.” During the series of terminations, employees were informed that the company had audited their immigration paperwork, documentation they had provided years earlier. After it was discovered that their paperwork was falsified, the representative said, “Unfortunately, this means the club must end its employment relationship with you today.”
