(Photo by David Livingston/Getty Images) Gloria Govan Calls On Derek Fisher To Testify Against Matt Barnes In Court Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan are still at each others necks in court and now Gloria is reportedly calling on her fiancé, Derek Fisher, to testify on her behalf in court. According to The Blast , Gloria thinks that Derek can help her case against her ex-husband as he can speak on behalf of “all of the issues” the exes have gone through. Derek was present for the “August 31st school pick up” that escalated and led to Gloria being arrested for child endangerment. During the altercation Gloria allegedly went to pick up her kids at school where Matt was on the scene to remind her it was his day to have them. The kids reportedly got into his car and Gloria blocked their car in leading to Matt calling 911. This isn’t the first time Gloria used Derek for court drama. She also named him in her defamation lawsuit against Matt and Derek provided text messages between him and the ex NBA player. Both parties are scheduled to appear court at the end of the month.

On Saturday, October 6, 100 Metro Atlanta teenage girls attended My Future Credit summit, hosted by re:imagine/ATL and presented in partnership with the SPANX by Sara Blakely Foundation, from 9am to 4pm. The morning opened with SPANX founder, Sara Blakely sharing her journey with the young attendees. Throughout the day, over 30 professional women, from VML, Floyd County Productions, Bossip, Turner Classic Movies, 902HipHop, Atlantic Records, Invest Atlanta, and other independent filmmakers and musicians shared their career knowledge and expertise. The summit’s mission was to inspire young women to visualize their name “roll” in the credits and offered high school girls a chance to explore different career options, receive useful guidance and advice, and interact with successful professional women. This event is exposed students to career paths in TV, film, music, and digital media. As Georgia continues to attract a record number of productions. Georgia also has one of the most extensive music industry resource networks in the country, is a prime filming location, and has been voted the number one state for doing business. With all of these resources, the city is primed to build a thriving entertainment workforce pipeline. For the past four years, re:imagine/ATL has increasingly supported Metro Atlanta’s growing film and digital media industry, ultimately supporting the state’s economy by working with high school students in the community exposing them to digital storytelling tools and careers. With the Centennial population (those born post-1995) set to outpace both Millennial and Baby Boomer populations in Georgia by 2020, properly preparing them to join the workforce and become a larger part of the digital world is critical.

You’ll recall Serena nearly died after giving birth to her adorable daughter, Alexis Olympia . In an article written for CNN back in February, she revealed: “First my C-section wound popped open due to the intense coughing I endured as a result of the embolism. I returned to surgery, where the doctors found a large hematoma, a swelling of clotted blood, in my abdomen. And then I returned to the operating room for a procedure that prevents clots from traveling to my lungs.” At the time, Serena also spoke about Black moms-to-be not getting proper care: “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, black women in the United States are over three times more likely to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related causes. But this is not just a challenge in the United States. Around the world, thousands of women struggle to give birth in the poorest countries. When they have complications like mine, there are often no drugs, health facilities or doctors to save them. If they don’t want to give birth at home, they have to travel great distances at the height of pregnancy.” Now, according to The Philly Voice , she told some 10,000 women on Friday: “I did some research and I was alarmed that our black mothers are not being taken care of. It’s in this country that is supposed to be so technologically advanced. Why are we treating out mothers like this?” Adding, “It’s really unacceptable…I feel like if I can help save lives—that’s one of the best things that you can do.” Source: Gilbert Carrasquillo / WireImage / Getty In the process of gushing about how supportive her husband, Alexis Ohanian , has been, Serena also told the crowd she has some insecurities: “I always have these insecurities that I’m not good enough as a mom.
