According to AllHipHop reports : Hollywood’s most sought after celebrity trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, has secured her very own show on BET. The nationally syndicated show is currently in pre-production, and will feature Jenkins whipping everyday people into shape and giving them a complete makeover from top to bottom. “You’re going to see the whole transformation in one show,” Jeanette Jenkins said during her visit to the AllHipHop offices. “Ordinary people out there are going to have an opportunity to train with the Hollywood trainer and will get the opportunity to get treated like stars.” Known as the “Hollywood Trainer” because of her work with numerous A-list celebrities, including Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, Kimora Lee Simmons, Serena Williams, Queen Latifah, Kelly Rowland, Paula Patton, Robin Thicke, Terrence J, and many others, Jenkins plans to incorporate her celebrity clients into her new show. “I’m going to have a few celebrity drop-ins every once in a while, but this show is really about the people. Showing them how they can change their lives with just what they have in their own homes and in their own environment,” said Jenkins. Jenkins has teamed up with Akil productions, the same team that is responsible for creating popular shows, “The Game” and “Girlfriends”. Several contestants for the show will be chosen via Jenkins’ Twitter page (@jeanettejenkins).* The untitled show is currently in pre-production and will be coming to BET soon. Study Claims Single People Hit Harder By Unemployment Than Married Couples A recent research study conducted by a Johns Hopkins economist has found that single people have taken a harder hit in regards to the steady rise in unemployment in recent years. According to a paper presented recently at a major macroeconomics conference by Johns Hopkins economist Robert Moffitt, the rising unemployment that characterized the Great Recession actually started much earlier, in the year 2000. Until then, women’s employment in particular had been steadily rising — but after about 2000 it began to level out, and single women’s employment began a marked decline. Between 1999 and 2007, Moffitt writes, married women’s employment fell by about 0.3%, while the figure for single women dropped by 2.9%, or almost ten times as much (unmarried men also lost more jobs than married ones, but the difference was far smaller). Moffitt isn’t sure what caused the drop — he writes that some of the decline in employment among men between 1999 and 2007 can be explained by known factors like changes in non-labor income (from sources like Social Security), but these factors don’t explain the drop among single women at all. He closes his report with a call for further study. Regardless of causes, though, the effects of unemployment on unmarried women can be severe. They’re more likely to live in poverty, and they don’t have a spouse’s health insurance to rely on if they lose theirs. The fact that they’ve been disproportionately hard-hit for over a decade challenges the currently-popular argument that women are on the way to economic dominance. And it suggests that politicians whose focus of late has been trained on wives and mothers should consider the problems faced by women who are neither. But don’t expect to see much more of the busty banger or the caliente cakes that got her the title, cause she says she’s looking to do “other things.” The results are in. Last month, XXL asked its readers to vote for the hottest eye candy to be featured in the publication in the past 15 years. The ballot was narrowed down to previous Eye Candy of the Year winners such as Angel Lola Luv, Esther Baxter, Gloria Velez and Buffie the Body. In the end, Dominican beauty Rosa Acosta edged out the competition. She appears in a special spread to celebrate XXL‘s 15th anniversary in the September issue.
