Source: MARK RALSTON / Getty Walmart Ends Handgun And Rifle Ammunition Sales The folks at Walmart are about to set the red neck community OFF according to a story to a CNN report. The biggest retail chain in America has announced that they will no longer sell handgun and “short-barrel rifle ammunition” like the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber that are both used in assault weapons. Additionally, Walmart will no longer allow customers to openly carry their weapons inside their stores. “It’s clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable,” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in a memo to employees on Tuesday. The company still plans to sell long barrel deer rifles and shotgun as well as the ammunition for those guns. McMillion said that the latest policy is a direct result of the mass shootings in El Paso, Dayton, Midland and Odessa. “We feel like we are striking a responsible balance between the interests of law-abiding citizens who are exercising their legal rights and the safety concerns of our associates and customers,” he said. We’ll see, but we have a feeling that Republicans and NRA nuts are NOT gonna be happy. That said, we’re glad that Walmart had the balls to take a stand. Sad that the United States government can’t seem to take one…

It’s a simple saying that could seriously save your life, but maybe even more importantly, it can save someone else. Four Atlanta area hotels ended up ignoring this age-old advice and now, they’re facing federal charges for it. According to the AJC.com, these aforementioned hotels include a Red Roof Inn near SunTrust Park, a La Quinta Inn near North Point Mall, Hometown Studios–previously operating as a Suburban Extended Stay–on Peachtree Industrial Court in Chamblee, and Extended Stay America on Hammond Drive near Sandy Springs. Up to 20 men a day visited hotel rooms for short periods of time (which is a pretty obvious indicator of sex trafficking) and some women were forced to stay at the hotels for weeks at a time, according to four trafficking survivors. The federal investigation revealed these hotels knew about the sex trafficking going on in their facilities and not only turned the other cheek, but profited heavily from the illegal activity. Employees were paid to keep quiet and act as lookouts in case police arrived or other hotel guests were suspicious, the lawsuits state. The Red Roof Inn even had a sign that reportedly reads “No Refund After 15 mins”. “There is no legitimate reason for the Smyrna Red Roof Inn to have such a policy,” the four lawsuits state. “The policy exists so that commercial sex acts cannot be accomplished quickly at the Smyrna Red Roof Inn without also paying for a room…” Hopefully, these businesses are held accountable for their role in sex trafficking and no one else has to experience such trauma just because a hotel wants to make a quick $40. The plaintiffs are seeking trials by jury and unspecified punitive damages.

Source: D’USSE / D’usse Kevin Hart Injured In Car Crash Kevin Hart is alive but injured after his car careened off a highway in Malibu Hills. TMZ reports that the comedian was one of three passengers inside his Plymouth Barracuda when it crashed just before 1 AM Sunday on the Mulholland Highway. Crash scene video shows that the car smashed through wooden fencing along the roadside and the roof was completely crushed by the impact. Kevin was reportedly not driving at the time of the accident and cops told TMZ that Kevin and the driver both suffered “major back injuries.” The third person in the vehicle was a woman who did not require hospital treatment. Li Xi Wang’s family has filed a claim for damages against the police department after they saw he was unlawfully killed by authorities. CNN reports that the 49-year-old was shot dead July 3 while police served a search warrant in connection to an investigation of an illegal drug cultivation and trafficking operation. His family alleges that Wang, a Chinese immigrant who worked as a contractor and at a restaurant, did not speak any English and couldn’t have understood police demands and police “never established any form of effective communication” with anyone in the house. Authorities say they seized nearly 1,500 marijuana plants, $35,000 in cash and found evidence of grand theft in excess of $105,000, but no weapons. “He’s a single father, helping his son, he has an aging mom in China, and he did everything he can as a father, as a son, to take care of the family,” attorney Daniel Deng said in a news conference Wednesday according to CNN. He also pointed out that Wang took a job to cultivate marijuana after it was legalized. “He’s not a drug dealer, he’s not a smuggler. He’s just a simple worker trying to make a living by taking care of marijuana,” Deng said. Marijuana growers cannot possess and cultivate more than six living cannabis plants according to California law. Still despite that, shouldn’t police have much more important things to do than “marijuana raids”??? No word yet on how much Li Xi Wang’s family is suing for.

Source: Jordan Lye / Getty Woman Is Suing After Having To Deliver Her Own Baby In A Jail Cell According to CBS Denver , a woman who gave birth alone in her jail cell is suing after deputies and nurses reportedly ignored her cries for help during her five hours of labor. Surveillance video shows Diana Sanchez lying down on her cell bed, crying out in pain before she pulls off her pants and delivers a baby. In a federal lawsuit, Sanchez states that she first alerted jail staff that she was experiencing contractions at 5:00 a.m. The lawsuit also says that Sanchez spoke with Denver deputies and Denver Health nurses over eight times that morning, informing them every time that she was experiencing contractions. Three hours later Sanchez’s water broke, at which point she again attempted to alert staff. An absorbent pad is slid under her door for her to put on her bed about 45 minutes before she gave birth. After she gives birth, a nurse walks in and picks up the baby. The federal lawsuit says that jail officials “cruelly chose convenience over compassion” by not calling for an ambulance after Sanchez’s water broke and she was bleeding.
