But now, the California rapper has now found himself in some legal trouble. According to reports from TMZ , the rapper is being sued for using lyrics from another song in his 2018 track “Swap Meet” without proper clearing the record. The lawsuit in question was filed by a rapper by the name of Pretty Maw. She is claiming that Tyga ripped lyrics from her song “17th” without proper compensation, despite saying he would pay “a fixed monetary amount” in addition to royalties from “Swap Meet.” The official video for T-Raww’s track has accumulated over 7 million views on YouTube since its release back in September. The debut video from the lesser-known New Orleans artist for “17th” has yet to eclipse 14,000, but Pretty Maw can actually be seen at the end of the “Swap Meet” video performing a section of her song. Despite her appearance in Tyga’s video, she is not even officially featured on the track. This is far from the first time money has been a problem for Tyga. Back in July, he allegedly owed $157,000 for abandoning a leased vehicle . A few months before that in March, he was sued for failing to pay his $40,000 a month rent for a Beverly Hills mansion he was renting. Source: David Livingston / Getty Salim Akil Thinks Alleged Mistress’ Lawsuit Is Too Little, Too Late Salim Akil has finally responded to a lawsuit that alleged he abused and stole a script from a former mistress, Amber Dixon Brenner . According to The Blast , the producer/director is demanding his alleged mistress’ lawsuit accusing him of domestic violence be dismissed. In court documents, Akil claims the statute of limitations on Amber Brenner’s claims has passed. He also says Brenner is barred from bringing claims against him due to her own “negligent, intentional or bad faith conduct.” Additionally, Akil is demanding her lawsuit be thrown out and she be made to pay his attorney fees. Yikes! Amber Dixon Brenner initially filed a lawsuit against Akil on November 20th, 2018 that detailed explicit sexual abuse she allegedly endured from him for over a period of TEN YEARS. She also claimed in the lawsuit that she shared a script with him, which he shopped around on her behalf. After months of failed communication, Akil’s show “Love Is____” was picked up by OWN, bearing similarities. Brenner is suing for compensatory damages, emotional distress, attorney fees, and punitive damages. The amount she is asking for is not disclosed in her complaint. Thoughts?

The service that was founded 6 years ago has acquired over 130 partnerships with TV networks, media networks, and major film studios allowing Pluto to be able to host more than 100 streamable TV channels in all genres of entertainment. Pluto TV is also compatible with almost every device with streaming capabilities, including Andriod and iOS devices, for a standard monthly rate. “Today marks an important step forward in Viacom’s evolution, as we work to move both our company and the industry forward,” Bob Bakish Viacom President and CEO said. “Pluto TV’s unique and market-leading product, combined with Viacom’s brands, content, advanced advertising capabilities and global scale, creates a great opportunity for consumers, partners and Viacom.” Pluto TV is added to the list of startups that the legendary rapper has invested in. If you recall, the Queensbridge MC invested in Ring (the smart doorbell security system) that was acquired by Amazon; a move that netted him a cool $40 million.

Jasmine Edmond reportedly exchanged more than 200 text messages with the student and had told the principal of the high school that the student was trying to blackmail her, according to legal documents. An email from Trezevant’s principal states the school was aware of the 239 texts with the student threatening to expose the relationship unless Edmond gave him money. “You Said We Had A Bet & If You Lie Our Little Secret Going To Be Out There,” the message read. “That’s Not A Threat It’s A Promise.” When Edmonds presumably didn’t respond, the teen sent the following message, “Then You Not Trying To Answer Or Text Back I Got Proof of Everything So 140 Tomorrow Or Your Career Over On My Grandma.” Records reveal the 16-year-old was allegedly expelled from Trezevant High School in early 2018 for throwing rocks at her car. Edmonds had been a guest at the teen’s family’s Thanksgiving as the boy’s mother knew Edmonds “did not have family nearby”, but the mother of the student claimed that she “didn’t have any knowledge” of her son and Edmonds’ relationship. Edmond was indicted by a grand jury in November 2018. Memphis Police are expected to charge her in January with sexual contact with a minor.

The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star first went up against 50 Cent, and now, she’s lost again after a judge dismissed her entire case and threw out all of the claims against her ex-boyfriend. According to court documents obtained by The Blast , a Los Angeles judge ordered that because Mari failed to appear for a scheduled hearing in the case earlier this month, that the court determined she has ultimately “failed to prosecute her case.” The judge also noted that 50 Cent was already dismissed, but now Mari’s ex-boyfriend is too. Akbar Abdul-Ahad, who Teairra claimed conspired with the rapper to leak a sexually graphic video of her, is now completely free from the battle and the case has been closed.As was first reported, Teairra Mari sued 50 Cent and her ex-boyfriend accusing them of engaging in a plan to sexually objectify, threaten, intimidate, humiliate, and degrade her. She also claimed that Abdul-Ahad logged into her Instagram account and posted a sexually graphic video of her without her permission. Mari said that her ex-boyfriend was upset because he was allegedly trying to develop a polyamorous relationship, along with a reality show highlighting that lifestyle–but she wanted no parts. Teairra went on to say that after she removed the video and photo that Abdul-Ahad had posted, 50 Cent went on to post the same material on his own page. He captioned the photo “get the strap,” which the reality star claims was a possible reference that encouraged his fans to harm her. 50 Cent denied all the allegations and said by the time he reposted the image, it was already all over the internet in other places. He demanded her lawsuit be thrown out of court, arguing that the photo didn’t even show any genitals or a sexual acts. The rapper was recently dismissed from the case completely and the judge awarded him attorney fees in the amount of $30,618. Though there’s no word on payment toward her ex, Mari’s entire case has now been closed.
