Brooke Mueller has been denied by a judge in her attempt to secure a restraining order against ex-husband Charlie Sheen for threatening her last week. The troubled Mueller filed the request for a temporary restraining order against the equally mercurial Sheen following his epic anti-Brooke tirade last week. Charlie Sheen Denied Access to Kids With Brooke Mueller According to Charlie, Brooke is an evil whore who’s putting their twins’ lives in danger, and pretty much the worst parent and human being to ever live. Sheen said he would seek custody of sons Bob and Max, but according Mueller, took this way too far. In her petition, Brooke quotes Charlie saying: “[T]here will be a reckoning. There will be a whirlwind. That they will all reap while desperate begging for my forgiveness. You’ve all been warned.” “I will exercise every resource at my disposal. I will, I will, I will, I will empty my entire war chest and if I cannot get it done, I know a guy who can.” Mueller wanted a restraining order based on that perceived threat, but apparently a judge felt it was just Charlie being Charlie and that she isn’t in danger. Still, she insists she’s staying sober, while Charlie is on a mission to sabotage her, though. Brooke says she’s even scared Charlie will plant drugs on her. The judge wasn’t buying it … at least not yet. A hearing is set for next month for Brooke, who currently still has custody of Bob and Max despite her substance abuse issues, to make her case. Meanwhile, Sheen was denied in his initial efforts to wrest his children away from Mueller … and has shown no signs of slowing down in that mission.

Trayvon Martin’s parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, spoke out this morning for the first time about last weekend’s George Zimmerman verdict . Tracy Martin told Today ‘s Matt Lauer: Trayvon Martin Parents Interview “We felt in our hearts that we were going to get a conviction. We thought that the killer of our unarmed child was going to be convicted of the crime that he committed.” Added Fulton, “I think (the legal system) failed Trayvon to a certain degree. I think we let the process take its course. We didn’t get the verdict that we were looking for.” “Our focus has continued to change. First it was for the arrest, then it was for a conviction. So now we’ve moved on to a different focus, but yes, I think we were disappointed.” Martin then added, “I just didn’t understand how can you let the killer of an unarmed child go free. What would your verdict have been had it been your child?” “There’s no winners in this case. It’s just I want them to put themselves in our shoes.” Fulton noted that the verdict sends “a terrible message to other little black and brown boys that you can’t walk fast, you can’t walk slow, so what do they do?” “How do you get home without people knowing or either assuming that you’re doing something wrong? Trayvon wasn’t doing anything wrong.” As for whether or not Trayvon’s parents can ever forgive Zimmerman, Martin simply said, “I think that the forgiveness is like a healing process.” “Forgiveness takes time. The Bible says that you have to forgive and forget, but the healing process is a long process and the forgiving process is a long process.” What do you think of the Zimmerman verdict? Did the jury get it right? Yes. The jury got it right. No. They blew it. View Poll »

To paraphrase Clemenza from The Godfather : Move the picture. Keep the scene. Deadline Hollywood reported that Warner Bros. has decided to push the release date of Gangster Squad to January 11, 2013. The schedule shuffle took place as a result of the tragic mass shooting at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo. As you’re probably well aware by now, there’s a pivotal scene in the Ruben Fleischer-directed movie in which mobsters burst through a movie screen to spray a crowd of movie goers with machine-gun fire. Warner, which is part of a public company, is understandably postponing the release date to avoid appearing insensitive to the Colorado tragedy, especially given the eerie similarity between the Gangster Squad scene and what happened in Aurora. It’s a smart move, and now that the studio is putting some distance between Aurora and Gangster Squad , I think it should give serious consideration to leaving the theater scene intact. (As Deadline reported, plans are to substitute another murder spree that takes place in a different setting.) As others have pointed out, Fleischman’s movie was completed before the shooting in Aurora took place. (The studio was already reportedly screening the film.) Admittedly, it’s a sensitive and unfortunate situation. &mdash ; but it’s a situation that should be solved with the passage of time, not the alteration of a filmmaker’s work. Consider the point made by one Movieline reader when I wrote on Tuesday that the movie’s release would probably be delayed until next year. In the comments section, the reader, who goes by the handle “Elkabong,” noted that “Around 300 Americans were killed in automobiles last month,” adding: “I assume that Warner is going to cut out any future scenes which involve people driving cars.” A Warner spokeswoman confirmed that Gangster Squad would not be released on Sept. 7 but said that no new date had been set. In the wake of the Kristen Stewart cheating bomb that dropped today , at least one PR pro thinks Stewart’s subsequent apology stinks of forced reparations . Meanwhile, gossip maven Lainey Lui zeroes in on the repercussions of the Twilight star issuing such a perplexingly earnest-sounding mea culpa after years of fiercely protecting her private life from outside eyes: “Kristen Stewart has been neutered. She’s officially owned now. She belongs to them. And she belongs to us.” Continued, from Lainey Gossip : “You don’t want to answer questions about your private life? But you just gave me every reason to ask about your private life because you told ME how sorry you are, sobbing through your words, that you may have ruined your love. One day you’re diving into the dumpster avoiding photographers when I want to see a picture of you holding hands with your boyfriend, the next day you’re begging me to understand that you made a bad judgement call, essentially pleading for my forgiveness. Who turns down power when it’s presented to them? Certainly not me. Certainly not us.” Lainey’s been covering the Twilight beat within the larger celebrity world for years now, and she’s always come across as one of the realest-talking gossip fixtures in the biz. Here she nails Stewart’s PR predicament precisely on its head: In a nutshell, one of Hollywood’s most hounded celebrities has uncharacteristically and without prompting pulled back the curtains on her private life — and how — and judging by how her People exclusive apology reads it seems like she was thinking about as strategically as a plaintive, emotional teenager, not the megastar who just months ago swore she didn’t care about those who “want to turn truth into shit.” What’s fascinating here to celeb-watchers is that Stewart felt she needed to apologize publicly at all after becoming quite adept at protecting her private life. Then again, that kind of 24-7 privacy-guarding would be exhausting for anyone. But if anyone demanded an apology, it wasn’t necessarily the fans, though it likely helped stem the tide of vicarious betrayal many have vocalized. So why do it?
