I’m not saying why but the reason behind it is self-loathing. Wouldn’t it be better if I was not there?” I’ve always been pretty self-destructive. I need protection from myself,” Love said, adding that she has decided to stop using her stage name. ” Courtney Love is dead ,” she said. “We’ve all decided we don’t like her any more. We love her on stage, but I don’t need her in my life.” The number 5150 comes to mind. Whatever surname she goes by, Courtney is insane. Asked how she would prefer to be addressed in the future, she replied: “Courtney Michelle. The name Courtney Love is a way to oppress me.” The 45-year-old singer, born Courtney Michelle Harrison, is back on the road with her band, Hole, which is releasing a new album this month.
