Adventures in April Fool’s Day PR: Oscilloscope Acquires Woody Allen Classic

Oscilloscope Laboratories has never done things especially by the book, so its April 1 announcement that it had acquired Woody Allen’s 1971 comedy Frederick Gertten’s activist documentary Bananas!* is suitably nuts on the only day they can really get away with it. To wit: The press release after the jump, complete with comment from O-Scope founder Adam Yauch, an ambivalent Gertten and the one and only Wood Man himself. Sort of.

‘Drunk History’ to debut on HBO’s ‘Funny or Die Presents’

“Drunk History” is a brilliant web series where intoxicated people talk about historical events. It will appear tonight as part of HBO's “Funny Or Die Presents…” Though this isn't the first time the series has been mentioned on television. Stefan Frederick Cook Objects To Obama Birth Certificate

US Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook and lawyer Orly Taitz filed a request last week in federal court asking that Cook be given status as a conscientious objector.
