But even this singer could not resist taking a dig at Miley Cyrus following that artist’s ridiculous routine at the MTV Video Music Awards last night, taking to Twitter and hilarious writing: “Just saw a couple performances from the VMA’s last night. 2 words…. #pitchystrippers.” Granted, Clarkson did not name Miley by name – but did any other performer prance around with a fake penis while Twerking and wearing nude-colored underwear? The Cyrus performance – both her own version of “We Can’t Stop” and her raunchy duet with Robin Thicke on “Blurred Lines” – is making waves across the World Wide Web. But for the right reasons? Kelly Clarkson may have been joking around in her critique of the MTV Video Music Awards as including too many pitchy strippers , but The Parents Television Council does not see this as a laughing matter. In a scathing rebuke of the network and the event, the PTC released a statement today that focused on a rating that somehow claimed the show was appropriate for kids as young as 14. “MTV has once again succeeded in marketing sexually charged messages to young children using former child stars and condom commercials – while falsely rating this program as appropriate for kids as young as 14. This is unacceptable,” wrote PTC Director of Public Policy Dan Isett. “This much is absolutely clear: MTV marketed adults-only material to children while falsely manipulating the content rating to make parents think the content was safe for their children.” As you might expect, the main subjects of the PTC’s outage were Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga . Continued the press release: “MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate ‘ twerking ’ in a nude-colored bikini. How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds? How is it appropriate for children to watch Lady Gaga strip down to a bikini in the opening act? How is it appropriate for 14-year-olds to see a condom commercial and a promo for an R-rated movie during the first commercial break?” The statement goes on to say MTV should not get away with such acts merely because it is a cable network – and it includes a call to action. “We urge Congress to pass the Television Consumer Freedom Act which will give parents and consumers a real solution for future MTV VMA programs – the ability to choose and pay for cable networks that they want vs. having to pay for networks they don’t want. After MTV’s display last night, it’s time to give control back to consumers.” The PTC has previously come down on MTV for such programs as Jersey Shore, 16 and Pregnant, and Teen Mom.
There were a gluttonous amount of new movies opening this weekend and as the dust clears this morning, it’s The Butler that comes out on top with an impressive $25 million. That really isn’t all that surprising given T he Butler reviews , so the real news comes after the #1 spot. Amazingly enough, We’re The Millers comes in at number two with $17.7 million beating out last week’s box office winner Elysium . Kick-Ass 2 came in a distant fourth with $13.5 million and Ashton Kutcher’s Jobs that had so much buzz going into the weekend, managed to only bring in $6.7 million. Dog the Bounty Hunter, or Duane Chapman, is reportedly going after Edward Snowden … even if that means illegally trying to capture him in Russia. “Sometimes you gotta bend the rules to save America,” Dog is quoted as saying. “And if I can catch this traitor Snowden and bring him back to God’s side, then it will be well worth the risk of a lifetime of hard labor in a Siberian gulag.” Sure thing. Dog is apparently not alone in his dogged pursuit. Reports say several bounty hunters are willing to risk their freedom to capture and return the “fugitive” NSA whistleblower , who sought asylum in Russia. None more high profile than Chapman, however. According to reports, he stated, “Every Dog has it’s day, but Snowden, your days are numbered. Me and Beth are gonna catch you and bring ya to justice.” “We’re gonna do it the American way. If you’re listening right now slick Eddy, the Dog’s comin’ for ya. You can run, but you can’t hide.” “The Dog has picked up your trail.” Dog and his wife Beth Chapman are said to be headed to Hong Kong first in an effort to sniff out possible clues in Snowden’s old hotel room there. This story may or may not be fake , as its sources are questionable and it has already sparked several denials … but even so, it’s a hilarious concept.
Long shrouded in mystery and the subject of endless fascination for conspiracy theorists, Area 51 has been officially acknowledged by the CIA. Newly-released documents say the site is real, but suggest the area served a far less remarkable purpose than many had supposed … or hoped. Area 51, about 125 miles northwest of Las Vegas, is synonymous in popular culture with government secrecy. Many believe it holds the answer to the age-old question: Are we really alone in the universe? Spoiler alert: That is still unclear. The documents, which include a map of the location , show Area 51 was a testing site for the government’s U-2 and OXCART aerial surveillance programs. The long-secret U-2 program conducted surveillance around the world, including over the Soviet Union during the Cold War over a period of decades. No mention of alien autopsy rooms or spaceship parking lots are mentioned in the declassified reports, likely to the dismay of those seeking alien intel. For these true believers, the existence of alien spacecraft in or around Area 51, and the government’s attempts to cover up their trace, is irrefutable. This has been the case ever since reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) began to emerge from the Nevada desert in the mid-20th Century. The documents were released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request by Jeffrey T. Richelson, a senior fellow at the National Security Archives. He requested the information in 2005, as part of his study of aerial surveillance programs … although the location of Area 51 was not a well-kept secret. In fact, the map that was released in the CIA documents more or les mirrors the one that appears after a simple Google Maps search for “Area 51.” It is more or less known that it exists in a section of rural Nevada with few access points and heavy security … very, very far from anything and anyone. Still, Richelson told CNN he believes this could signal a dramatic change in the government’s willingness to declassify information about the famed base. The doctors are not letting this danger to society out. Amanda Bynes Loses Bid For Freedom They need to hold her azz for as long as they can….no one wants to see her burn her dog alive. According to TMZ Amanda Bynes was just shut down in her bid to leave the psychiatric hospital where she has been held against her will for more than a week … TMZ has learned. Amanda appeared before a judge in the psych ward, as her lawyer argued there was no legal basis to hold her for the two additional weeks … sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ. We broke the story … Amanda was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold 10 days ago after starting a fire in the driveway of a home near L.A. The hold lasted 3 days, and then doctors stepped in and got a judge to extend the hold for 2 additional weeks so they could properly diagnose her. Our sources say Amanda’s lawyer argued at today’s hearing the actress was capable of caring for herself and she was not a danger to others. As we reported, Amanda is actually doing a lot better since doctors have started giving her a cocktail of meds. We’re told there are clear signs Amanda is schizophrenic. In the end the judge agreed with the doctors, that Amanda needed to stay in the hospital because her mental situation is still precarious. Amanda does not acknowledge she has a mental illness, and doctors believe there’s more than a good chance she would not take the meds that have stabilized her if she’s out on her own. All those voices she heard should have told her not to wear those horrible blonde wigs anymore.

Jack Osbourne has started a petition urging Rolling Stone to donate all of its profits from the new issue featuring a Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover story. The magazine ignited national outcry when it unveiled its August cover, humanizing the man allegedly behind the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Seeing Dzhokhar Tsarnaev a la Jim Morrison or Bob Dylan on the cover sparked more than a few boycott efforts , but Jack came up with an alternative. His petition on Change.org encourages Rolling Stone to donate all profits , retail and ad-based, from the current edition’s sale to the bombing victims. “Glamorizing a suspected terrorist on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine is not controversial, it’s just wrong,” the son of Ozzy and Sharon writes. “Innocent people have been killed or injured by his alleged actions. There is no justification for awarding him a cover traditionally reserved for entertainment icons.” “It is this kind of action that encourages other sick individuals to act out in hopes of earning notoriety or martyrdom for their cause,” Jack adds. Osbourne points out that his petition is not in response to the cover story, which explores in detail how Tsarnaev went wrong, but the cover itself. “We support the first amendment and the freedom of the press, but we do not support glorifying suspected terrorists in this manner,” he insisted. “The innocent victims, their families, the first responders, and the people of Boston are the ones who deserve to be honored and remembered.” The petition has quickly generated more than 25,000 signatures of support, but whether the pop culture publication considers the idea is far from certain.

The Philadelphia Eagles QB got together with Rep. John Lewis from Georgia to push Team Freedom Outreach — a charity that recruits volunteers to play sports with children who are incarcerated. Vick says he’s passionate about TFO because, “Many of these children who are incarcerated receive no visitors.” He adds, “Team Freedom Outreach gives them positive mentorship. It shows these kids that somebody cares. It helps them make a plan.” Second chances — something Vick knows all about. America has finally forgiven Mike Vick.
