Jaden Smith’s last film (2013’s After Earth) was one of the great flops of the 21st Century and his debut album (the obnoxiously titled, This is The Album) wasn’t even a blip on the music industry’s radar, but the 17-year-old son of Will and Jada remains in the public consciousness thanks to a never-ending social media-fueled assault of contrived weirdness. It’s for that reason that as much as we’d like to give him credit for using fashion to express his views on the obsolete nature of gender roles, we can’t help but see his new habit of wearing dresses in public as anything other than the latest in a long line of pretentious stunts. The Internet is currently losing it’s mind over Jaden’s choice of attire, and we imagine that’s exactly what he wanted. Bizarrely, this is not the first time Jaden’s clothes have had the gossip blogs buzzing in 2015. Back in February, Will Smith claimed that Jaden owns only one pair of shoes and five shirts , and social media exploded with photographic proof that the Fresh Prince is full of sh-t. In a recent interview with Billboard, Jaden described his approach to fashion thusly: “Einstein didn’t really like to change clothes because he had too much other stuff to worry about and I’m the same,” he said. “All black is pretty much my go-to look. If somebody is just wearing something for the blogs, that’s really sad because they’re not living for themselves.” We guess he had a change of heart. The pair who seem virtually inseparable are are not officially living together, but they are having sleepovers at Tyga’s sprawling estate that Kylie has complete access to anytime she wants and calls her, “emergency mansion.” “She comes and goes as she pleases,” a source close to the rapper reveals EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “She has a key to his place and all the security codes needed to get in and out. “She and Tyga call it her ‘emergency mansion,’” the source says. Adding that it’s her go to place “in case something is going on at Kris‘ [Jenner] or Bruce‘s [Jenner] house.” It appears Kylie’s carving out her own territory in the mansion as well. We’re told she does not sleep in the same bed as Tyga. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fans and cast members are mourning the loss of James Avery, the actor who played Uncle Phil on the beloved sitcom. James Avery died Tuesday night from complications following open-heart surgery, which he underwent in November, at a hospital in Glendale, Calif. James Avery – Uncle Phil Hug on The Fresh Prince Avery has hundreds of credits to his name, including Fletch, Rambo, Dallas, Night Court, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles , and more recently, Grey’s Anatomy . Of course, he will be best remembered as Will Smith’s uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air for six seasons and 148 episodes in the 1990s. His co-stars took to social media to express their sadness. Alfonso Ribeiro, Avery’s son on show, wrote: “I’m deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly.” Tatyana Ali, who played the late actor’s daughter, added: “James was my teacher my protector & the most magnificent actor. We’re feeling his loss very deeply. He’ll always be apart of me #JamesAvery.” James Avery on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Daphne Reid, who played his on-screen wife Vivian, told BBC Radio 5 live: “He was such a good friend of mine… larger than life. An avid reader, avid questioner, avid thinker.” “He was just a brilliant man.” Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, wrote a message on Facebook Wednesday sending her condolences to the Avery family, writing: “Happy New Year everyone! I was hoping to start the new year differently but we have lost yet another friend.” “James Avery who we all lovingly know as Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince has passed.” “Our condolences to aunt Florence (his mother), Miss Barbara (his wife) and all those who loved him.
