R.I.P.: Dick Clark Dies at 82

Radio and TV host/personality/entrepreneur Dick Clark has died at the age of 82, reports the AP . The “American Bandstand”/”New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” fixture had suffered a heart attack following an outpatient procedure in Santa Monica. Over the course of his six-decade career Clark also produced awards shows including the American Music Awards (which he founded), the Emmy Awards, and the Golden Globes; he even dabbled in film, writing and starring in the 1968 crime drama Killers Three . Killers Three marked the rare acting gig for Clark, who found far greater success behind the camera as producer and in front of it as the host of numerous television programs and game shows over the years. In it, Clark starred as one of a trio of North Carolinian criminals who embark on a crime spree and head to California. It’s certainly not one of Clark’s best-known works — The New York Times called it ” flimsy ” in its 1969 review — but the film, and Clark’s turn as a cop-killing criminal, is a curious little-known addition to his legacy. Of course, there was the time Clark popped up on the blooper episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air , uttered the line “Lemme break you off a little somethin’,” and showed Will Smith how it was done. Now that’s more like the Dick Clark we all knew and loved. Leave your fond remembrances below. [ AP ]

Will Smith’s TV Mom Wants Our Young Men To Get It Together

In her newest blog posting, Janet Hubert, who once played the mother of Will Smith on the successful hit tv show “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air”,calls young men out for their poor dressing habits. Could Wearing Saggy Pants Land You In Jail? Janet writes: I remember years ago sitting in an enclosed patio of a New York City restaurant when a man came up and pressed his private parts against the window. Like a scene out of Sex in the City my girlfriend and I gave him the itty bitty sign and kept on eating. I was about 25 years old at the time, that was then; but the other day while driving my car, I came eye to thigh with a young black man sporting the shirtless, dreadlocks, pants down below his penis look. I could clearly see his privates swinging in the breeze and he was strutting like a chicken, head bobbing back and forth checking to see who was checking him out. I almost drove into a tree, not because he looked like a Chippendale dancer, but in outrage that this seeming intelligent young man would expose himself like this in front of me and the rest of the world.  I wanted to pull over, get out of my car; and like the mother that I am, scream what my mother would have screamed.  “ What in the hell do you think you’re doing?” Find him a belt and whip his bared behind, and then put my belt around his damned pants. ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Jennifer Grey Has A Flawless Finale

Bristol Palin is back on the bottom, while Kyle Massey couldn’t quite measure up to the ‘Dirty Dancing’ actress. By Kelley L. Carter Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough on “Dancing With the Stars” Monday Photo: ABC While surprise eliminations have made this one of the most talked-about “Dancing With the Stars” seasons yet, there weren’t any real shockers on Monday night’s (November 22) episode. Front-runner Jennifer Grey continued her dominance, grabbing perfect 10s for both her performances. In fact, judge Bruno Tonioli told her he loved her paso doble so much, he wished he could give her an 11. For her freestyle, Grey and partner Derek Hough had a bit of fun with a send-up of her famous role in “Dirty Dancing.” She started off the routine by holding a watermelon then shimmied to the Contours’ “Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance).” The judges loved it; head judge Len Goodman said, “You’re like a juggernaut … heading for that mirror-ball trophy!” 60/60 The second-place finisher was Disney kid Kyle Massey, who did a freestyle hip-hop dance that earned him one of his highest scores, a 29. In his freestyle, he dressed like Will Smith in the title sequence of his 1990s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” He and his partner, Lacey Schwimmer, also performed the foxtrot for his second dance. “I dub you the Fresh Prince of ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ ” judge Carrie Ann Inaba told him. 56/60 The last-place dancer was Bristol Palin, whose first dance was a freestyle during which she started off inside a jail cell. She redid a jive that judges thought didn’t quite cut it earlier in the season. She and her partner Mark Ballas freestyled to “Cell Block Tango” from the Broadway musical “Chicago.” The judges weren’t impressed with her reinterpretation of the Fosse-choreographed dance. 52/60 Who are you rooting for to win it all during Tuesday night’s finale? Let us know in the comments!

The Fresh Prince vs. God
