What’s On: FNL FTW!

It’s a day of jubilation for Friday Night Lights fans who yelled “Touchdown!” during yesterday’s Emmy nominations. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton both scored nods, and they hope to ruin Bryan Cranston and Glenn Close’s chances of repeat wins. I’m skeptical, but we should accept this small victory. Also: Wife Swap is new tonight, that may mean I’m excited, and I’m sorry.

Kelly Clarkson’s primetime comebacks are always welcome, even if they’re on a hokey pre-taped Fourth of July special. But do you think she’ll sing “Miss Independent” and make us fall crazy-in-love with 2003 again? I vote yes. But before you take out your Nikki McKibbon voodoo doll and prepare for a night of idolization, take a look at the weird klatch of comedians who are joining Clarkson on America Celebrates July 4th at Ford’s Theatre .

What’s On: Meat Allison

Medium turns a corner this week as Allison (Patricia Arquette) must go the Rex Harrison root to help find a missing woman — that’s right, she’s talking to the animals. I’d hope that a woodsy owl would speak in a British accent and tell her he was in the parlor room at the time of the murder, but the reality is much better (and more salient to the Arquette family) than that. Hold your Golden Retriever close, pray he’s not gossiping with your loved ones, and settle in for spooks.
