Daniel Craig and the Queen Leave Olympics Crowd Shaken, Stirred with Pre-Recorded Opening Ceremony Skit (VIDEO)

Daniel Craig was at Her Majesty’s Service for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. The James Bond franchise’s latest 007 appeared with Queen Elizabeth and her Corgis in a pre-recorded skit that had the secret agent and the queen meeting in Buckingham Palace. London’s Mail Online reports that the Queen told Craig, “Good evening, Mr. Bond,” before accompanying him on a helicopter ride to Olympic Stadium with the secret agent at the aircraft’s controls. The film then gave way to real life as their stunt doubles sailed into Olympic Stadium beneath Union Jack  chutes, eliciting gasps from the crowd. After touchdown, the real Queen, her hair strategically mussed, then reappeared to take her place in the royal box. Although, sadly, no Rage-virus-infected zombies showed up to spike the adrenaline levels of the gathered athletes, the ceremony’s director Danny Boyle didn’t completely ignore his darker instincts for the presentation, which was entitled Isles of Wonder . The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang put in an appearance and Harry Potter baddie Lord Voldemort menaced in the form of a giant inflatable that was reminiscent of Pink Floyd’s The Wall concert tour.  Fortunately, a small army of approximately 30 Mary Poppinses swooped down into the stadium on umbrellas to save the day. Selena Gomez Tells Fans She’s Doing ‘Much Better’

Teen star performed a mini-show with her band the Scene on Monday, after a brief hospitalization. The Disney star spent the weekend recovering after being hospitalized last Thursday in Los Angeles for a combination of food poisoning and exhaustion. The 18-year-old singer/actress took the stage for a performance at the Santa Monica Place mall Monday afternoon, wearing a flowing, white blouse over a white tank top, black shorts, and black strappy heels. Gomez and her band, the Scene, played two of her hit songs, “Who Says” and “A Year Without Rain,” to cheers from the crowd. Gomez thanked her fans profusely for coming out to see her and for their support, especially in the last few days. She also apologized for missing her original appearance, which had been scheduled for this past Friday. “I want to thank you so much for coming. If you guys came on Friday, I’m so sorry that I couldn’t be here,” she said before the band struck up the first few notes of “Who Says.” “I love you guys very much.” Although Gomez didn’t do any crazy dance movies or flips, she performed each song with plenty of energy. Her voice sounded strong and steady. At the end of the second song, the teen star answered a few questions from fans in the audience, mostly pegged to her experience filming the upcoming movie “Monte Carlo,” around which the event was organized. Gomez did take a brief moment to assure her fans (and the throng of reporters also gathered) that she’s feeling just fine. “I’m feeling much better, thank you,” she said. Lauren Alaina was among the American Idol finalists who performed with the flu last night. But the resulting, smokey sound may have actually helped this 16-year old with her rendition of Melissa Etheridge’s “I’m the Only One.” Thanks to a confident stage presence and a well-trained voice, Alaina earned a wild ovation from the crowd, along with the label of a “shining star” from Steven Tyler. Said Jennifer Lopez, simply and accurately: “That’s staying true to the melody and framework of the song but still giving it your own flavor. Very good job.” Lauren Alaina – I’m the Only One

Body Painting Photos from the world body painting festival from Seeboden, Austria

—These photos are from the World Body Painting Festival is held during the third week of July every year in Seebonden and Carinthia, Austria. This is the largest festival for the Bodypainting community. Over 100 body painting artists and models that attend this festival with thousands of visitors from all over the world eager to see this art every year. The first four days are comprises of special workshop and lesson events while the last three days of the festival is open to the public. I was lucky enough to attend this event full of live music, snacks and cafes and had a wonderful time taking these photos. You can see how each of the unique pieces of art develops as the day progresses. The models and artists get the opportunity to show the art on their body against the magnificent scenery of Millstatter See. Most of the models volunteer and they were even asking canvassing subjects from the crowd should anyone like to try out. No previous experience necessary. Conan O’Brien Found TBS Through JDate, and 5 Other Jokes From Coco’s Upfront Set

For Conan O’B rien, this morning’s TBS upfront presentation was just another pit stop on his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour, and he opened the Hammerstein Ballroom show with a video sketch that found him lazing around his house in a fat suit, eating pizza, jumping on a trampoline in sweats, and answering the phone (“Hello, job!?…No, there is no Debbie here”). Eventually, Conan appeared to wild applause from the crowd of reporters, a premiere date for his show was announced — November 8 — and he launched into his new material. Here were his 6 best jokes:

Jose Tomas: Star Bullfighter Was Badly Gored in Mexico

One of the Spain’s top bullfighters, Jose Tomas, was badly gored during a fight in Mexico. The matador is now in serious condition and was brought to the hospital after losing several liters of blood. During the Saturday’s fight in Aguascalientes, he acquired a 4-inch (10cm) tear to the groin when Navegante, a 1,100 pound (500kg) bull, pierced him. The injury had punctured one of Tomas’ veins and an artery. He was immediately operated at the scene. Tomas, 34, was profusely bleeding which made the officials appeal over loudspeaker for compatible donors from the crowd. Tomas has a rare blood type A+.
