Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer Details Teased With Grin-Inducing Screenshot

Rockstar Games plans to reveal a muddied trough of details about the multiplayer modes found in their much anticipate open-world western Red Dead Redemption this Thursday. And to make the wait for said details just that much more painful, Rockstar went ahead and released a new screenshot (above) from the game’s multiplayer mode that has me positively giddy. Unofficial multiplayer details leaked a couple weeks back, and revealed that Redemption wouldn’t use a traditional lobby system, but rather just let players freely wander the game world where they could then meet up with other players, form gangs and then jump into the various multiplayer modes. I sincerely hope this is true, and thankfully, we won’t have to settle for speculation for much longer. I absolutely can’t wait to form my own Wild Bunch, and face off against other gangs in epic shootouts in the dusty streets and wild saloons of the Old West. According to Sony’s SCEA VP of Marketing, Peter Dille, the company is not going to be arrogant anymore… or, more accurately, it’s marketing and advertising for the PlayStation 3 will shy away from arrogance. Like remember those weird PS3 ads with the baby in the white room? We’re probably not going to be seeing more like that.

SEGA Reveals First Official Details For The Conduit 2

Forget cryptic teases and random posters at game events. SEGA Europe has officially pulled back the curtain on High Voltage Software’s sci-fi shooter sequel, The Conduit 2 , and revealed a slew of details in the process. First off, the alien invasion kicked off in the first game has now spread throughout the world, and, shockingly, it’s up to you to take care of it. Single-player and multiplayer return, and players can expect “multi-tiered levels featuring dynamic environments, cinematic battles, giant adversaries, and deep customization features.” The game also introduces a new co-op mode called Team Invasion that can be played online and off. The offline mode features four-player split-screen as well. The Conduit ’s 12-player competitive multiplayer returns with some big improvements including “larger and more intricate indoor and outdoor battlefields.” Sega plans to release The Conduit 2 in fall 2010, and fans can most likely expect to see plenty more about the game as we get closer to E3.
