Last night on “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart mocked the media's obsession with would-be Quran-burning pastor Terry Jones, and showed how Fox News considers reasonable statements by “Ground Zero Mosque” Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to be veiled threats to further their fear-driven narrative. First addressing Terry “Yosemite” Jones's plan to burn Qurans on 9/11, Stewart pointed out that God both called for and called off the burning, according to Jones. “When God told you to do it originally, he hadn't anticipated the backlash?” Stewart asked of Jones. “God didn't see that one coming?” Stewart likened the media's constant coverage of the crazy pastor to the dog from the movie “Up!” It's like no matter what is going on the world, they will drop everything if they see a squirrel. In this case, the squirrel is an irrational person who thinks burning books is OK. Speaking of irrationality, Stewart moved on to re-discuss the “Ground Zero Mosque” controversy, but particularly Fox News' nonsensical fear of Imam Rauf. Fox demands the Imam answer their question of “Why there?” but when he calmly explains on CNN that moving the center would send a message to Muslim nations that Islam is under attack in the U.S., and that “anger will explode in the Muslim world,” all Fox hears is “explode.” Stewart pointed out that using the threat of violence, which is what Fox News consider Rauf's explanation to be, to “expedite a desired outcome,” is exactly what Fox News does when it pushes for a conservative candidate. ‘I about broke my neck,’ Johnny Knoxville tells MTV News of outrageous stunts with Steve-O, Bam Margera and crew. By Kara Warner, with additional reporting by Jocelyn Vena Bam Margera in “Jackass 3-D” Photo: Paramount Pictures With an October 15 release date, fans have just a little more than a month to fully prepare themselves for the awe-inspiring, shocking and very disturbing 3-D experience that is sure to be “Jackass 3D.” But they got a head-start when MTV aired an exclusive clip during the VMA pre-show on Sunday (September 12). Now, we have another exclusive for MTV.com readers. In this new clip, perennial ringleader Johnny Knoxville is shown half-crouching behind an enormous plastic hand. He explains that said hand is filled with flour and that his crew is waiting to play one of their favorite pranks — the practice of “antiquing” — on fellow Jackass Bam Margera. When Bam arrives, Wee Man acts as the “bait,” casually saying hello to Bam. Once Bam gets to the best possible spot, Knoxville unleashes the hand and Bam is knocked to the ground in a cloud of flour. Uproarious laugher from the “Jackass 3D” clan ensues. As for what other antics audiences can expect from the movie, Steve-O told MTV News this weekend that people will be most surprised by how his sobriety affected his stunts. “People are gonna be waiting to see how being sober and filming Jackass is different,” he said. “Being clearheaded and sober makes it more painful and more scary, and the first thing I say is, ‘I’m Steve-O, why do I have to be Steve-O?’ ” Meanwhile, Knoxville promised that the 3-D element will make things sexy, not scary. “Party Boy won’t be scary. He’ll be very, very sexy,” Knoxville said of co-star Chris Pontius. “He got rid of that itchy thong for 3-D,” co-creator Jeff Tremaine added. “We lost the thong so the 3-D could really come at you. The clothes finally come off.” But it’s not all nudity, the boys assured us. Fox and director Michael Bay reportedly exchanged heated words last year. By MTV News staff Megan Fox in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: Paramount Megan Fox and Michael Bay famously exchanged heated words around the release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” last summer, with the actress comparing the director to Hitler and the director saying the actress “still has a lot of growing up to do.” Despite their contentious relationship, the pair seemed set to reunite this summer for a third “Transformers” flick. But now, in a stunning reversal, Fox has been dropped from the movie. Deadline.com broke the story that Paramount has declined to pick up Fox’s contractual option for “Transformers 3” and that giving star Shia LaBeouf a “new love interest makes more sense for the story,” according to an unnamed source. GossipCop.com has now confirmed the story. “Her option has not been picked up,” a spokesperson for the studio reportedly said. As of press time, MTV News’ calls to Paramount, Fox’s publicist and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s publicist have not been returned. MTV News had heard whispers that the filmmakers had been considering writing Fox out of the script, but nothing seemed to have come of it until now. Di Bonaventura told MTV News in April that there was no trouble in the world of “Transformers” when it came to Fox and Bay’s relationship. “Michael and Megan get along great,” he told us. “Like in any creative endeavor, there’s not always total agreement. Michael doesn’t agree on everything with me or Shia. He’s the captain of the ship. But I think that’s much ado about nothing. I even read that we were thinking about not casting her. Come on! It’s so silly.
