Kim Kardashian Releases ‘Turn It Up’ Video Teaser Photos

‘I’ll be sharing the other looks with you guys here on my blog,’ she told her fans. By Jocelyn Vena Kim Kardashian on the set of her video for “Turn It Up” Photo: Celebuzz/ Kim Kardashian On her blog, Kim Kardashian is teasing fans with a new look at her Hype Williams-directed music video for her single, “Turn It Up.” In a series of photos she posted on her blog , Kim shows the process it took for her to get the Bo Derek braids she’s rocking in the soon-to-be-released video. In a few photos, fans see the finished look: Kim rocking the braids, wearing white fur and gracing peachy lips. In another pair of photos, Kim sits in a hairdressing chair as a team works to give Kim those corn rows. Back in December, Kardashian tweeted a photo of herself in the braids, without indicating whether the look would appear in her video. “Hype Williams came up with this Bo Derek braids look for the music video and I loved it!” she wrote about the hairstyle on Tuesday. “It took about four hours to do, and believe it or not I fell asleep! I wish I could have worn it longer.” Kardashian said that she’s wearing more than just this one look in the clip and that as the video’s release approaches, she’ll have more and more to share with fans about it. “We tried out a number of different looks in the video, and I’ll be sharing the other looks with you guys here on my blog,” she said. “I’m excited (and a little nervous) for you all to hear the song and watch the video. I really hope you all like it!” On Monday, Kim posted an image of herself in the studio while she was recording the song, which premieres on “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” on Sunday. “I am so excited for you all to hear my song. It debuts this Sunday on [my show] and will be available on iTunes,” she explained. “I’m going to start sharing all my pics from the music video shoot.” Kardashian has always said the song is a one-off and that all proceeds from its sale will go to a good cause. “I’m proud of myself that I tried something. It’s all in fun,” she explained about the song, which was produced by The-Dream. “We just had a good time and the proceeds are going to a cancer organization [because we both] lost a parent to cancer. So it’s just fun.”

Trey Songz Takes ‘Control’ On Passion, Pain & Pleasure

‘My biggest influence, musically, without a doubt is R. Kelly,’ Songz admits of onetime R&B foe, as new album drops. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Sway and Trey Songz Photo: MTV News Trey Songz’s fanbase has steadily increased with each project, and as the singer released his fourth album on Tuesday (September 14), he reflected on the recent changes in his career. The Virgina native tells MTV News he has taken greater control of the musical reins with his new LP, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, than he did last year’s Ready. “As far as what I can attribute my success to, you know, taking charge of my career. Taking full control — from the music I make to the pictures I take.” Despite public friction with R. Kelly, Trey Songz also readily credited the Chicago R&B star with influencing his material. “My biggest influence, musically, without a doubt is R. Kelly,” he admitted. “I’ll stand on top of a mountain and say that, no matter what the differences may have been or what I may have said, or what he may have said. He will always be my biggest influence.” While there aren’t any R. Kelly collaborations on Passion, Trey Songz does partner again with Drake, with whom he has enjoyed a run of breakout tracks, from “Successful” to “I Invented Sex,” on “Unusual.” Earlier this year, Songz took full advantage of the “MTV Unplugged” platform by delivering a stirring show backed by a live band. Now, he’s riding the wave of his current single, “Bottoms Up,” featuring Nicki Minaj , which is resting at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100. ” ‘Bottoms Up,’ I feel, is a very creative video,” he told MTV News last month about working with Minaj and director Anthony Mandler. “[It’s] different from me or what’s expected from me and anything I’ve shot for that matter. Anthony used a lot of different shooting techniques. I think it heightens whatever it is that the song has already — the drive, the vigor, the club anthem, the energy in the record is definitely heightened in the video.” What’s your favorite track on Trey Songz’s new album? Snoop Dogg Compares Kid Cudi Video To ‘Romper Room’ Kids’ Show

‘It’s just me and him having a good time,’ Snoop says of ‘That Tree’ clip. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Matt Elias Snoop Dogg Photo: MTV News Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi recently shot the video for their collaboration “That Tree.” The head-nodding number, produced by Diplo and featured on Snoop’s More Malice, features the Doggfather and Cudi trading verses about their favorite smoke-filled pastime. According to Snoop, the video will be “Romper Room”-like, a nod to the famed children’s television series known for its organized-yet-free-for-all episodes. “It’s kind of hard to explain,” Snoop told MTV News about the concept. “It’s like ‘Romper Room.’ It’s kiddish. It’s really fun. Me and him like to have fun, so we wanted the video to depict that. It’s not a real serious video. There’s no champagne room. There’s no money being thrown or a bunch of girls. It’s just me and him having a good time.” The song is one of the additions Snoop’s re-released of ,i> Malice N Wonderland . The More Malice set includes the Cudi-assisted “That Tree,” the “I Wanna Rock” G-mix featuring Jay-Z and the movie version of “Malice N Wonderland.” The West Coast rapper spoke with MTV News last week and explained his decision to repackage his latest project with a film. “I like to be very creative,” he explained. “I like to give people all of Snoop Dogg when I give them an album. I felt like on the [ Malice N Wonderland ] record, I didn’t give all of Snoop Dogg like I really could have. I had to make the record be about 12 songs and conceptually stick to the script as opposed to what I normally do with 20 to 21 songs on the album and overdose people. So what I did [on More Malice ] was, I pulled back from the music and put a little more thought in the creative side as far as the visual aspects. Am I gonna just make one video and say, ‘This is the single,’ and hope that people attract to it? Or was I gonna make a mini-movie to make people understand the philosophy behind this Malice N Wonderland project, and that’s what I was on.” What do think about Snoop Dogg’s video idea?
