Sheree Whitfield Accepts $250k For ‘Real Housewives’ Sheree Whitfield is officially replacing NeNe on RHOA, and with that comes a (much needed) regular paycheck. So exactly how much was Bravo willing to give Sheree to return to the wig-snatching and shouting matches that got her on the radar to begin with? Via RadarOnline : Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Sheree Whitfield is officially returning to the Bravo series, RadarOnline.com has learned — but she isn’t coming cheap. According to insiders, she managed to score a $250,000 payday that was more than twice her initial offer from the network. Producers needed to “bring the drama with NeNe‘s departure from the show,” an insider told Radar. “Real Housewives of Atlanta is the crown jewel in Bravo’s crown, and it has always been a ratings hit. Bringing back Sheree could be a headache for the crew behind the scenes, but she has really matured since the time she was initially on.” “At the height of Sheree’s four seasons, she was making around $350,000,” the source revealed. “Producers initially offered $100,000, and Sheree balked at the insulting offer. Finally, the contract was signed for $250,000, with an option to do another season at a higher salary.” The paycheck will help Whitfield with any future possible tax issues. The source added, “Sheree is happy to have a regular paycheck again, and have the platform of the show to promote her various projects. Looks like she finished up Chateau Sheree just in time! We bet she’s happy to have a steady check coming in. She’ll probably be super-lit on the show next season to make sure she secures that spot…

Actress Grace Lee Whitney has passed away at the age of 85. Whitney was best known for her portrayal of Yeoman Janice Rand on the original Star Trek TV series. Despite being dropped from the show after just eight episodes, Whitney reprised her role in five Star Trek theatrical films and even had a cameo appearance on the Star Trek: Voyager spinoff series in 1996. In addition to her acting work, Whitney was an accomplished singer, dancer and author. She released a popular memoir entitled The Longest Trek: My Tour of the Galaxy in 1998. Though she sang with some of the world’s most famous orchestras, and her film credits include such classics as Some Like It Hot, Whitney maintained that her greatest triumph was conquering addiction. A recovering alcoholic who spent the last 35 years of her life helping others who struggled with substance abuse, Whitney stated in several interviews that she would rather be known as a survivor of addiction than as an actress on Star Trek. Earlier this year, Whitney spoke publicly about the death of Leonard Nimoy , calling her famous co-star “a great friend” whom she credited with helping her to overcome her alcoholism. Former Scandal star Columbus Short has some giant cojones. It might get him in serious trouble with the law, but no one can take that away from him. Despite being fired from the show earlier this year because of his legal troubles, the actor is throwing a party this evening to celebrate the show’s return! Short will be at an Atlanta club to watch Scandal Season 4 Episode 1 , and in the interest of cross-promoting his many talents, drop his new single! Yes, the self-titled album Columbus Short will be available for purchase soon, and the title of its debut single – you can’t make this stuff up – is “Gladiator.” As his soon-to-be-officially-killed-off character Harrison often says, he is not a lawyer, he is a Gladiator. Well, he was until tonight’s all-new episode. Who wants to watch TV online when you could see it unfold right along with Columbus, toasting to the star as he witnesses his alter ego’s death. It’s poetic. Harrison was last seen with gun pointed to his head and a gunshot ringing out as the screen faded to black, which is typically a pretty bad sign. The 32-year-old Short, who had already been in trouble with the police prior to that scene, was arrested for domestic violence just a few days later. He was axed from the show shortly thereafter, removing any chance that the gunshot was just vintage misdirection from creator Shonda Rhimes. Speaking of Rhimes, Columbus and Shonda are tight , TMZ reports, and Short doesn’t blame her for his departure, so he still wants her to succeed. That’s why he’s supporting the show at the club tonight, which at least makes some sense … though it’s still a pretty ballsy move by any measure.
