Group Lovin’ Gone Wrong: NY Woman Beaten To Death By Her Married Couple Live-In Lovers

This is a crazy story that should serve as a cautionary tale to people considering polyamorous relationships . When they go wrong they can be fatal. According to NY Times reports : Sheryl Outerbridge, a 38-year-old mother of three, was buried last Wednesday in New Jersey, hours after her funeral service in Harlem. One of the suspects in her death, Devonnee Wilkerson, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault; her husband, Malik Wilkerson, was in custody in Pittsburgh and awaiting extradition to New York, the police said. In a statement to the police, Ms. Wilkerson explained what precipitated the violent act. Ms. Outerbridge, she said, violated a cardinal rule of their relationship by getting a tattoo for her birthday: it said “Bish Baby,” Ms. Wilkerson’s pet name for her husband. “There are boundaries not to cross,” Ms. Wilkerson told the police.” SMH. And this is why these situations go wrong. Someone is always the odd person out in these love triangles and not everyone is able to handle the rejection, but apparently the relationship started out more promising. A close friend, Nicole Irving, recalled that Ms. Outerbridge had met Malik Wilkerson at a party over three years ago, and confided that she had an abusive boyfriend whom she was afraid to leave. Mr. Wilkerson confronted the boyfriend and scared him off, Ms. Irving said. Shortly after, Mr. Wilkerson, who was known as Bishop, moved into Ms. Outerbridge’s small Harlem apartment. So did his wife. Known as Phoenix, Ms. Wilkerson had long dreadlocks and gaunt features behind wire-rimmed spectacles; they were a sharp contrast to Ms. Outerbridge’s round face, full lips and glossy hair. The two women appeared close: Ms. Outerbridge’s Facebook page is packed with photos of their exploits. There were visits to meet the celebrity chef Bobby Flay at Bobby’s Burger Palace in Garden City, N.Y., where Ms. Wilkerson worked; and trips to Rockaway Beach. There they snapped a self-portrait, Mr. Wilkerson between them. Ms. Outerbridge was plain about her new lifestyle, once bringing the man she called the Don to a family cookout. When the Wilkersons moved back to the two-family vinyl-sided house owned by their relatives in South Jamaica, Queens, their new girlfriend came with them. She had her own room in the untidy two-bedroom apartment. Are we the only ones wondering where Sheryl’s three kids were in all this? With their dad or another relative? It’s sad those kids have to be without a mother, especially because there were warning signs: As frank as Ms. Outerbridge was about her three-way relationship, she tried to keep its brutal reality to herself, but that became increasingly difficult. She would return to her Harlem apartment with black eyes, a split lip, “a small map of Texas on her cheek, like somebody took the cigarette and dragged it up her face,” Ms. Irving said. Last month, Ms. Outerbridge told another friend, Tasheka Neal, 31, that Mr. Wilkerson had broken her jaw. She suggested that the love triangle was lopsided — she indicated to her friends that her true relationship was with the man, and that his wife simply capitulated to his will. Her forays to Harlem and her pet cat there never lasted long. “When she would come home, they would come and show up and knock on her door,” said Ms. Irving, referring to the Wilkersons. They would order Ms. Outerbridge back to Queens. On Monday, Dec. 2, Ms. Outerbridge fled the Wilkersons, and they wanted her back. Mr. Wilkerson began calling many of Ms. Outerbridge’s friends, his voice breaking with rage when they answered. He told them he suspected she was with other men. According to a transcript of statements Ms. Wilkerson made to the police, the Wilkersons drove around Queens in the Town and Country, searching for Ms. Outerbridge in the dark of Tuesday morning. They found her at a train station in Jamaica, and forcefully took her to their home in Queens. Her clothes came off. Visible, on her buttock, was the new tattoo she had gotten for her birthday in late October. “She should have never gotten that tattoo, because I am his wife and that kind of tattoo is reserved for me,” Ms. Wilkerson told the police. The couple beat Ms. Outerbridge in turns, first pummeling her temples, then battering her legs with the paint roller, still lying in the house. Her pleas for help were accompanied by calls of “Daddy,” Ms. Wilkerson’s pet name for her husband, enraging his wife further. “I snapped again,” she told detectives. “That was another boundary not to cross.” Ms. Wilkerson told the police she threw a beer bottle at Ms. Outerbridge’s head, and jabbed a lit cigarette into her skin. Then they beat her some more, using fists and a hammer, and left her close to death on the floor. The next morning, Ms. Wilkerson said, she and another man took Ms. Outerbridge to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The other man, who has not been identified, was said to be cooperating with the police. Based on Mr. Wilkerson’s phone calls the night before the killing, some speculated that he might have been crazed by the prospect of her seeing other men. But his wife’s fury had a different root. Toward the end of her questioning by detectives, Ms. Wilkerson admitted something she had kept to herself to that point. “I know,” she said, “Malik had fallen in love with Sheryl.” This is like something straight from “Snapped.” SMH. R.I.P. to that poor woman. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Drake, The Game to Pay For Ohio Fire Victims’ Funeral Costs

Drake and The Game are teaming up to help cover the funeral costs for six people, including five kids, who died in a tragic Ohio house fire this summer. The craziest part? The rappers have no connections to the family. Anna Angel was working her shift at Burger King when a huge fire consumed her home with her five young children and her boyfriend trapped inside. There were no survivors. The Game heard about this , and wrote on Instagram, “I can deal with a lot of things but people losing their children is something that kills me every time.” He recently pledged to donate $1 million to individuals in need as part of his new Robin Hood project, and deemed this to be a very worthy cause. Game was on the phone with Drake when he read about the woman’s loss, and they each agreed to donate $10,000 to help Anna cover the burial costs. Drake later posted about it, saying, “What [The Game] is doing will never be forgotten. Honored to be able to help people along side my brother.” The producers of Game’s TV show, “Marrying the Game,” gave another $2,500. Snoop Lion also reportedly pitched in after learning about Game’s contribution. Game recently donated several thousand dollars to help out with another funeral after a six-year-old girl was shot and killed in front of her home. Pretty surprising, and cool and generous, that he and his friends in the industry are going out of his way to help people they doesn’t even know, isn’t it?

Race Matters: White Hollyweird Actors Mum On Syria For Fear Of Seeming “Anti-Black” For Opposing Obama

Hollywood Mum On Syria For Fear Of Seeming “Anti-Black” SMH. Actors scared of being called racists ?? According to Hollywood Reporter: In 2003, ahead of a U.S. attack on Iraq, a robust anti-war movement in Hollywood included a TV commercial starring Martin Sheen and Sean Penn visiting Baghdad. There were online petitions signed by Ed Asner; letters to President George W. Bush pleading for peace were signed by Matt Damon, Tim Robbins, Barbra Streisand and Alec Baldwin; former M*A*S*H star Mike Farrell fronted multiple press conferences where celebrities denounced war. The good news for President Barack Obama as he considers a military response against Syria for using chemical weapons against rebels is that he probably won’t have to deal with a similar anti-war movement from Hollywood. But that’s not because there isn’t opposition. It’s just not organized, and, as Asner and Farrell – two of the industry’s most vocal progressive activists — told The Hollywood Reporter Friday, perhaps it never will be. While some conservatives see hypocrisy, Farrell says that an all-out war in Iraq under Bush, a Republican who was very unpopular in Hollywood, was a much bigger deal than potential missile strikes against Syria under the direction of Obama, a Democrat who drew millions for his campaigns from showbiz industry donors. Asner, 83, and Farrell, 74, both expressed extreme disappointment in Obama for advocating military action. “What he is talking about in Syria is a potential war crime,” Farrell said. “It will be illegal, and if citizens are killed it certainly could be considered a war crime.” Also, said Asner, unsuccessful efforts to prevent war in Iraq led to complacency among left-wing activists. “We had a million people in the streets, for Christ’s sake, protesting Iraq, which was about as illegal as you could find. Did it matter? Is George Bush being tried in the high courts of justice?” asks Asner. “We’ve been so God-damned stung in this country by false wars, repeatedly, that, how can you believe in any just war with the history we have had?” Another reason some Hollywood progressives have been reticent to speak out against war in Syria, according to Asner, is fear of being called racist. “A lot of people don’t want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama,” he said. Asner said Hollywood activists should read a Huffington Post blog item by Dennis Kucinich, where the former congressman lists the “Top 10 unproven claims for war against Syria.” “Whether it’s a Republican or Democrat president, or Republican or Democrat Congress — and it doesn’t make a God-damned difference — it behooves us to get off our ass and ask these questions,” Asner said. Farrell and Asner both say that beating the war drums on Syria is one of many mistakes Obama has made. “I voted for him, but I’m not proud. He hasn’t thrown himself on the funeral pyre. I wanted him to sacrifice himself. Instead, he has proved himself to be a corporatist, and as long as he’s a corporatist, he’s not my president,” Asner said. “A lot of people have lost hope — with the betrayals, the NSA spying … People aren’t getting active because ‘Who gives a sh*t?’ is essentially the bottom line.” Thoughts?? Pull Out For What? 87-Year-Old Man Who Fathered 54 Children Passes Away And His Kids Reunite For His Funeral

Papa was a rolling stone… Man Who Fathered 54 Children Passes Away Three daughters of an 87-year-old man who passed away recently embarked on the search of a lifetime when they took on the task of locating their other estimated 52 siblings to bring them together for their father’s memorial service. via Inquisitr Samuel Delbert Whitney, who is estimated to have fathered a total of 54 children, died last month and his entire family gathered to bid farewell to him at his funeral last weekend. Whitney, who was a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, died at the age of 87, and he is believed to have been the father to 54 children who age from 69 down to 13 years of age. The youngest of which was born when Whitney was in his mid 70s. Whitney, who ran an operating wrecking yard in south Phoenix, also worked in numerous social clubs too in the city. He has fathered so many children that no one knows exactly how many sons and daughters he has. Lexi Woods, one of his eldest, revealed that her father once revealed that she had 41 brothers and sisters, but friends have revealed that it was actually closer to 54. Marilyn Whitney, another of his daughters, praised her father, calling him a family man, but admitting, “He had a lot of umph in him I guess.” In light of his death, the three sisters worked together to locate their other siblings so that they could all reunite to celebrate the life of their stick-n-move father. Lexi, Marilyn and Sandra, who are all aged 69 and are Samuel’s oldest children, decided to organize the memorial service and then attempted to track down their siblings. However, because they didn’t know how many siblings they had or even who they were, they took drastic steps to hunt them down. They even contacted a local TV news station who aired a feature on the bizarre search also. In the end, the sisters admitted that the service was a success, and they each gathered together to celebrate their father’s life. SMH. This is crazy. A “Lil Positivity”: 8-Year-Old Ohio Boy Starts Kool-Aid Stand To Pay For Grandma’s $5,000 Funeral Costs

OHHHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Ohio Boy Starts Kool-Aid Stand To Pay For Grandma’s Funeral Via HuffPo reports: Business was so brisk at his 8-year-old son’s Kool-Aid stand, Michael Diamond, Sr., had to stock up on cups Friday near his Garfield Heights, Ohio, home. The elder Diamond appreciates his son’s enterprise — but admires his heart even more. Michael Diamond, Jr., opened the stand on Tuesday to raise money for his grandmother’s funeral. Bobbie Diamond passed away Father’s Day at age 52 from cancer. The lad heard his mom and dad, both on disability, discussing the $5,000 ceremony cost and he wanted to pitch in. This is one Kool kid. “I’m very proud,” the father told The Huffington Post. “Words cannot express how I feel right now.” As for how his deceased mother — and Michael Jr.’s grandmother — would feel, the elder Diamond said, “My mom would probably sit back and cry and say ‘Thank you, Jesus.’ My mother was very spiritual.” Young Michael began Tuesday, earning a respectable $173 in a few days. But sales picked up drastically after Cleveland station WOIO ran a story (see the segment above). The total has grown to $1,100, the father estimated. That’s a staggering figure considering that Michael was selling 16-ounce cups for $1 and 8-ounce cups for 50 cents. (Pink Lemonade and Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade have been among the favorites.) Corporate help may be on the way, too. Kraft Foods, the parent of Kool-Aid, told HuffPost it had gotten wind of the story and was deeply touched. “We are looking into the situation and how we could help support Michael and his family in this endeavor,” a spokesman wrote. Michael plans to work the stand through Sunday. The funeral for Bobbie Diamond is Tuesday. If she were here, dare we say she’d be pleased as punch at what her grandson is doing. What a beautiful child! He shouldn’t have to be worried about his grandmother being buried, let alone realizing his parents can’t even afford to pay for it. But for him to get up and do something about it himself, is amazing! HOW TO HELP: The family is accepting donations through a PayPal account, transferrable via the email address: teresadiamond@yahoo.com.

What The Hell? Mourners Run In Disbelief As Man Awakes From The Dead At His Funeral

“One day the dead will walk the Earth when there is no more room in hell.” The end of days is here people. Man Awakes From The Dead At Funeral According to Mail Online Mourners at a funeral in Zimbabwe were stunned when the dead man woke up as they filed by his coffin, state media reported today. Brighton Dama Zanthe, 34, was being laid to rest inside a coffin last Monday after he apparently died at his home following a long illness. But the next day Mr Zanthe’s friends and relatives scattered in disbelief when he started moving as they filed past to say their emotional goodbyes. The dead man’s boss Lot Gaka told the Herald of the moment he realized his employee was still alive. He said: ‘I was the first to notice Zanthe’s moving legs as I was in the queue to view his body. This shocked me. ‘At first I could not believe my eyes but later realized that there was indeed some movements on the body as other mourners retreated in disbelief.’ Mr Gaka, who runs a bus company in the midlands city of Gweru, told the newspaper Mr Zanthe had been persistently unwell before his ‘death’ last week. He told how he visited the family’s home to offer support when his employee’s wife called to say he had passed away. He said: ‘Zanthe had been on sick leave for some time and everyone at work was aware that he was critical. ‘We would visit him at his home. ‘I was not surprised when I received a call from Zanthe’s wife on Monday night last week saying that her husband had died.’ He added: ‘I visited two local funeral parlors for quotations before I drove to Zanthe’s house so that we could take the body to the mortuary. ‘It was during the body viewing procession that he “resurrected”.’ Another witness told the state-controlled newspaper how the family desperately pulled blankets off Mr Zanthe’s body to try to revive him after realizing he was still alive. He said: ‘Gaka later removed some blankets from Zanthe’s body after we noticed some movements and this was when we all realized that there was still life. ‘We then called an ambulance which came within seven minutes. ‘It’s really a miracle and most people are still in disbelief.’ Zimbabwe has been known for their zombies. What would you do if a loved one came back from the dead at their funeral?

Really? Man Quits His Job And Considers Suicide After Discovering He Has Brain Cancer Then Sues Hospital Over Incorrect Diagnosis

A man finds out his cancer diagnosis is wrong after quitting his job and spending his life savings. You couldn’t make this ish up. Man Finds Out Cancer Diagnosis is Wrong According to The NY Daily News A Montana man was given six months to live — so he quit his job, spent all his cash and considered blowing his brains out. Mark Templin — in his mid-70s — sold his pickup truck, celebrated a “final” birthday, chose his funeral service and even asked his son-in-law to build him a box for his ashes. Entering into a deep depression, he regularly broke down into tears and moved into hospice care designed for end-of-life patients. He also prominently displayed a “Do Not Resuscitate” notice on his fridge so any first responders would let him die. But the 2009 diagnosis of brain cancer from doctors at Fort Harrison VA Medical Center was wrong. And this week the Helena native finally won $60,000 compensation for the serious error that made him believe for 148 terrifying days that he was dying. The Independent Record reports that Templin underwent more tests as he started to feel better. They revealed he had actually suffered a series of small strokes — meaning he would be around for some time to come. U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy wrote on May 6 that pain and anguish was caused by Dr Patrick Morrow’s “negligent failure to meet the standard of care” when delivering the diagnosis. “It is difficult to put a price tag on the anguish of a man wrongly convinced of his impending death,” Molloy wrote. He awarded Templin $500 per day for the initial period of severe mental and emotional distress and $300 per day for the latter period until he received his new diagnosis. The Medical Center was also ordered to repay the cost of the birthday party and funeral. Kudos to him for holding the hospital accountable and making them compensate him for their error. How would you feel if you were in his shoes? Getty Continue reading
